I was a chauffeur for 6 years. One of the best tips I got was from a gentlemen I picked up at LAX going up to Santa Barbara we had a great conversation about various spirits on our way to S.B. Then just before getting to our destination he asked me to pull into a Bevmo store in Ventura. When he came out he gave me my first bottle of Blantons. What an awesome gesture!
I live in Woodford County Kentucky nor far from Frankfort where Blantons is made and bottled. I’m not a big bourbon drinker but about 25 years ago, a friend asked me to participate in a blind bourbon tasting for a local magazine. Of about 5 different bourbons, I chose Blanton’s as my favorite. Enough of the other tasters also chose Blanton’s for it to win the tasting. I was intrigued so my friend and I went to the distillery to see how it was made. I’m not sure if the distillery was sold or not but back then it was owned by Ancient Age. Everything about how the bourbon was made and aged was the same as the bourbon from the other warehouses but the bourbon aged in the one particular warehouse described in this video produced a much superior bourbon. The gentleman who conducted us through the tour said that the warehouse was located close to the Kentucky river and the cool morning air that comes off the river was the reason this warehouse produced such a superior bourbon. I live on a horse farm about 15 miles from Frankfort, where the distillery is located and often when I come out in the morning I can smell the bourbon mash even that far away.
@@MrGmed1990 Very hard to find. The MSRP is around $65 but you’re lucky to find one for anywhere close to $100. The bourbon market has exploded in Kentucky. It seems like everybody and his brother has opened a new bourbon label. I’ve never seen anything like it before. There have never been so many different brands of bourbon on the market before. People are just buying a few barrels of bourbon and slapping a name on the bottle and presto you’ve got a new brand of bourbon. I can’t see how it will last. All the best brands go to Japan.
I live in South Carolina and Blanton’s is hard to find. When you do find a bottle it’s priced between $80 to $100 dollars. Occasionally you can find it for $60 at total wine.
Здравствуйте! Спасибо Вам за обзор производственного процесса. Давно хотел это увидеть. И хоть я не понимаю по-английски, но нас объединяет одна любовь к этому прекрасному и благородному напитку как виски!!! 👍
I'm fortunate to be able to see this, living up in the arctic wastelands of Alaska...even more so, as I have a full 'B' and 'L' bottle on my bourbon shelves...as well as 8 other bottles from the distillery. Never considered myself a bourbon lover, until this year...now I'm all in!
Quite easy to get in Australia. My goodness what a magnificent bourbon. Never mixed, only ever taken over ice. Love the deep rich vanilla caramel character, straight off the charred oak.
@@beerme8949 I started drinking Maker's Mark 46 like once a week. Just 2 oz. Not to get drunk, but to see what the hype is about. Also I think there are health benefits like killing bacteria in mouth and throat and also the same micronutrients in wine, but in higher quantities. I also seem to get more vascular too LOL. I drink it neat or with ice.
@@TraumaERI workout consistently. There absolutely nothing wrong with minimal alcohol consumption. I’m in college and have a lot of friends that consistently like to go out. I’m not a fan of feeling drunk and will have one drink on a Friday or Saturday just to feel a little more included. It helps finding things like this that can allow you to really enjoy the flavor of what you’re settling to have.
Was lucky to find Blanton's at a Sams Club in Phoenix area 2 months ago. I stopped in the day they got their delivery in and was shocked to see a bottle in the glass lock up case. Guy stocking shelves saw me looking at this and said they got 5 bottles in that day. Bought just 2 bottles and some Eagle Rare which just came in also. My lucky day. Oh yea the Blanton's was 44.95/bottle.
This is amazing bourbon, it’s not the best, but it’s amazing. Just got my second bottle ever 😋 Life is good when you don’t pay secondary prices on your favorite bourbons.
This brand is almost always available on the Japanese market. Just last week bought the Original, Straight From the Barrel, and Gold Edition with PLENTY on the shelves!
I lived in frankfort kentucky and would smell the mash bills cooking waking up in the mornings for school as I grew older I met a boot legger that worked in bottling and would get blanton at 20 a bottle and could get various bottles at barrel proof
This is by far the best bourbon I've ever had (so far). I buy it a few times a year at an amazing liquor store not far away from my house. I only pay $90. I once had Pappy Van Winkle at my friend's house, but I don't count it as the best because at that time I knew nothing about bourbons so I couldn't really appreciate it.
Yeaaa just bought it for $65 as well. Blantons isn't worth a penny more. It's a decent bourbon at best. Go grab yourself an Ancient Age if you want to save some money but still experience Blantons (same mash bill #2)
I'm curious if you've found any new favorites. Took me a while to get my first Blanton's. I have a few I like more that are easier to get. Rare Breed is my favorite right now with Woodford Double Oaked my favorite for the sweeter side of things. I don't think EH Taylor small batch is too far off of the quality of Blanton's. With the higher proof, lower price and better availability, I will reach for that first. What's your current favorite?
