Blazblue is seriously underrated. Like it's my favourite fighting game of all time and the reason I am making my own fighting game.

If BlazBlue taught me anything it's this: It doesn't matter if your character roster consists of unoriginal amalgamates of stereotypical tropes, what matters is presentation -- that you pull them off well. So, what kinda character archetypes are you gonna have in your fighting game? I'm hoping you're staying away from the boring stuff that the Street Fighter series have churned out? (Seriously, the best character to have come out of the SF series in the last 15 years is Juri.)

Rachel might be 9000 year old lolita vampire girl, but her interactions with other characters and how her moves have over-top "I really don't use my full power here" vibes immediately sells her. And if you even glimpse at how she works in the story - yeah, she is the opposite of being a trope

Eh, I'd argue the opposite, BB's vocal tracks weren't all that good. Daisuke's forte always was instrumental songs, and only recently in GG Strive that the vocal songs became really good.

All the tracks for Tsubaki just hit different to me, especially Condemnation Wings 1 which is probably my second favorite song next to Nightmare Fiction 1.

Man this game is so good, I encourage anyone watching to try it out at least, especially if you have been interested in fighting games because it’s one of the simpler ones to get into, though today people say it’s hard lol.

It what world is blazblue one of the simpler fighting games? Or do you mean bbtag?

@@having765 I mean just Blazblue not bbtag, Blazblue was literally made to be easier when it came out, adding things like throw os and larger buffer windows and much more. It’s just that it’s one of the easiest old games (because newer games are obviously more easier it’s just how they were designed) to get into because of those reasons. For example it’s a lot easier to get into bbcf than it is to get into GGXRD or MBAACC.

I have a hard time getting into blazblue because frankly none of the characters visually look that cool and I don't really connect any with them. The most interesting gameplay wise for me are hakumen (because I play baiken in +r, xrd and parries are cool) and amane, but visually I think most characters in blazblue are kinda boring anime slop. I played some tsubaki because she's pretty fun and she's got the coolest outfit out of the female cast but I'm more interested in amane just looking at the chip damage warcrimes that he can do though so maybe I'll try to play more BB eventually.
