Also an integrated bottom plate with the titanium reinforcing it would help the structural integrity of the bot alot in my opinion

The aluminum spacer is mounted with four screws, basically sandwiches between the motor and the chassis. I have considered direct drive, but it’s a combination of stubbornness and a desire to build something new that has kept me from that design.

People tend to undersell the strength of PLA. This is mainly because there are other options such as ABS, TPU, HDPE, and Carbon Fiber that are stronger and very accessable. But if PLA is the only thing you have, it is still a decent material, especially at higher infill. It's just that there are stronger or lighter counterparts that some people would rather use. PLA is great for those who are building on a budget.