I love bourbon, but as a cheapskate I stick too Evan Williams bourbon. My grandmother use to make and run moonshine back in the 40s and 50s so I'm very much into homemade whiskey. One day if I'm rich I'll try the expensive stuff
The story I heard was that an officer had a bunch of barrels of white whiskey on his farm before he was called up to serve in the US Civil War and was gone for a couple of years. When he came back, the whiskey was still there, and when they tried it, they liked the flavor more than white dog.
@@samharris246 No, you can't. These are not easy to find. And specialty stores will sell you a bottle for a few hundred dollars. I pay $90 for it. There is a big liquor store not far away from where I live and I usually ask the guy at the counter if he has any Blanton's. He never puts it on the shelf. He keeps the case behind the counter and if you ask him he sells it to you.
Getting on the trendy train definitely drove this brand's rise to popularity - There are quite few stellar bourbons out there that don't succumb to the "Look at me., I'm all that.." vibe, "... \m/
At the end of the day, the market for Blantons is not really different from the market for concert tickets - there are those that exploit this market and gain profit for themselves. In the concert ticket market, they are known as ticket scalpers. The effect of both markets simply result in my not caring for seeing the concert or drinking the whiskey. There are too many other alternatives for the money...easy enough to ignore both markets. Cheers!
Does anyone know the different labels blatond comes in for japan. I heard about the black and gold labels, but I just wanna make sure its the right one.
Original Single Barrel, green label Special Reserve, 103 proof Gold Edition, and the uncut and unfiltered Straight From The Barrel, Blanton’s Poland Limited Edition (Blue Label), Japan's are black and red Takara labels
I usually prefer Scotch single malt over most other spirits but the Blanton’s bourbon (we get it with a golden horse here in Europe) is just a fantastic whiskey. Its flavor is much deeper and intense than any other bourbon I’ve tried in the past which includes Maker’s Mark, Bulleit, Jim Beam etc.
Hard to find, but worth the search. I try to keep one on tap and a back up as often as possible. The mash bill used is the same mash in several other lines from Buffalo Trace, so you can always find a bottle of this recipe somewhere. Cheers.
Pro tip: kitchen staff really appreciate being rewarded for their hard efforts... I gifted a bottle at a very nice Toronto kitchen... the bill was halved... the service was fit for a king
About a year or so ago, bottles were everywhere in Wisconsin, but sometime late last summer it all disappeared. By autumn, people are auctioning off bottles at $400+ for what I was buying in store for...$35? $40? I'm not _really_ a brand person, but I've loved everything I've had from Buffalo Trace. There must have been a bad year, or maybe something happened at the distillery? Otherwise, I think they may have shot themselves in the foot with this Blanton's scarcity.
Joe Momma I think it’s super smooth which is also why I think it’s a tad over rated but also still think it’s a good bourbon just not at some secondary pricing
I'm seeing a lot of comments like this. Is Blanton's really that hard to find these days? I haven't searched for it recently but I remember about 3-4 years back it was always available for around $50
It was a good bourbon at $62-$65 not at the $199 I've seen recently and that's only if you can find it. I'll stick with Eagle Rare at $40 or Buffalo Trace at $26
It is a $35 bottle marked up to $55. And now they are artificially creating demand through marketing and intentionally lowered production. I pass on it every time I see it. Mediocre.
Just picked up a bottle at the Buffalo Trace distillery on Wednesday (2-10-21) and the gift shop had it for $63. One problem - they on,y allow you to purchase one bottle every 90 days. Hopefully you can find it where you live.
I would love to sample this whiskey when it is not filtered...has to be so much richer and flavorful. I've taken the tour at Buffalo Trace and got to walk through the Blanton's bottling room while they worked...was really amazing. Like getting into Willy Wonka's factory.
☝️Bourbon Whiskeys Kentucky Straight Bourbon Michter's Eagle Rare Wild Turkey Knob Creek I got mine delivered to me in my house at good price. From an online wholesaler.. great taste ..
Hello riheg, thank you for your comment. Based on results obtained from a 3rd party lab, we can confirm that this product is free of detectable glyphosate residue. Have a good day, La Maison du Whisky
Glyphosate is used before the corn is planted, like in April. It is used so that No Till can be done, which does not disturb the soil. Farmers (like my brother) drive a grain drill over it that just fires a seed into a slit. The glyphosate is long gone once the corn plant emerges. It is then harvested 5 to 6 months later when the corn has matured and dried on the stalk.
