It is high time that the source of this problem- scholars like Sahil Adheem gets punished who feeds and encourages this behavior by state. I am all for free speech and difference of opinions but when it has become violent and full of hate to a point where people life, liberty, and property is at stake, it is treason and creating chaos in the society. buddy reality is that Muslim cannot remove their own biases.. Reality you can see the world oppresing you but can't see when you do it.. And this isn't just your Muslim.. it's engraved in the attitude of Islam.. Problem is Muslim have internalised it so much that islamic teaching give one law for Muslim but in vice versa it is haram. We made a condition on ourselves that: -We will neither erect in our areas a monastery, church, or a sanctuary for a monk, -Nor restore any place of worship that needs restoration -Nor use any of them for the purpose of enmity against Muslims. -We will not prevent any Muslim from resting in our churches whether they come by day or night, and we will open the doors [of our houses of worship] for the wayfarer and passerby. -Those Muslims who come as guests, will enjoy boarding and food for three days. -We will not allow a spy against Muslims into our churches and homes or hide deceit [or betrayal] against Muslims. -We will not teach our children the Qur'an, Publicize practices of Shirk (polytheism), Invite anyone to Shirk or prevent any of our fellows from embracing Islam, if they choose to do so. -We will respect Muslims, -Move from the places we sit in if they choose to sit in them. -We will not imitate their clothing, caps, turbans, sandals, hairstyles, speech, nicknames and title names, or ride on saddles, -Hang swords on the shoulders, collect weapons of any kind or carry these weapons. We will not encrypt our stamps in Arabic, or sell liquor. -We will have the front of our hair cut, Wear our customary clothes wherever we are, Wear belts around our waist, -Refrain from erecting crosses on the outside of our churches and demonstrating them and our books in public in Muslim fairways and markets. -We will not sound the bells in our churches, except discretely, or raise our voices while reciting our holy books inside our churches in the presence of Muslims, -Nor raise our voices [with prayer] at our funerals, or light torches in funeral processions in the fairways of Muslims, or their markets. We will not bury our dead next to Muslim dead, or buy servants who were captured by Muslims. -We will be guides for Muslims and refrain from breaching their privacy in their homes.' -We will not beat any Muslim. -These are the conditions that we set against ourselves and followers of our religion in return for safety and protection. If we break any of these promises that we set for your benefit against ourselves, then our Dhimmah (promise of protection) is broken and you are allowed to do with us what you are allowed of people of defiance and rebellion.'[4] The Pact of Umar

One aspect that doesn't get highlighted is that at least in Pakistan, it is an asymmetrical debate. Regardless of whether the arguments come from hate or are educated or just difference of opinion, one side has violence on its side and the other doesn't. So everyone tiptoes around "sensitive" aspects just in the interest of an interesting concept called "not dying".

Historical Islamic practice has always been the murder of anyone accused of Blasphemy. Even now Sunni, Shia, Wahabi agree on this. Not a single large sect goes against this. I can very boldly say that 90% of the Muslims around the world are involved in “ Islamic blasphemy “, ie in Pakistan, during Ramadan hoardings goes up, prices are raised in the market, banking in based on interest, people individualist give and take business on high interests, illegal businesses, adult ties right under the nose of data darbar, child abuses in mosques by qaris and mullahs, open bribes and commissions, what are all these? Moreover, he recently purchased a Toyota Land Cruiser worth 3.5 crore, the same Toyota that provides military-grade support to the Israeli army. This is "munafqat." Now take the Youth Club. They narrate stories of the simplicity of Umar R.A. and the simplicity of Islam. In their university seminars, they advise students to spend only what is necessary for living. But have you seen their lifestyle? They own bikes and cars worth millions, such as Harley Davidson, BMW, Yamaha touring bikes, and more. They ride these motorcycles on weekends just for fun and have the audacity to tell innocent people to live a simple life. This is "munafqat." Then there's Qaiser Ahmed Raja, a person who appeared out of nowhere and introduces himself in university seminars as a biologist and scientist, giving lectures on science and Islam. In a podcast, when asked if the earth is flat (a similar situation happened with the Youth Club), instead of saying no, he gave a weak explanation of why the earth is not round but flat, simply because a Barelvi scholar wrote a book claiming the earth is flat. Can you see the state of "munafqat"? A biologist claiming the earth is flat. These are the same old typical mullahs who have just donned three-piece suits, learned English, and bought a mic for podcasts.

The Holy Prophet sa said: يُوْشِكُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ لَا يَبْقَى مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ إِلَّا اسْمُهُ وَلَا يَبْقَى مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ إِلَّا رَسْمُهُ مَسَاجِدُهُمْ عَامِرَةٌ وَهِيَ خَرَابٌ مِنَ الْهُدَى عُلَمَاؤُهُمْ شَرُّ مَنْ تَحْتَ أَدِيْمِ السَّمَاءِ مِنْ عِنْدِهِمْ تَخْرُجُ الْفِتْنَةُ وَفِيْهِمْ تَعُوْدُ “A time will come when nothing would be left of Islam except its name, and nothing would be left of the Quran except its words. Their mosques would be full of worshippers but would be devoid of righteousness. Their ulema [the religious scholars] would be the worst of creatures under the canopy of the heavens. Evil plots will hatch from them and to them will they return” (Mishkat al-Masabih, Vol. 1, p. 91, Hadith 676)
Intellectual arguments against blasphemy is one thing but what is important is what is the ground reality. People of Pakistan condone blasphemy law and are eager to implement it themselves. THAT is the real problem. No amount of intellectual discussion on blasphemy will change the ground reality because it is naive to think that people more knowledgeable than the host of this show do not know what Islam has to say about blasphemy.

