With great regrets, I inform that the maestro had passed away in the 17th of May 2022. Rest in peace Evangelos O. Papathanssiou aka Vangelis. You will be missed and never forgotten.
I wonder if he was mad. Most brilliant artist are certifiably insane. Madness perpetually walks hand in hand with geniuses. Most of these geniuses functions superbly like everyone else. They're chameleons.
The golden shimmer in her Eyes, absolutely genius..some seconds before, she admits, that the owl is artificial and you could see a nearly same shimmer in the owls eyes.
@@Falzeee are you sure it's a set? I think it's Frank Loyd Wright's *Hollyhock House* in Vermont canyon, Los Angeles CA. A lot of Bladerunner was shot on location, such as the scenes in the Bradbury Building downtown. You could be right, but I get a sense, from the ambiance of it, the scale, and what i know about Ridley Scott, that this was shot on location. I used to be a gaffer in L.A.
RIP Joe Turkel (Dr Eldon Tyrell), July 15 1927 - June 27 2022, age 94. I’d read somewhere that he fashioned the glasses himself for the role, which Ridley Scott picked Turkel for after seeing him in “The Shining” (Lloyd the bartender).
This literally was the only movie that really took me in, the beautiful sets and the lighting, the ambiance, the acting, so surreal yet real, my top movie of all time, wish I could see it again.
This is a great edit showing the film aligned to the sound track. I am using it as a cue analysis for a class. One of my favorite scenes from the film.
Deckard was not a replicant. He was a human becoming cold as an android. It took Rachael part human part android to help him become human again. That is the point of the book.
Thank you for uploading this edit. This sing is one of Vangelis' best works IMHO. Just listen to the musical figure - amazing, intelligent and innovative and more I cannot name now..... Increases your thinking subconsciously, at least I felt this way.... Your thoughts about this?
I always thought that Tyrell shouldn't ask those questions. A genius who makes those androids would surely know how that machine works. A machine that should discover if there is an empathy response... The book is about that, empathy and the biggest changes between the book of Dick and the film are in that direction, empathy. Androids are not capable of empathy...in the book.
I never made that connection between Dune and Blade Runner's soundtrack.. I just never heard it. But Hans Zimmer said once that one of his main inspirations is Vangelis. So maybe you can speculate on that
