I knew about the cooldown resets but somehow never learned about the projectile cleansing, what an interesting interaction. There's always something to learn, good video!
I knew about most of these tips before watching but I didnt know about the part with the telegraphed moves. My Blast Shower appreciation is off the charts; great vid Cap!
with enough gesture of the drowned you can blast shower's effects to be constant (granted, its very loud and kind of hard to look at) but it basically makes you immortal
The release of the void dlc with the overtuned collapse and fire debuff at the time made me always take blast shower when i saw it unless i already had a raincoat. Then i noticed all the stuff it did in addition to cleansing debuffs and thats when it hit me just how underrated the item was. Sure it doesnt have the granduer of the BFG or the reliable bursts of royal capacitor, but its utility is absolutely massive.
Heard about pizza deletion from that one Race stream long ago, but i didn't know it worked on many other projectiles as well, thats awesome. Great video, and fav equipment by far is recycler.
As someone who plays with a group who typically go the “boring” build routes (infinite bleed, Shatterspleen AoE damage, etc), it’s nice to find a video to show them on just how powerful other builds can be. This is really well made for such a small channel, well done my man keep up the great work :)
One of my favorite strategies (perhaps not the most optimal but fun nonetheless) is a survivor who can reliably proc bands with blast shower, purity, and gesture.
one of my favorite things to do is run command, Railgunner with Marksman, get a gesture, get blast shower, and just start stacking fuel cells, bands, and syringes or mochas. eventually you can get such a low cooldown on the blast shower that its effectively ALWAYS procing, which means that the bands will always be active. coupled with the fire rate and maybe any atgs or charged perforators you get along the way, it just demolishes everything in your path. its not the most effective build, nor is it the most efficient build, but to me its the simplest and most satisfying xD
I don't know if this is still a thing, but if you are playing MUL-T using his default R, whereas if you switch between a normal equipment and Silence Between Two Strikes, you'd instantly regain any health you had lost.
One thing I'd like to note about the Safer Spaces tech is that stacking Safer Spaces also reduces its cooldown so it's not *quite* as important. It's still really nice to have with low stacks, but once you get a few of them going it slowly becomes less and less relevant. Everything else is on point though.
Using Blast Shower for Safer Spaces cooldown is also nice for fighting Mithrix - Mithrix can use a full stack of Safer Spaces, making him very hard to kill, but he can't use Blast Shower
Lowering the cooldown of Safer Spaces with more stacks of it is pretty hard, especially pre-loop, each stack doesn't reduce it that much. Plus being able to activate it whenever you want is ridiculously useful, especially for more telegraphed attacks. Can't count the amount of times I've blocked Mithrix's pizza with blast shower + safer spaces.
Blast Shower has always been top of S tier in my eyes. I've had full uptime on it so many times and all this time I NEVER knew it deleted projectiles too. Granted, many other equipments can outperform it but require some insane luck to do what blast shower can do with a single stack of 1 item
Blast Shower has been a D tier equip for me since it was released, super cool to see that it has interesting and unique use cases that legitimize keeping it in runs. Yeah, top-tier equips are usually way more useful, but simply having this knowledge is honestly enough to bump Blast Shower up to A tier for me, especially on higher difficulties. Insane stuff, thank you
5:25 oh god. I suddenly got startled. I thought I was suddenly playing terraria again. despite having a different game minimized in the background. X_X
Most of these I knew but holy the band atg interaction is insane… you can easily oneshot most bosses even mithrix like that with just a couple stacks of each
I grabbed a couple stacks of eulogy zero, an ungodly amount of gestures and fuel cells, got some bands and a few plimps. I was able to sic about 30 fire tornados on a single enemy. It was glorious.
This video was fire! Only critique is hit the intro a bit harder on the drop of the song like summoning salt! Hit us with a “this is the overpowered potential. . . of blast shower” *beat drop* on the drop mid intro song and then fade to title 🔥 the topic was made super interesting and investing so it was great so so well done!
did a coop run in eclipse 2 as bandit the other day with shower and 4 gesture + 2 fuel cell plus a singularity band and cheesed mithrix hard it was such an anti-climax that my friends and I couldn't help but la8as mithrix just stood in the air in the center of the arena for two whole phases
Thanks, I thought the walls were projectiles, but I hadn't confirm it for myself. I had seen walls disappear before when other players were captain, but I couldn't figure out where their origin was (as I don't play captain much myself)
While i agree that blast shower is a very underrated equipment. I also feel like it mainly shines before the first loop unless you have quick uptime with a gesture. If you dont have gesture blastshower is not worth later on because at one point you die in one hit, you also can no longer just rely on just bands the further you go. The further you go the more you need proc chains. Overall i agree that blast shower shouldn’t be overlooked.
I legit thought this would was a joke video or something. I’ve never heard that Blast Shower could do any of this, and basically don’t use it myself. Looks like the latter of those will be changing!
Wow ok i did not know a good chunk of this. Awesome video. One thing i would like to know is if gesture + blast shower only goes off when there’s something to cleanse. That would make the blast shower much easier to use since you wouldnt have to time anything. Definitely going to try some of this!
@@ATNdu85 ah man. i thought it might work that way like when you have a capacitor it only goes off when there's something to target. Still, lots of cool applications in this video.
My biggest problem with the bands is that they don't work as well for high rate of fire characters like Commando, but this seems like it would dramatically increase their value in such cases. I'll have to try it sometime
Loved the information you brought! I like your video essay format, but did have a few hopefully helpful critiques! Your transitions between topics (and when giving examples are really long. It ends up adding a ton of time to the video and can make watching a bit tedious. Hope you keep going up & up with your videos :)
Blast shower is the S+ equipment item for me, only followed by executive card. As someone who enjoys endurance runs in RoR2 (especially now that I removed mob level cap) this item solves the issue that late game RoR2 runs can encounter: One Shot Protection. OSP is useless when enemies have delayed damage. Blast cleansing overloading projectiles alone made it a must have for me. The huge spike in DPS that it provides is also just a cherry on top.
i never realized how insane Blast Shower would be with some combination of Gestures and Fuel Cells. a constant, albeit small aura of projectile deletion, and near infinite band procs, alongside loads of other things
Somehow, I knew all of this except the Mithrix pizza, even though I've used it on other telegraphs and floor pools, I just never thought that attack was a projectile. Then again I also usually just dodge that one since I'm used to it's timings.
Projectile cleansing sounds awesome, never noticed it! I do wonder how big the range and the duration is for that, in case you want to cancel a direct projectile like that big rock.
i like how the community has figured out all this tech with merc, behemoth, and blast shower, but nobody seems to know why the planet has killed you cause of death happens
40 fuel cells + 1 gesture and you will gain charges for use items faster than you can use them and with this and safer spaces youd be actually unkillable
I recently started playing ror2 and I absolutely love videos like htis (for any game), I'd be exited to see more hidden tech and obscure mechanics videos because I love understanding the game on a deeper level. Looking forward to more!
Sad the singularity band procing itself was patched, ingot my high3st damage ever with it, so high the dps mod showed N/A lmao, it was like 8 quadrillion or smth along those lines (stage 5 proced them on the rocks crossing the stage and just waited :) )
I purposely left it out. Saving 5 seconds of cooldown by using an equipment that serves the same purpose didn't seem necessary to bring up. You're right though!
in my experiencce, bottles chaos increases activation time, which when making cooldown practically 0 can have some negative effects. please correct me if this isn't/ is no longer true