There is no punishment in Islam for blasphemy. No such punishment is prescribed in the Holy Quran, or in any of the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad(sa). Islam promotes the need for respect of all religions for the sake of peace in society, but it does not set out any punishment for blasphemy despite the offence it may cause people of faith. We have evidence in the traditions of the Holy Prophet(sa) where Abdullah bin Ubayyee (Chief of the hypocrites) continuously abused the Prophet(sa), and opposed him severely in Madinah. When he passed away, the Prophet(sa) stood to offer his funeral prayers but was asked by one of his companions, “O Allah’s Apostle! Do you offer the prayer for this man although he said so-and-so on such-and-such-a day?” and “that he is a hypocrite!”. The Prophet(sa) ignored his statements and continued to offer the funeral prayers of the dead man. (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 192) The above example shows that the Prophet(saw) never ordered any punishment for anyone who insulted or abused God Almighty or the Prophet of Islam(saw) ; on the contrary he went to pray for them that they be guided aright. The issue of blasphemy is not a new phenomenon. The instances of blasphemy are found throughout recorded human history. The Holy Quran, for example, points out very clearly that all the prophets and messengers of God were persecuted, harmed, abused and mocked, not only during their life time but also after their demise.“Alas for My servants! There comes not a Messenger to them but they mock at him.” (36:31) “Then We sent Our Messengers one after another. Every time there came to a people their Messenger, they treated him as a liar.” (23:45) Noah, Abraham, Lot, Saleh, Shuaib, Moses and Jesus, peace be on them all, (just to name a few) were all mocked and blasphemed by their enemies and opponents. Questions naturally arise: How did Prophets react to blasphemy? Did they ever punish the blasphemers? What was the end of those mockers and blasphemers? The Holy Quran clearly speaks about the treatment of those mockers and enemies of God’s prophets: “And surely, Messengers have been mocked at before thee; but I granted respite to those who disbelieved. Then I seized them, and how was then My punishment!” (Holy Quran 13:23) “And Messengers indeed have been rejected before thee; but notwithstanding their rejection and persecution they remained patient until Our help came to them. There is none that can change the words of Allah.” (Holy Quran 6:35). These verses make it abundantly clear and manifest that all the messengers observed extreme patience whenever they were blasphemed and they never tried to punish or respond to those blasphemers violently. All those mockers, blasphemers and enemies faced deadly consequences. Another common element in their stories is that all the enemies were punished by God Almighty , and this is one supreme reality that can never change: “There is none that can change the words of Allah” (Holy Quran 6:35). Alas! This blasphemy did not stop even at the time of our beloved Master and Lord, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw). He endured every form of punishment, torture, persecution, blasphemy, mockery and torment suffered by the earlier prophets and messengers. He was called “the one most mean” (63:9), he was treated as a ‘liar’ (35:26), he was labelled as a ‘fabricator’ (16:102) and he was called as ‘madman’ (15:7). He (may peace be on him) was also physically tortured, persecuted and blasphemed. “The Prophet was stoned by ruffians and vagabonds and was chased and pelted by urchins till the cobblestones of Taif ran red with his blood. And at the battle-ground of Uhud the Prophet was seriously wounded. His followers were severely persecuted and the land became very tight and narrow for them..They were laid out in the blazing sun, heavy stones were put on their chests, they were dragged through the streets like dead animals and chattels, they were socially boycotted, and they were forced to live in a valley for three long and hard years. They were deprived of all their freedom, property and belongings. Their dead bodies were cut asunder; the liver of the Prophet’s uncle Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him), was even eaten. Pregnant women were thrown off camels.The Holy Quran states: “Verily, those who malign Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this world and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them an abasing punishment. And those who malign believing men and believing women for what they have not earned shall bear the guilt of a calumny and a manifest sin.” (33:58-59) How clearly the Holy Quran has mentioned the fate of the opponents of God and His Messenger that God alone has the authority to punish those who malign, mock or blaspheme God and His prophets. God did not permit anyone, not even the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) to punish such people. Unfortunately, many people around the world including many Muslims believe that blasphemy is a worldly punishable act, and Muslims are duty-bound to punish mockers and blasphemers. They believe that if someone speaks against God, the Holy Muhammad (saw), the Holy Quran and Islam he must be punished. However, the reality completely differs from such concepts and the Islam taught by our beloved Master Muhammad (saw) speaks of no worldly punishment whatsoever against blasphemy. No question of death or anything else for that matter. The Holy Quran has provided a clear guidance on this matter and states: “…when you hear the Signs of Allah being denied and mocked at, sit not with them until they engage in a talk other than that; for in that case you would be like them” (Ch.4 v.141) It should be noted that instead of punishing the blasphemers, believers are advised to leave the company of such people until they change their discussion. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) through his practices made it absolutely clear that there is no worldly punishment for blasphemy and the matter rests in the hands of Almighty Allah.
