Greetings from Canada Ray! 🍁 Haven’t been on my phone much this last week and 1/2. Went to the city to one my daughters. Had her two cats out in the yard all day every day with me. Definitely won them over. Hoping I’ll have my first grandchild this time next year. 😂 Always nice seeing one of your posts. The Abbey is impressive, both inside and out. 859 years old. I would have loved to have a peek at some of those gravestones. I did go to Derwent Reservoir for a brief evening visit on the Durham side. Don’t recall much about it, so it’s nice to see your excellent footage. Blanchland is a pretty little village. The changing of the leaves makes it more so. Ty as always for taking the time out to go on these little adventures and sharing with us all. I not only learn so much (history is my thing), but, as you know, I’m equally enthralled by the landscape. Love the tidbit about the pub and the hiding of the Jacobite general. I’d have to go in just for that fact alone. lol. As much as I do enjoy the colours of fall, I have to admit I get a bit down once the 0 temps start and winter is coming. It’s the in between. I’m more “accepting” of winter’s fate once it has finally settled in. What choice is there? 😂 You and Alf snuggle down and stay warm and healthy. Til next time friend! ❤🇨🇦🇬🇧🤗😊
Hiya Jill, 👋😃 great to hear from you. I have say I was starting to worry a bit but I’m glad all is well 🙏 I bet you had fun with the cats, I think that’s what Alf 🐈⬛ misses, a playmate. I don’t often read the gravestones but one thing I do tend to notice is how young many of them were. Short lives for many sadly. You will know the size of Derwent Reservoir which I thought was huge but upon checking, Kielder is about 10 times the volume/size 😱 I did cycle around it a few years back, it was around 23 miles but felt like 123 🤣🤣 Blanchland has been used for a few TV series including Vera (not sure if you get that over there) it is a very popular village with tourists. I should have gone in the pub when I was there to get some quick footage of that fireplace, I’m not sure it was open when I was there although the signs were outside. There is so much history here as you know, it’s hard keeping up with it all 😂 Good luck to your daughter, I wish her an easy 9 months until Grandma can take over 🤣👶🍼 More rain forecast here tomorrow but hopefully Thursday will be a better day to get some fresh air 😊 Look after yourself, keep warm and keep safe, catch you soon 🤗❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧🥰
