Brandon needs to sit down and shut up. His opinion is not needed. Women are allowed to call out bad behavior without someone saying, "You're not a feminist!!!", in defense of another woman's bad behavior. Blake turned this movie into the Blake lively show. I wish they had chosen someone else for the role.
He shows no shame in posting something like that, indicating that his career takes precedence over the concerns of women regarding Blake's downplaying of dv. This speaks volumes about his character.
Brandon’s statement really pissed me off. Trying to turn this into a sexist thing when most of the people calling Blake out are women and Blake is the anti woman person in this situation. You can tell he’s betting on Blake and her husband to boost his career. I hate people like this they are in the general public workplace too pushing colleagues who stick up for what’s right down to suck up to the boss.
He's obviously sticking his arse to the nepo babies. Cos remember at the red carpet when his wife was being greeted by Blake and everyone went how Blake is a girl's girl 🙄🙄🙄🙄 then, Brandon had to reply under an IG reel explaining the situation on how anxious he was on the whole spotlight and to include his wife in the phototaking. basically Blake has his back.
What shows me that Blake is not a girls girl is that fact that she treated that nice female reporter like trash and ridiculed her for asking her about her clothes but then when it’s a male interviewer she’s comfortable answering the questions about her pregnancy and her clothes and her outfit and how most of the shoes her character wears in the movie are actually hers 🤦♀️ double standard much?
No one is turning Blake into the bad guy it's the consequences of her own actions. It sucks that the only person who genuinely cared about focusing on DV was actually being made into the bad guy. It sucks that for once the man Justin Baldoni is actually doing the right thing and he's being attacked for it.
@@DisabledDoll the film is literally about DV so at least ~mentioning DV would have been appreciated and basic common sense imo - what I find incredibly crass instead is Blake using the press tour of a film about DV to market her own haircare line, among other things 🤦🏻♂️
@@Charlie_JHThis!! And the worst thing to market in a movie about DV is the leading actress marketing her ALCOHOL products!! Shameless and very tone deaf!!
It’s also a testament to how it’s not affecting his career. It’s so easy to be nice and that’s what Ryan Reynolds is so yeah, I think people have had it with rude celebrities.
Brandon's making himself look like an absolute clown by gaslighting us for rightfully calling Blake out for being a cruel and out of touch moron. Incredibly spineless. Him turning off his comments on the post is certified proof of that. He can dish it, but he certainly can't take it.
Gigglesnort exactly- I immediately get turned off when the comments are turned off, it comes off as completely disingenuous and having no credibility...or spine😂😂😝
I grew up in a domestic violence home. My mother, along with all the kids would get abused on a regular basis. My childhood memories are filled with mental, verbal, physical and emotional abuse until the age of 19. Blake Lively was not the right person to play a domestic violence victim. She is rude, hateful, self-righteous, and so obnoxious it’s not even funny. I was appalled at the way she giggled throughout most of the movie, or had a stupid smirk on her face. Even if the dialogue was serious. It was very disturbing! Domestic violence is not a laughing matter. She did not take her role seriously nor care about the movie. Domestic violence is not a romance novel. Even if the victim gets away, they end up with mental, and emotional trauma. Some even end up with permanent physical injuries. Shame on Blake Lively! She took a very traumatic subject and turned it into a joke. What an evil, heartless creature she is.
agreed but adding that the writer is pretty evil for glorifying these situations in her books too. it's all one big gross machine. I hope you are doing better and I'm sorry for how this woman is insulting victims of DV.
@@peachy_lili- yes, I agree about Colleen Hoover. She had no regard for domestic violence victims. She used a very traumatic subject for financial gain. Thank you, I am doing good. There is a reason for everything. God had plans for me all along. My difficult past has given me the strength and will to endure any obstacle or struggle of my present life. I have lost many loved ones. Both of my parents have passed on, along with a few siblings, and several other people whom I loved. It has been very difficult, but my strength has kept me going forward. My past reminds me that I am a survivor. No longer a victim. God is good indeed. He had a purpose for my life. 🙏🏼May God Bless you!❤
Seems counterproductive to gaslight millions of DV survivors calling out Blake's bad behavior, many of whom have been calling out CoHo for YEARS for romanticizing and fetishizing the situations that have devastated and -in some cases- nearly taken our lives. I think its W I L D that the entire internet is grossed out by Blake's generally nasty behavior on top of the way she's promoting this film but this *man* felt like it was okay to speak over our voices.
