Welcome to the Blazor File uploads series! This playlist is designed to be the ultimate reference for Blazor file uploads, fully updated for .NET 8.0. In each video we’ll explore how to handle file uploads using one of the different Blazor rendering modes - Static Server Side Rendering, Interactive Server Side Rendering with SignalR, and of course WebAssembly. In this second video we’re going to explore file uploads with Blazor WebAssembly, but look for the other two videos very soon. Please remember to hit subscribe to support the channel!

Hey, thanks for watching - the Server Side upload video is available here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a5-iQ5IGtT0.html The Blazor Signal R render mode video is still coming.

Thank you for these great videos, however it's not working for me. I downloaded the github repo and compiled it successfully, but when I test WebAssembly, I get the error "Upload failed. Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Server Static and WebAssembly both throw the error "Could not find a part of the path." None of the options work.

Thank you for alerting me of these issues - I was able to reproduce them from the GitHub repo. For the Server Static and Server Interactive, the issue was that there's no images folder included in the project by default so the file path for the upload doesn't work - I've added that folder and committed it to the repository. For the webassembly page, there was a missing handler method in the version on GitHub, so I updated that with the latest. these should all work now.

This is a noob question, but would this work for file sizes larger than 2 GB? I was under the impression that you would have to chunk something like that.

You are correct - this will not reliable work for files larger than 2GB and you should use chunking, you can read more about it here: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/blazor/file-uploads?view=aspnetcore-8.0#file-size-read-and-upload-limits I've never tried to implement large file size uploads with WASM myself so I don't have any further guidance personally unfortunately.

Excellent explanation and video. But I am getting 2 errors when I open the repo in VS 2022 Community, the key one being "The name 'rendermode' does not exist in the current context." It points at the @rendermode directive in the WasmUpload.razor file. The "@using static Microsoft.AspNetCore.Components.Web.RenderMode" directive is in Imports.razor, so that's not it. Since I'm a newbie to rendermode, can you provide any guidance? Thanks.

Hey, thanks for watching. The syntax for the rendermode feature should match what you see here, as another reference: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/blazor/components/render-modes?view=aspnetcore-8.0#client-side-rendering-csr If that's not working, are you on the latest .NET 8.0? You shouldn't have to include any usings for this to work, it should work by default.

@@alexthecodewolf Thank you for the repo and video. The 2 errors I am seeing show up when building your repo without any modifications on my part. The syntax of the rendermode directive in your repo is as shown in the link you provided. If I may ask, does the repo still build when you try it? The 2nd build error I'm getting is "Metadate file '...\FileUpload.Client.dll' could not be found.
