I honestly thought this was going to be a flop. I thought the Moonswatch was a flop... but it wasn't. I think I get it now. Swatch is doing it once again! They're making watches relevant again to an audience far removed from the concept of wrist watches! Bravo Swatch! This might be my first BlancPain!
Watch snobs are going to mock it in public. And then they are going to go out there and purchase every one of the collection in private. These watches are a home run for swatch and blancpain. The designs are amazing. People will be paying double the retail for these on the gray market when they come out I guarantee it. I really did not think swatch is capable of this. But good on them!
Fine by me, as long as they also keep the 45mm for those of us who like/need a larger watch. Not every watch out there over 42mm is "a mistake" by the brand, as I've heard many a person assert. As much as I would otherwise buy them, I steer clear of most Rolex because I find them too small. To each their own. But I 100% agree with you on the plastic observation.
Bought my ocean of storms recently as my first mechanical watch and I love it. For those people said this is overpriced plastic and blah blah blah, it has Blancpain’s brand name on there of course it’s expensive. This collab inspired me to get a really Fifty Fanthoms someday and it’s done its jobs. A lot of people can’t even afford a real one
Mechanical, interesting. Shame after managing to get hold of a Moonswatch that they saved a mechanical release for the Blancpain watches. I know it's all marketing, but I'm still being drawn in😂
The real deal Blancpain Fifty Fathoms will be sucked in the Hype and prices will start climbing . With this said: Snatch them from the market and be fast!
I wasn't that bothered about the Moon Swatch but this has really caught my attention and I think is going to be great for Blancpain... get ready for the storm of interest in Blancpain.
Looks great, nice specs, mechanical, pretty good WR, funky colours, exhibition caseback. Totally cool....... But will I be able to buy one? Or will it just be another Moonie mass marketing mayhem moneymaking melee maybe???????🤔😁
Awesome colours! That movement is stunning! Finally the diver I always wanted. ❤❤❤ I'm gravitating towards the black & yellow, but the white & red will go nicely with my Mission to Mars
Actually incredible, sadly I live in NH and there isn’t a swatch store until New York City I think. And even if I showed up tomorrow there is now way I can get One. PLEASE LET ME BUY IT ONLINE, idc if it takes 3 months to show up.
Unless it's something I can open up and fix, I don't want to contribute more plastic waste to landfills. A citizen watch is more eco friendly and has proper use in diving at a similar price. Swatch really needs to stop making ready for landfill watches, at least make future releases serviceable.
Not trying to be a wet blanket here, but I just can't get behind this. Sorry. I'm typically a live and let live kind of guy, but for some reason this really bugs me. I think it completely cheapens the brand. I was actually planning to add a genuine FF to my collection by the end of the year, but this is causing me to rethink it. I liked that the FF was a little under the radar. Pure class for those in the know. Now, this spectacle. The design is just too similar to the real thing. If this was an Alie Express product, it would be an outright fake. I realize that the parent co. is the same here, but it is no less a design infringement. People plunking down 5 figures for a watch are not going to appreciate the association to a piece of plastic. For the most part I buy watches that I like and could care less what other people think. However, one cannot completely ignore the effect on one's own personal brand. Those of us watch geeks will know the difference, but to the casual observer... I don't want to hear from someone I deal with professionally that their 14 year old nephew was "the exact same watch". I'm sure a lot of people are thrilled to have the chance to own this. I'm also sure that Swatch Group will put some cash in the bank too. However, at what cost to a proper luxury watch brand in the long-term, after the hype fades?
The Speedmaster Professional enjoyed a significant increase in demand following the Moonwatch hype, hopefully the same will happen to the Fifty Fathoms with this one.
I am in agreement. I felt the Fifty Fathoms was a watch to aspire to. Now I am questioning what it is about the watch that actually makes it worth 15k when that is no longer the price of admission.
@@GrumblingForesight Omega fell from second place in Swiss watch revenue to third place behind Cartier in 2022 on the heels of the MoonSwatch. First half of 2023 financial reports show that Omega is currently an under performing asset in Swatch's portfolio. That may have turned out to be good for the Swatch brand but a decided negative for Omega. Swatch is free to strip out the appeal of it's icons for a quick cash grab if they want but I don't think the buyers of five figure watches think about this situation in the same way that inexpensive Swatch brand purchasers think about it. I have no plans to sell my current Blancpain but I have no intention of following through with any future expected purchases.
Agree, but surely it's better for Blancpain to profit from these legitimate homages rather than let those awful AliExpress clomages profit from their designs.
Huh I like the colors very eye catching the watch community at large has been wondering what the watches look like not ba d not bad at all let's see what the future holds⌚👌
They won't give you something close to the original. Because they want to sell you the original after this release.. Otherwise maybe there are some Aliexpress version
Now that's the proper way to do a Swatch Collab. This will supersede the Omega X Swatch collab which was a financial hit but a disaster in quality and execution.
Love it, want one - but not paying flipper tax & won't go to cess-pit London to get one. Such a shame it's store only, it just p*sses off the majority of potential customers!!!
As much as l like the watch, I'm hoping they figured out how to keep the lovely blue hues on the watch case itself, and not tranferring to my arm this go round.
Good job making a decent looking watch with the worst mechanical movement on the planet. Haven’t seen a user get more than 3 years out of a Sistem51 yet, although some quote 10-20 years. Yeah right, and my left nut is made of steel. You should at the very least offer a replacement program considering that price tag.
@@in2august507I know I'm just taking the piss out of it all. Who knows maybe swatch might start branching out into kitchen appliances at some point.. Yes we are pleased to introduce to you the all new Breguet do everything microwave ready to cook you something special in 'no time at all' with that amazing tourbillon crispomeprazole button you just can't go wrong can you..!
I would myself like a 120 hour Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe blue ceramic with arabic numerals in updated Zenith Pilot money range. That would be very sporty.
