It's Blastwave 3! Hope this one doesn't suck like the last two, otherwise we might have to... retire it if you get my drift.

I went down the same path with the thrust washers until I found a stack of 2-3 thin nylon washers performed not only better but where also 80% lighter. You should look into those!

Really love this build! I hope it does well in it's next competition. I will say that the 20mm motors are a bit overkill. If you want durable, small, and lightweight motors I reccomend the brushed/brushless drive from Repeat Robotics. Used one of them in my minibot at Norwalk and they took hits like a champ.

I wouldn't recommend chucking the plastic pieces in an actual freezer, frozen plastic can become very brittle!

I was disappointed to miss it! I had car trouble and couldn’t leave on time. Hopefully next summer there’ll be an event that I’ll be able to make.

@@KeplerElectronics Sorry for your bad luck. Be prepared, I almost have Skid Marks and Short-Short Guy dialed in, and Rough Cuddle is looking promising.

Why not use a lexan or abs lid?

I historically have had pretty bad luck with ABS printing, and didn’t have any sheet plastic readily available (or the tools to cut it) when finishing the bot up.
