The kind words have been overwhelming! This one's for you! (especially Kyle)
Thanks for the thought and work you've put into these. I've got ADD and this helps me focus and be productive rather than constantly distracted. You've genuinely made my life calmer, happier and better. Thanks again.
I found this just 48 hours ago and already done a dozen pages of creative writing to it and changed my computer backgrounds to a rotating collection of images of cyberpunk and future apartments and cityscapes
The future is already here, you just need to be aware of the parts you are experiencing. We don't have offworld colonies, but we do have smartphones with instant communication with people on the other side of the planet. We have private companies doing groundbreaking work in space exploration. We have self driving cars and genetically altered babies. An entire library of music fits on a piece of plastic the size of a postage stamp. The future is here.
Your videos motivated me and (in some sense) gave me the sounds and ideas, to start writing short sci-fi stories, inspired by the current events and by some of the greatest works of Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke and, of course, Philip K. Dick. I listen to your music for relaxation and inspiration! Thank you!
There seems to be a lot of these Blade Runner ambient efforts on RU-vid but I like yours best because you haven't overdone it. It's just very serene, understated and generally perfect. Thanks for all the time you must have put into it. I wonder if you have Czech ancestors? The Czechs are so poetic.......
Thank you for the compliment! I began working on this project as a direct result to being underwhelmed by what was available elsewhere online, and just wanted to make something that I could personally enjoy. I have Slovak ancestors, if that counts?
Well you certainly made a good job of it and brought much pleasure to many people. Slovakia is a beautiful country that seems to have slipped under eveyone's radar for some reason. For the record, I'm half Estonian, half Japanese, but brought up on the mean streets of South London. The universe is expanding but the world's getting smaller! Best wishes from sizzling Tokyo. R.J.
For years now I have occasionally put this in the background; for reading, for work, for gaming, for sleep - probably for hundreds of hours in total. Thank you for creating this! Your 2048 version is great also. Amazing work.
2048 was the sequel to 'in the mood for love'. check it out. casta diva was a highlight. great soundtrack to 2048. 2049... whos counting? insomnia brought me here. counting electric sheep doesnt work
Over two years after this was released, and it's still my go-to for a relaxing, dreamy ambience. Thank you, Ryan, not to mention Ridley Scott and Vangelis!
I just woke up from 6 hours of solid sleep listening to Blade Runner 2049 Meditative Ambience with City Sounds - I don't believe I was awake more than 10 minutes before falling asleep!
@@georgehenderson7783 This track is still one of my favourites. If you can, read Ryan's notes about how he stretched the music and layered the sounds. It's fascinating.
I believe for many people it's half the nostalgia back towards the time the film was released. And half the fantasy of floating through this kind of dystopian world while being untethered to it, which creates this sort of interesting contrast that is inspiring to me. Also, the constant yet soft rain sound evokes the feeling of something greater than some of the mundane bickering that is going on in the background. I don't know, perhaps something along those lines.
@@holysecret2 I am a huge fan of Blade Runner since I watched it in 1982 and I've been listening to the original Vangelis soundtrack for many years now. I just discovered this incredible sound mix that takes us back deep into one key element that makes the movie such a masterpiece: the athmosphere, i.e. a unique blend of softness, darkness, dream, lightness, melancholy, hope, loneliness, ... But besides this effect, surprisingly, I found this track to be a good way to deal with my eco-anxiety, that is my fear of the collapse of human society due to the consequences of climate change, loss of biodiversity and all the catastrophies our current way of living is creating. This dystopian future is the context of the film and maybe that listening to theses sounds help me to face my fears and accept our fate. "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."
Like another poster pointed out... what makes this so good is, its very subtle. Not so boombastic you can't sleep to it. Brief pauses to the background noises, so its not constantly throwing sound bit after sound bit at you which can be distracting. I LOVE THIS!
@@maninblack6575 it doesn't take a genius to figure out the premise of the movie, you moron. I'm just appreciative of the mental image Roy is describing.