@@elizabethr4107 god, she really was Serena wasn't she. I thought it was a character but now I see she was just really good at playing a self-absorbed, vapid mean girl
Ok, I just wanna say, Brandon's statement (while I can tell he is trying to be nice and smooth things over) is pretty effing awful. As someone who has escaped an abusive relationship, people don't just "choose a better life for themselves". It's sometimes the hardest effing thing someone can do. Did not a single person on the cast or crew think to consult an abused woman's advocacy group or a mental health professional or a single person who has been through something like this? Or anything like that?! My god. I can't with these people anymore. Ammy, thanks for covering this ridiculousness. The only thing that'll get through their thick skulls is if we don't give BL or CoHo any money.
💯 agree with you! Ironically the one person to be advocating for any groups is Justin, and he’s in the process of being axed out of the second film 🧐 🤨 xx
This Brandon guy said that we're vilifying women. It is profoundly baffling to me that he thinks he can get away with gaslighting us. Signed, a DV survivor.
Blake Lively is a B-minus actress. The only reason there is any hub-bub around her at all is because she’s Mrs RR. That’s it. Feminism ain’t about who you’re married to. Like who cares.
Blake chose to act that way in front of a camera. Any negative result from that is not a result of Kjersti’s actions, bc the only thing Kjersti did was decide to not hide someone else’s bad behavior towards HER
Blake knowing that journalists cannot/will not publish unflattering moments with her is really just her being in a longstanding cycle of making her own attitude and actions be someone else's burden to deal with. That explains a lot about her, really.
Kind of interesting if you think about it... her movie is about cycle of domestic abuse but she pretends it's about something else just like she's mentally manipulative/gaslighting and totally disregarded the interviewer feelings and she pretends everything is OK. Lol does that make sense I'm like half asleep 😂
Blake can do this because she is married to Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Swift's BFF, and a nepo baby. Her behavior is nothing new with celebrities, but people are over celebrity culture and worship; it is refreshing!
I also LOVE that Brandon's statement is about "internet haters" who are "hating on women" (totally gaslighting the plethora of DV survivors who are calling Blake out), but his statement totally ignores the fact that Blake's entire history was bullying other women.
@@FPHC33 Worst of all, Lively and Hoover are deliberately downplaying the DV theme because they are marketing hair care, cocktails, nail polish, and adult colouring books on the back of this film.
No, Brando- boy, you can't turn this around on us. We criticize Blake for her interviews where she downplays dv. We aren't particularly concerned about what's happening with Justin; that was just a side note in the discussion. Most of us are justifiably upset with Blake for her foolishness, similar to Colleen. If her mom came out strongly, that's great, and I genuinely commend her for that. However, to trivialize the subject of this movie and smile at the camera while saying 'wear florals' is inappropriate. This isn't a concert for your best friend Taylor, Blake. We don't vilify Blake; those of us who have experienced dv, or witnessed our moms, sisters or friends go through it rightfully criticize her.
These women decided to promote hair products, nail polish and weird colouring books, etc... for easy $$$ during the launch of a film that should have been addressing the topic of DV 100%. It’s tone deaf and disrespectful to all DV survivors....(men and women) to say the least. I feel very sorry for the director/ actor Justin ... however happy to see his wise decision to keep a low profile during this drama. Hopefully the truth will resurface at a later date.
Brandon couldn't have put together more than 5 sentences even if he wanted to. That post is Ryan's PR working overtime to detract from criticism of his wife.
She's being called out because she tried to downplay the problems of thousands of women - survivors of DV. If she were just a bully to the director nobody would care much
She seems to genuinely believe them too. Like it’s one thing when a 15-year-old is checking to see if they have good luck on the day of their test. It’s another thing to be in your midlife, genuinely believing that it defined your personality. Madness
Justin was the one who bought the rights because of the 'power' of the story. Lively got herself a producer role, which is often given as part of the the leads contracts as a vanity salve. She used it to hijack the man's own movie, because she could, because of who she is married to. Now she is destroying the man. She has basically recruited everyone on the production because of who she is married to Its absolutely disgraceful and truly vile. I hope he refuses to sell the rights to the sequel and stops her in her and Hoover's tracks.
