I like how most of the roster is so obscure most people don’t even know it’s an Indie Crossover fighting game, and just think it has a few indie guest characters
Well shovel knight, cave story, Isaac, gunvolt, they're all relatively popular as far as indies go. Umihara Kawase's games go back pretty far as well if I recall correctly. Anba looks like the dude from LA Mulana which I remember as a sort of rage game from the early RU-vid days. I guess the one shown right after Gunvolt was someone from 2 or 3 because I don't remember her from the first one. Really the only one i don't recognize in any way (I know code of princess is also relatively obscure but the first four characters shown are from said game) is Piaa, who the hell even is that?
@@magoo2133 I honestly had no idea what it was until I grabbed it on a Steam sale. It's pretty fun. I'll probably put a few more videos up. I have Isaac's story mode up so far.
Love how absolutely massive Shovel Knight is in this game. What makes it even funnier is that Shield Knight is almost twice his size, which means she would be a behemoth compared to every other character here.
I still find it hilarious that Isaac of all folks is here And since pretty much you can do the story mode for all of them, they just get beaten by a crying infant😂
The Umihara Kawase games are characterized by the people as a cutesy puzzle game for wholesome people, so I am amazed that they would give her a bikini skin. Oh, she stabbing peeople to death? Ye, don't know where that came from.
The fact that the summer skin is an evil form is even more wild, but hey, it confused me enough to try Umihara Kawase & try to figure out what’s going on (I still don’t understand, but had fun).
@@-AirKat-umihara kawase is not a cute puzzle game, it’s more of a bizarre platformer with hook mechanics, Kawase is part of my childhood and her Time Attack Speedruns might not be too famous but all are amazing to watch, She is a wandering chef as far as I remember, Enjoy the games as much as you want man :) I always wish theres a new entry in her saga.
Shovel Knight? Issac? Gunvolt? Quote? There are so many indie fighting games with crossover characters from other indies. But this is really making me want a full on Indie Smash bros.
Like the slow beats and heavy hitstop, and how the supers build off of previous versions. Sometimes I look at a super and think "are you sure you had to stop there?" And apparently these guys thought the same thing, especially with Quote, Quote just lays in and keeps going and does his level best to provide a very good answer to that question. Also Kayase crouching over and knifing the enemy a lot is a beautiful thing, love that kind of brutality. One day we'll have a meter burn super to keep thumping the other guy in the ribs and stomach with an exacto.
Super underrated fighter, i bought 3 copies cause they got 3 variant covers on Switch. I hope this isnt the end of Code of Princess, this was an unexpected crossover fighter but damn was it a weird and fun.
Damn... Kawasae's finishers where she's just going to town curbstabbing is...unnerving. I don't remember the plot of her games (or if it even had one) but now i'm curious.... Also.. love the Code of Princess crew being here (heck..everyone in this game really)
Woah, Soleil from Code of Princess? Disappointed that the game wasn't as _Guardian Heroes_ as it should have been, but meh, still glad I played it. Oh wow, and Ali, too!
It's a crossover fighter that Nicalis put out with all of their published properties at the time ... I had no idea what Kawase was from. I legitimately thought she was a horror character (based on her super moves) until I googled it. Totally surprised there.
Game would been more interesting with tag team mechanics like Blade Arcus, which was made by the same people.I’m still holding out for a large scale indie crossover fighter than isn’t a platform fighter.
I have never heard of this game, but I’m a huge fan of supers in games. Gotta say this game’s supers are kind of lacking though. :/ Thank you for putting this super move compilation together regardless.
Helen is soooooo Coool, I wish she had her own game after becoming one of the original characters in this game. Also it's nice to actually feel like WOAH that was a cool, bloody super with impact... not, whatever the heck MK or INJ is doing nowadays lol.
@@finisherm0ve I don’t think so. Not really many people online now anyways. Switch version could be more active. I think there’s an official Discord somewhere
Basically Isaac was published by Nicalis at the time, who are also the publishers of Blade Strangers and other franchises in there (Code of Princess, Cave Story, Umihara Kawase, 1001 Spikes).
