I love your road trips. I think I've seen every one of your videos. Great information. I was actually on the West Virginia Turnpike yesterday and I wondered why there were gas stations and shops at the rest areas there, and nowhere else that I drive. I used to drive the 401 in Canada all the time and all of the service areas there have gas/food courts/etc. Hoping to have a Model Y of my own by Easter or so.
I didn’t know about that Federal Law restricting commercial activities at rest stops. So interesting. I always wondered why most rest stops don’t have chargers.
I enjoyed the video. I live in the Boston suburbs and drive to Maine several times a year. I always have to stop at Kittery Trading Post on the way home.
I have the 2023 Model Y with the 4680 battery pack. I have noticed one glitch in the software. When I drive at night and I am using the Traffic-Aware Cruise Control, the window wipers with come on randomly... off and on... off and on. You cannot turn the wipers off. They stay in the "AUTO" mode. You have to disengage the Autopilot to stop the wipers. Anyone having this issue?
Great video again. The charging curve is really not great on the 4680 model Y. My model Y long range is much better at similar state of charge. Sorry that your stuck with that one for a bit. Great car overall though.
What??? There's a federal law that prohibits commercial activities on interstates? What's the purpose of that law? Aren't there gas stations at rest stops on I95 in Jersey?
@@brandenflasch Thanks for link Branden. Not sure why I never got an alert that you had replied. Perhaps because it was just a link? Anyway, reading the article is hilarious, were it not so downright deceiving, of them throwing around that "NACS is opposed to the commercialization of interstate highways." Until your read what their "NACS" is, which is the "Advancing Convenience & Fuel Retailing." Nothing to do whatsoever with Tesla or the NACS that stands for the "North American Charging Standard." It's nothing more than a band of bought local politicians dictating what the rest of the country wants and needs. It makes me realize just how smart states like NJ are to run interstates like I95 through their turnpikes to get around those politicians, while at the same time collecting money to keep the roads in great conditions.
The charging on that model Y sucks. Definitely below advertised. Tesla really needs to stop using customers as testers for the products (testing 4680 packs for future products). I could see testing above advertised ratings, but not reaching what you paid for is starting to get a little annoying
Question...do you regret not getting the Long Range Model Y..Im looking to get a MY..just deciding if it is worth the extra 5K for an extra 50 miles..I do mosting local driving and may 1 or 2 road trips a year...Thanks for your videos
@Brandenflasch did you see Kim Java's video on the Uber Driver who has over 100,000 miles in ONE YEAR? Now his battery is bad and it's $9000 to replace? Any interest in doing a video on that? He claimed he would use the superchargers twice a day charging to 90%