I love how you used the "Rachel's Theme" track from the 1994 soundtrack release, slowed down. This was one of my favorite tracks from that version. It sets the tone for this so perfectly.
I have to tell you, even if you don't see this, your work here has helped me so much over the last couple years. It's very hard to sleep peacefully or even concentrate where I live right now. I'm moving soon but for the time being I seriously play this every day, at least twice while I'm either in bed or trying to write. You're honestly helping me stay sane with this particular video, thanks man! Merry Christmas!
So this is the go to source for relaxation for both my wife and I. When either is having trouble sleeping we put this on. In fact, even on our honeymoon next to the ocean, we closed the door to shut out the waves and would sleep to this. Amazing work! By chance, do you have a version that’s just city sounds and rain, without the music?
I've been listening since summer 2018 (I needed something to help me relax while studying for the bar exam). Now, it gets me to sleep every night. Thank you!
my lucid dream got better when i stoped have side help, i think most important is questioning reality several time a day, so you bring the habbit to question reality in your actual dream. but yea some brain wave this that sure... but brainwave all you like if you just accept dream as realiter, your still stuck in a normal dream
I played this through my earphones whilst sleeping last night and had the most vivid dreams. Glided through a dystopian looking neon lit city exactly like that of Bladerunner's LA, it was quite spectacular and realistic. Great video!
Gary is quite right to ask Danny. If you combine a few of the current theories in Neuroscience about the electro-magnetic energy within the brain having transmutationational qualities (being more than one thing at a time as well as different places) which has given strong evidence that astral-projection may soon be quantified. So, who knows? My suggestion? Do what I do when I find myself in a similar dream-state. Look for specifics. Names of places, advertisers, even makes and models of vehicles you don’t recognize. My favorite is looking for dates. Any phony dream book will tell you that it is difficult for your mind to supply dates. The reason they give is that dates are kept in a separate area from the area you use for dreaming. When I’m in a lucid dream I often find myself searching for newspapers or a calendar. I’m still trying...
@@andrewlambert7464 Read a book An Experiment with Time Author's name is Dunn. Recording one's dreams in 2 ways in about 3 months supposedly one can confirm pre seeing things way before like snippets from past dreams.
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this! It is like walking down a Blade Runner amusement park blvd, so immersive. As someone else noted, the nuanced and subtle inclusions of the Blade Runner sounds is exquisite.
I've listened to this countless times as a background to whatever else I was doing and only now read the description to learn it is the actual soundtrack slowed down. Great idea, amazing sounds! Thank you for uploading this.
I want to listen to this in a flying car on a rainy night over the neon lit cityscape, stuffing my face with a bowl of noodles. Then i can see things you people would'nt believe! Time to fly. :))
look forward to that! There's so much material in the original extended soundtrack... you could do a couple more using just that! Love your work. Just what I need to help tackle the stacks of work on my desk.
Thank you SOOOO much for putting this (and the other one) together!! Blade Runner has long been my all time favorite movie and this is a great way to immerse myself in that movie's world while reading or working!
This music is lovely, it really helps with just relaxing and forgetting about problems. So take the time it took you to listen this, and forget that you have any problems 💖💖💖
This is the video I most played in YT ever. What an amazing, peaceful and ambient sound. Perfect for the beggining of the night when you're alone at home. Thanks!
Hey man.. Uh. Thank you for this. This soundscape is exactly what I need. I'm particular about the kinds of sound I can tolerate but this is the perfect mix of nature and reality that feels normal? I'm glad you did this and gave it for free in the drive. But I keep coming back to stream it when I'm at home. It's helpful. Bless.
Thank you very much. I'm listing to it while at work. I literally can see me at the side of ol' Deckard on his balkony sipping whiskey out of a dirty tumbler. The rain is dropping from my face, cooling me off. Thank you again for this calm und subtle masterpiece.
