K/Joe has such a fantastic arc. He didn’t want to be just “another replicant”, he wanted to be something more, so it was devastating to see him learn he wasn’t the child of Rick. But reflecting on the events that happened throughout the movie, Joe did the most human thing to do, and saved Rick to help him reunite with his child. At the conclusion of the movie, Joe ended up becoming a lot more than just “another replicant”. Despite being a replicant, Joe proved he was more human than a lot of humans, and that’s why I love his arc and his character. It’s just so deep and poetic :) This movie is still a masterpiece in 2024 and will always be a masterpiece!
@Howlingburd19 As well, it was a great misdirection for the audience. We assume he's, like many movie heroes, _"the chosen one."_ To discover that he's _just another Replicant_ also affects the audience, we felt let down as well. There were major clues that if you had time to sit down and think about them, it would have been obvious, but you were too caught up in the story to notice at the time. The biggest is his memory of being bullied by the other boys trying to steal the wooden figurine. As an adult, he can run through a multiple brick layers wall and beat up a bigger Nexus 6 with ease - he's stronger than a silverback gorilla. As a child, he should have been able to kill a group of adult men with his bare hands, let alone a group of older boys.
I particularly enjoyed the fact that action sequences weren't using loud or exciting scores to flesh out the drama. Just good camera work and choreography, mixed with colour palettes and ambiance that gave each sequence a much more unsettling, sometimes disturbing feeling. This movie was outstanding.
After original Blade Runner I was dreaming to see more flying cars, and these here are awesome, interiors, exteriors, flying model, weaponry, no armors. Everything in this scene is a masterpiece.
Officer K is the hero for all the loners and doomers. Hes not like batman who whose a billionare playboy, nor is he like Superman who was born indestructable. Instead, K is a Loner that people can relate with. While he may possess his fair share of imperfections like any other individual, he exhibits extraordinary resilience and an exceptional dedication to selfless service.
It's a interesting stylistic choice to have K's fighting style only be punches and locks … Ryan Gosling trains in Muay Thai and they could have easily choreographed a kicking duel between K and Luv.
It's great, and I loved the original from when I saw it in the year of release with the crummy voice over. An excellent synthesis of the ideas, tone and art work of the first. Brilliant.
This movie was excellent. Probably my most enjoyed piece of recent decades. Just so well put together with the cinematography and the OST, just so cool.
@@SoupTech I do get Bladerunner 2049, I clearly saw the acting, undertood the plot and the symbolism behind it but there was some bad direction and the script wasn't engaging. Visually it was great but that's about it. This is from someone who likes the original and thinks that it's a sci-fi classic.
What-ever made K think that he himself was Deckard's and Rachel's off-spring is not important. What is, is that the thought about it made K question the artificial narrative his 'makers' in-stalled in his system, and fight that power even if it killed him. Good vs Evil bla bla.. but i like that!
@@mastichkait’s trying to display her arrogance and mental immaturity. Apparently she’s only 12 years old and her whole existence is geared towards pleasing Wallace. It’s actually quite sad when you think about it. She’s mentally a child and hasn’t grasped that Wallace doesn’t care about her. Think Agu from beasts of no nation…she’s actually one of the most layered characters in the whole movie so it may seem like it’s cliched but it actually holds a much deeper meaning than many realise. This movie is a masterpiece
K realized that he had to play dead or the car would be swept away and drown Deckard. He took a stab and the shot to complete last mission, his mission to be human.
This movie is way better than Dune. Dune was a big disappointment. Most people say it's a masterpiece. The movie was boring, especially in the first half.
Original release, the theatrical version, was such trash! Woops, what a massive mistake! Directors cut...one of the best sci-fi and even most emotive films ever I think, for me!...even if it's emotional heart was galvanised by Rutger hauers ad lib little monologue near the end; was just meant to be I guess! This film is equally as good for me for being similar, but evolved; almost a sonnet to the original. Measured, balanced, considered, made with respect and passion I felt! As a massive fan of the original I was frankly surprised and delighted at how a modern director made such an integruous effort and to come even close to the original is a big achievement. Low and behold ...it came at the expense of any great commercial success. Ok, so youngsters might not remember the original, but they'll lap up crappy modern iterations of star wars or whatnot. I'd love to see another but struggle to see where it can really go from here. The original story has been told and seen through and the ethical, religious, humanitarian questions have surely all been posed? I hope to be proved wrong!
Why the fuck do they show climactic action pieces in the dark or low light these days? To save on vfx money? Easier to make it look cooler? Hide ugly details? The original Blade Runner was also mostly set in neon lit rainy nights but it never felt too dark or needed to squint. This film had its visual moments but doesn't really better the incredible original film's visuals.
They could have easily shot this scene in a more illuminated place, but clearly, that's not what they wanted. In this particular scene, it was pitch black outside, the only lights came from the vehicles, which gave the scene an ominous feeling. However, we can clearly see what's going on. The 1982 original film had its visual moments but thirty years later, its a no brainer that the visual effects of Villeneuve's film surpass those of the original.
@@brotherjohnnyxXxX Sorry I disagree. The director has a habit of obscuring action and background. And cutting short of the action. He is lauded for it but I feel he is overrated. Source material seems to become more boring in his hands.
@@sohomsengupta8914 I disagree, there are many action scenes throughout his films that were shot in broad daylight. The brief but brilliantly shoot highway shootout scene in Sicario. The spinner crash scene in Blade Runner 2049/the subsequent booming by the character Love/the showdown in Las Vegas. In Dune, "a Masterpiece, in my opinion" there were also many scenes that were shot in broad daylight, like the spice harvester scene. They deserved all the Oscars they got but should have given the best director award to Villeneuve.
@@jiji7250 bullshit bro. That's Roger Deakins the DOP. He can shoot anything. Brilliantly. This is just a creative choice from the director and a way of saving money on vfx. And that's why I hate it.

Blade Runner was one of the coolest, breathtaking films I had ever seen. Roy Batty was a truly scary villain when I was a kid. Then there is this movie... the main bad guy has bangs.
LUV isn’t the ‘main’ bad guy - she’s Wallace’s lackey, who he makes feel special by calling her his ‘best angel of all’, in order to ensure her slavish reverence of him remains intact. LUV has essentially the mind of a warped, twisted child - her words to K (“I’m the best one”) confirm this, and her appearance reflects that, with the bangs a good example. I’m not saying she’s stupid, she’s a clever manipulator herself and being coldly ruthless is a force to be reckoned with - but she’s immature and sees the world in a childishly black and white way. I will agree that Roy Batty is a better antagonist, but to say that one of the greatest ‘villains’ in cinema history is better isn’t exactly an insult. I love Sylvia Hoeks’ performance in this film, and honestly I think the character of LUV is pretty good too, simple but effective.
I'm sure spamming the comments section of unrelated youtube clips with religious platitudes in all caps will have people flocking to your faith in no time. Really doing the Lord's work here.
When exactly is he coming, 'cos I've a lot of shit to be repenting. I need some sort of time frame so I can fit it all in, I'm so busy with work and family and all that.
For the gospel reveals how God puts people right with himself: it is through faith from beginning to end. As the scripture says, “The person who is put right with God through faith shall live.” Romans 1:17 GNBDK
I'm a Christian but this is just spam, man. It's lazy to copy and paste the same message in every random video. It's not how you win people to Christ, it's just annoying. Blocked and reported.
