Gotta say I’m glad I found your channel. I’ve always liked tequila got bad headaches and never understood the difference between them. I moved up and have been drinking patron and cassamigos But upon your recommendation the only one I could find was Tequila Ocho. I’m very impressed I like it a lot can’t wait to try more of the brands you recommend.
Nice video I always wondered I knew some of the info but didn't know how long the anejo was actually aged for. Always great to be educated by a pro. Thanks My Friend.
I did a tequila tasting in Cozumel, Mexico while on a cruise 5 years ago and our excursion guide told us about this alittle bit. He did not go in as much depth on the classes of tequila, but he did however explain the difference between tequila and mezcal. He did tell us what tequila we were tasting and I found that I like reposado style. I’m not a huge tequila fan, but I did buy a bottle of 1800 reposado and I realized that I could actually tolerate it sipping it near! Never did that with a tequila until after I came back from that trip. Thank you sir for explaining the aging process and it explains why my pallate favors reposado.
Lui, thanks for this video man. Helped me prepare for an interview I'm about to do for a magazine with a company making a tequila. I'm going to subscribe because of the thoughtful, down to earth yet direct way you create your videos.
Repos and anejos (xa) are the only ones I buy to sip on.. I love the barrel influences on each different additive free tequila and I find them (smoother) than the blancos. Especially when they use 2 or more different barrels 😋
If I ever get rich I'm making a rep that was aged in TX barrels i feel like it would take on all the vanilla and chocolate covered banana notes in the tequila sounds soo delicious
I’ve heard Tequila and Agave spirits should be drank right off the still. I kind of see the sense in that because the pure Agave flavor is there. To be honest if I want something with a barrel I just drink Brandy or Whiskey. Reposado Tequila is great in fruity cocktails and Anejo is good for spirit forward cocktails like Oaxaca Old Fashioneds
Correct was recently surprised how the extra añejos are much better but the cristalinos are all priced at a higher premium. But aside from taste would like to know what exactly makes them different
@@Fl33ftr they are just charcoal filtered anejos and extra anejos. It's a great way to cover up a crappy product and charging people so much more for it. It basically removes all of the best parts about aging a tequila
I think cristalinos are the biggest scam and rip off in all of tequila. They are filtering and removing all the best parts of an aged tequila and selling it at a crazy price.
I mean over the course of two years of uploading videos it changes currently it's Arette and Cimarron. Both have been my well for the last 8 months or so (with Cimarron being in there for the last 2 months)
