I remember this song when it first came out. It hit me straight in the deepest parts of my soul. I listened to it over and over again. That same year my entire life changed. I went through a divorce, moved back to my home country and started a new life. This song was the theme of that time. I actually had to stop listening to Blanco White for a while because some of his music was tied to some incredibly emotional times for me that when I played the music it was an actual physical experience, where I could literally feel my heart being squeezed by the raw power of it, and the memories it was tied to. I just played this song again for the first time in months. It still hits just as emotionally hard at the heart. Some music and artists are meant to awaken every emotional fiber in your body and soul. Blanco White is one of those artists. Thank you for sharing your soul. Never stop!
One week ago I was struck by a sudden overnight hearing loss. It's left me permanently deaf to my left ear. This was the last song I will ever hear in stereo. So glad it was such a good song. ❤
I'm late to Blanco's party, but just have to echo some of the sentiments shared here. Hauntingly beautiful music, exquisite instrumentation and arrangements, and Blanco's voice has no parallel for it's richness and magnetism. Just awesome!
I never listened to an artist so quite often. Your voice is touching beautiful, the combination of instruments, all very great musicians. The vocals of the woman fit yours so well. The lyrics, gosh written on the soul. Amazing artists, again and again, tireless listening to so much deep touching beauty. hell, i just gave up trying to get away from listening to these new artists, but they pulled me in w/ unique voices, sounds, string accompaniment, orchestration and haunting sounds of minor chords. this group is just as wonderful as the previous two that i have heard and for the same reasons. love to have them perform @memphis in may live stage production and some other national u.s. music venues. guys, don't give up! sounds much like a ballad in the folk tradition---sort of gordon "lightfootish!"---i mean that w/ the greatest respect to both him and ya'll, and that ain't bad company for either one.