I'm very confused on why there's a movie made of one of Collen Hoover's work. I see so many RU-vid videos of people who read her books and ALL OF THEM say is absolute TRASH writing 😂
@@zoebidwell720 Agree, and much like she used her dad to get parts, riding Ryans coattail to get noticed. No reason to have Ryan and Hugh in the marketing. She hijacked the director and person who had movie rights. Blake... it's not your movie. Good luck to who directors her next.
Yep. People are afraid they’re going to get Kesha’d by Sony Pictures. Sick, sick capitalism masquerading as women’s empowerment. Justin seems like the only ‘theatre kid’ in this production. I am SO sad Jenny Slate is choosing Blake’s side. She was one of my favourite comedians of the 2010s.
Wow Justin hasn't even spoken out-he's been nothing but professional despite BL's ridiculous claims, but he is clearly being black balled in Hollywood. No real life consequences for Blake.
The way he says blake is ready to direct reads to me as kind of passive aggressive... its like hes saying "she's already taken full control of THIS movie! Let her try to direct AND star and a whole movie and see how she likes it!!" Because my god that sounds like a lot of work!
I think it’s warranted though, he’s supposed to be in charge. Her input is valid but she shouldn’t be bringing in her dang husband and talking ish about petty stuff going on behind the scenes
The director saying "I thibk Blake is ready to direct," is a nice way of a director saying that an actor is overbearing and wont let him do his job, imho, as former theatre major who emphasized in directing.
Guess what? There are videos out there now about Ryan Reynolds cheating on Scarlett Johansson with Blake Lively . So not only is she a mean girl, she was also a mistress.
All women do not have to support or like each other, similar to the way that men don’t have to support or like each other… it is unrealistic to always be a “girls girl” and sexist because men never don’t get the same feedback…
Tale as old as time. Pretty rich igirl, most popular egg etc. She can say whatever she wants. People still fawn all over her. Yawn. Love your videos Ammy
Blake Lively playing the victim in a domestic violence movie is a fun twist when the reporter’s video shows what an abusive narcissist Blake Lively is. Oh dear…
The second book is pretty boring. It’s the love story of Blake(Lilly) and Brandon(atlas). I had to force myself to finish it. I think they need to end it here. With people not loving Blake I don’t see how it would even work.
I don't know but something in the face of interviewever during that video reminds me of several situations where I was to myself "is this really happening?" "are they being rude?" "if I say something is going to be too harsh?"
I used to work with DV survivors in a shelter.. and the way she is promoting this is a fucking slap to survivors and it shows a huge lack of compassion and understanding smh
@@n.r.m.15 nope smh.. she could have gone to see for herself, maybe donate or start a charity ect.. but no let's talk about her dumb hair care line 🤦♀️
“Be kind” is enraging. So condescending. It’s undermining and silencing voices who deserve to push back against this disgusting exploitation of suffering. Seriously, selling alcohol and fashion to promote a DV film?? Tone deaf doesn’t BEGIN to cover it.
the thing with blake her career is only still thriving because of who she is married to ryan and who is friendship group mostly taylor unless you actually watched gossip girl and religiously follow her other than those already listed you wouldn't know who she is so hearing reporters being terrified of her is truly baffling to me because i wouldn't call her an a-lister celebrity it's just her connections.
He says that Colleen Hoover is responsible for saving DV survivors lives. Like... C'mon. She romanticizes DV. That's her whole thing. The book is about a love triangle white knight situation. And she turned it into a marketing scheme to sell products. Everything I need to know about how well written that book is, is the fact that the main character is a florist named "Lily Bloom", and her husband is named Ryle, and he gets riled up a lot! Like, C'mon. Come on!
Blake shouldnt have been cast as Lily in the first place, there should’ve been someone not so well known for this role. It was so clear that with Blake it would become all about her and Ryan Reynolds because that’s how they do marketing
You cannot argue that Blake is very rude to the journalists**** that cannot be defended, we all saw it and we saw that she aligns herself with people who participate in the trolling. Generalizing this behaviour to behind the scenes of the movie is not a stretch
WTF Sony, 12 movies with her? Hahahahaha suuuure only women who can actually act can age gracefully through Hollywood and she is not one of them. No way am I buying that hahahaha really I can't stop laughing.
