This series made its debut in the very first issue of the Belgian Tintin magazine in 1946. (Tintin, himself, had had his debut 17 years earlier.) E.P. Jacobs was also an assistant to Hergé on the early Tintin albums, but quit after Hergé refused to give him official credit. Hence the similarities in drawing styles.
