I just completed this game. In some ways the game is a bit dated, as in, there are times where I had no idea what to do, but always eventually figured it out. In other ways, this game is incredibly forward thinking, with the amount of variation of plots, endings and story lines - it's a little bit like a rogue-like point and click, taking cues from the Last Express. The vibe of this game is brilliant. For a game that's so old, I gotta give it a solid 9/10.
well its a point and click, these games were all about figuring out stuff, or like me at some point just getting a guide lol. I still have the big box pc edition from 1997 here. I also got the GOG version of the game which makes it easier for me for me for run. The Enhanced Edition doesnt look good ..
I'm not sure if it would have made any difference without redoing the entire game. With pre-rendered backgrounds that wouldn't be enhanced at all and so that would just leave the characters which wouldn't have been any higher resolution at that time either. '97 was still very much the early days. Losing the source code definitely is a huge blow though.
I remember playing this back in the 90’s on my Dad’s PC and becoming completely stuck 😂 tempted to try it again now but I’m worried It will reveal that I’m even less intelligent now than I was as a child…
i was a huge Westwood Studios fan in the 90s (command and conquer games and Nox) but i never got to play BladeRunner and i always regretted it. i finally got it today for the PS
Hi, ExHardcore Gamer. I guess a game with the option of several different endings, is a nice ironic comment on all the many versions of the movie itself. But even the happy-end cut is still a scifi classic (me prefering the open-end one!). Thanx for the in depth review. bonté

Loved the first game on PC. Only point and click I've ever finished. Disappointed it's running so bad. As soon as it's patched, I'm in there. I'm willing to give the devs some time as they had to rebuild the whole gsme from scratch.
Rebuilding from scratch definitely hurt the project for sure. It seems they're still working on it too so I give them credit for not dumping and running.
I never actually got into the original film or the original game. While it's nice that there was an attempt to create an enhanced version, it's a shame that it's been let down by the current drawbacks it has and it still seems like people are better off playing the older version. Here's hoping it gets sorted out later down the line. Thanks for another great review.

The Ps4 version is loaded with glitches. Certain scenes must be played over again to access parts of the map. The alley next to Chews lab is one of them. You need to ask the right questions to gain access to parts of the map. Frustrating 😔
@@princesmith8008 They did a patch back in February which was the first since July of the previous year. It has less bugs but it still doesn't look great and you're better off just playing the original version.