Support Justin Baldoni's other projects, but this I can't. Not since Collen Hoover is involved and her books romanticize toxic relationships and her son was accused of assault and she has tried to cover it up. Then with Blake acting like this and her history, i won't go and in truth I hope many don't either. Save your money, the economy is a mess anyway, or if you have spare money donate the money you would have spend on a ticket and popcorn to a women's shelter instead.
I dont really care about Justin tbh. I think what happened there sucks, but they use him as like a shield to try and dance around Blakes bad behavior. Oh he was mean!! Blake you're still being disrespectful to abuse victims, making light of the topic, and being rude to people. On top of this, other cast are making this into a sexism issue when women call you out. Even if Justin is a huge asshole, you're not a good person either.
Blake is a nobody without her husband. How is she the perfect professional "director" when she has spent the last decade having 4 children & being a full time mom?
I saw Brandon's statement yesterday and I thought it was horrible to leave Justin out. Hollywood sure does cater to a few and in this case I don't even believe it's about Blake but rather about Ryan and not pissing him off.
I’m very disappointed w Blake .. so rude , she talks over people , cuts them off and completely ignores the interviewer while talking to the other guest like she doesn’t exist. Her costars exhibits the same mean girl vibe when they are w her . Did you see Parker Posey rolling her eyes after the interview ? Even Anna Kendricks who seems like a nice person got on the mean girl wagon . I know Blake and hubby are very private couple but they are in the wrong business.. it took them a long time to reveal the sex of their youngest child , so when she was asked about her bump, she was triggered and the real Blake lively was exposed .
12:33 Disappointed with Anna. But I am a girl's girl through and through. I also have been following because I liked Jenny Slate. But the franchise is not trilogy worthy to me. The actual book just comes off like early 2000s Lifetime movie and has been done. I am still salty about the Lively/Reynolds "relationship" timeline and the success of the trifflers, so this just finalized my disinterest in supporting their projects.
I had googled Kjersti Flaa and she is not just any reporter either. She has a whole website and has some major accomplishments. But also, she has actually had some lawsuit against the Hollywood foreign press which does prove that she is not loved in Hollywood despite the fact that she has interviewed the greatest most famous actors which you can see in her shorts on YT!
No, gaslighting Brandon. Sir, you not even tagging your DIRECTOR, Justin Baldoni, is enough to tell us that you picked BL (aka Plantation Barbie) to protect your career because of BL & RR’s connections in Hollywood. We lost respect on you, as well!
😂😂❤ LMFAO you need a warning for your sponsor thing. I had you on my tv and now the almost six year old keeps asking me what you were playing with 😂😂😂❤ I'm dying
This is how I interpret Brandon's statement: "PLEASE BLAKE I WANT TO BE IN THE SEQUEL. COLLEEN PLEASE I BEG YOU! I WANT TO BE AN EMPLOYED ACTOR. I'LL DO A PUBLIC STATEMENT TO PROVE TO YOU THAT I AM ON YOUR SIDE."
What Blake did to the interviewer is exactly the same as what she's now doing to Justin - grouping people against them - it's a pattern of bully behavior
I am confused on how authors like Coleen Hoover, E L James get movies made from their story when not even the writing is good. The story is stretched and the names are forced, like name someone baby sister made for her puppets. I am not some big critic but after reading some books, I can say I will never watch the movie or buy any more books from authors like these. Their work getting this kind of attention is a slap in the face of real writers. Just my opinion, no need to hate.
It's not that it’s a cool kids click, its the Swifties! If people start speaking against Blake, they’ll turn this around and make it about the fact that she’s a woman. They would say a man who acts the same would never receive that sort of backlash in the industry. And if her bestie Taylor Swift starts speaking out about it being discrimination against women, her army would destroy sony. If the people want to cancel her, it would need to be the people’s court, mob rule🤷🏻♀️
To your point, Brandon is trying to secure his place in the sequel because Atlas is a way bigger part in the second book. The protection mean spirited people get in this industry is wild!
