A remake would be a disaster. What is it that people don’t understand when we had the best cast already, no matter what was thrown at a remake it would be so much less. Specially in an age of virtual signalling. Just look how Dr Who has been all but ripped apart.
Oh, this was beautiful and brilliant - a wonderful tribute. I got shivers watching this one. Brilliant work. I always go back to 'The Story of Avon and Blake' over the years - I cry. And I always go back to Blake's 7 Hollywood Style and cry again. Thank you for these great tributes.
Essential viewing growing up. I’m not sure a modern remake would work today - there’s something very special about B7 just as it is. Just awesome! CONFIRMED! ;)
@@Goodiesfanful yes I think so. Let’s face it - a new B7 over 40 years after the original would need to be so removed from the original you might as well not call it B7! What made it so great wouldn’t work today.
I sometimes think that FarScape was a B7 remake for the 2000s. Ok, Maybe not a remake so much as "inspired by". It certainly felt like B7 had a lot of influence on it anyway.
Blake,s Seven was an awesome science fiction series in billions of ways a shame it ended and also a shame the arch-enemy Servalan herself was omitted from the final ever B7 episode and also she was the best character in B7 having a female arch-enemy was awesome
Not sure the legality but really surprised no major studio has acquired the rights. The late Paul Darrow tried his hardest as I recall to get momentum and its a huge shame he never got to reprise his role in one shape or another. Then again with all the ideological maelstrom surrounding much of the big studio management and content it might be best to run silent until someone with a deep passion gets to grips with B7 once more.
He did get to reprise the role in the audioplays, which featured most of the original cast First one was called Warship, and filled in the gap between seasons 2 and 3 The quality of the material is great, he absolutely would have been the man to helm a remake/reboot and keep it true to the original
I thought Colin Baker was awesome as Bayban in city at the edge of the world IMO he should have been cast as Blake he would have been an awesome Blake in billions of ways and had Colin played Blake he would have been a completely different Blake from Gareth Thomas and also Colin Baker had he played Blake would never have left B7 after series 2 and that would have meant that series 3 and 4 if we got a series 4 would never have had Tarrant in as a member of the crew .Tarrant only came along because Blake went
Colin Baker was a horrible Doctor and would have made an even worse Blake. He was fine here hamming it up in a one note role, but that's as much a contribution to Blake's Seven as we needed from him.
I certainly would have said series 3 of B7 is definitely better than series 2 and also the arch-enemy Servalan as the president is awesome in billions of ways and I am glad Servalan as the regular villain no longer as to deal with Travis who should really gone out of B7 at the end of series 1 instead of been continued in series 2 with a different actor. I would always say that series 2 of B7 would have been better served if a different character with a totally new name had been created to replace Travis as the arch-enemy Servalan,s henchman that would have done series 2 of B7 more trade in billions of ways
Season 2 had the cool overarching story about finding Star One, but season 3 was overall better (and did a great job carrying on with the serialisation, very ahead of its time)
