DYING MY HAIR ICY BLONDE / PLATINUM BLONDE / BLEACHING MY HAIR / HAIR MAKEOVER / GOING BLONDE / HAIR BLEACH / OLAPLEX / HAIR TREATMENT / HAIRCUT / HAIR MAKEOVER
I can't believe i'm finally PLATINUM BLONDE!!! What do you guys think of my blonde hair makeover? I really love this icy blonde look, but i'm also so excited to dye my hair red so I can start to feel like myself again. After my visit to the hair salon, I'm trying out the Kérastase products recommended for very damaged hair. There's a hair repairing shampoo and a leave in conditioner treatment, as well as a heat activated balm. If you want me to do a follow up after using the products for a while, please let me know! They gave me an Olaplex treatment at the hair salon and my hair felt amazing afterwards - i'd really like to try Olaplex products for myself and i'm planning on filming a video about it soon! I know you guys want me to review hair products by Brad Mondo, so i'll add those to my list, as well as any others you suggest down below!

Tip from a hairdresser - hair is more inclined to break when it's wet, hair has better elasticity, and less inclined to break when it's dry. So to avoid chemically impaired breakage, dry first, then brush.

You're blowing your hair up, which makes it fluffy. If you want it to be sleek, you have to blow it down or be brushing down

It looked smoother from the salon because she used the “proper” blowdrying technique, you should take a look at some videos on how to blow dry hair, it really is a gamechanger, especially for us who ruthlessly bleach our hair.. also olaplex n. 6 helped me a lot

As a hairdresser prospective those products you got a really high quality but they arnt not meant to was your hair EVERYDAY especially if you wash your hair everyday. It’s meant as a treatment once every copy of days

I highly recommend a silk hair wrap for when you sleep, or at least a silk pillow for less friction when sleeping. Also there are ties that you can use to make your hair fall into curls, I think its called the aurora band?

@@evcotter08 It does not have to be made of polyester which includes petroleum, It can also be made from Rayon instead. Silk is btw extremely bad for the environment, even worse than polyester according to sources such as Higgs.

I think the reason why it was smoother at the salon is because of how they blow-dried it, if you blow-dry it downwards with a round brush it smooths out the hair cuticles and makes it look smoother! But I support the comments to try the curly girl method! :D (hairdresser ere ahaha)

I know I was thinking the same my mom can make my hair look like it’s been straightened with nothing but a round brush and a hair dryer. I’m still envious I can’t do it . When ever there was a special occasion she would dry my hair for me in like ten minutes where it took me twice as long and still ended up with crazy puffy hair. Now at 28 I realize I’m a true tomboy at heart that can’t be bothered to practice styling my hair and just going with the easiest approach

@@sensamelia1 yeah I shower at night and I’m just too tired to do anything afterwards. unless it’s for something special Or important I don’t bother messing with it . I use to try but I’m vary clumsy and break everything ie knocked over my straighter and broke it by stepping on it bare foot & some how bent the plug to my hair dryer. My hair looks nicer air dried and brushed then anything I can do trying to style it.

Two hairdresser released products you should try. Brad Mondo's Xmondo healing hair color (semi permanent deposit only no damage hair color that is super vibrant and fades to lovely pastel) and Guy Tang's hair color remover called Striptease and his rose gold and other pastel conditioners

You NEED olaplex 3!! I'm literally so surprised she didn't recommend it to you. It strengthens the Hydrogen bonds in your hair and restores the broken ones from so much processing. It's genuinely good stuff especially for bleached hair, it's really gonna make a difference for you 🥰 Also you should definitely look into the curly girl method!!!

Just a tip for keeping your hair soft and feeling like that “salon feel”, the way you blow dry your hair really makes a difference! If you point the blow dryer low and up at your hair it tends to rough it up and make it frizzy so it won’t feel as soft. Always keep the hair dryer up and pointed downward towards your hair it reduces frizziness and that kinda dry stiff feeling blow drying has. Love the hair color so so much and so glad to have some Archie time in the video!!

I’m a hairdresser in Brisbane and I work with that brand, with the shampoo use a 50c size piece and shampoo twice don’t just lay it on top, and the mask use a 50c piece as well and put most of it in your lengths and ends then run the left over through you roots, not to much or it will get oily

Yes 🙌 shampoo twice with Kerastase and you really don’t need a lot. Another tip, the first shampoo will usually not lather. The second will (huge kerastase fan here)

You don’t need to use that much product! Just the size of a Canadian quarter (25 cents) will do! Also put the conditioner and heat treatment all over, not just your ends ❤️❤️❤️

I used to be precious about my hair. It was past my bum for YEARS and the only thing I ever got complimented on, so I'd actually panic attacks at the thought of cutting it. After I had my first kid, I kind of just said "You know what? Heck it" and started trying all the things I always wanted to, but never had the guts to. I've never regretted taking that step, tbh. I say take the plunge and go for the bob. Hair is the ultimate fun play thing - you can do basically anything to it and it always grows back. I think a long bob would look really well on you, personally.

Same!! I used my hair long and totally dye-free for years, until I had my daughter 8 years ago. I cut it very short back then, ear length, and have kept it short for years. I had it red, purple, and even blonde!! Now I'm going back to my normal hair. It's the longest and darkest it has ever been since 2013. I think I got tired of having it short and the constant dyeing and bleaching... I'm 36 so I should just start embracing that I'm not getting younger 🤣

It will feel a lot softer and less poofy if you let it dry naturally, I never blowdry my bleached hair because it gets so weird and floofy in a bad way. When I let it dry on its own (it takes forever to dry ofc), I can definitely feel a noticeable difference!! I promise it will feel less poofy! Sidenote; I don't think your hair will fall out if you only >exclusively< bleach your roots and let the already bleached hair rest, that includes box dyes and anything with chemicals, don't put it in your damaged hair)

You can't bleach the ends anymore and you shouldn't but you can continue to go in every 6-8 weeks for root touch ups. That's how you stay blonde wo any more damage. I've had pink hair for about 6 yrs and it is totally obtainable. You just need to learn how to take care of it. It would really be a waste to finally reach your blonde goals and then just let it grow out. (Also root touch ups are not nearly as expensive)

I'm still working on learning how to care for my hair. I have reddish brown hair naturally, but went blonde during quarantine. My hair was Lavender and then rosy pink. I want to stay blonde so I can continue to do fun colors because it makes me happy. Regardless, the upkeep has taken a while to adapt to. I did get a purple shampoo, and found really good hair masks to keep it hydrated and toned. So, yea your right, it takes time to learn the upkeep.

Hey Alex! Pls pls take a look into the curly girl method! For your hair, I’d especially recommend not brushing it but combing it instead and with a wide-toothed comb. I’d also avoid tying your hair up in a towel like you show in the video, and instead scrunching it to dry it (I use a towel for this but cotton t shirt or microfibre towel are way better to combat frizz!). If you want to blow dry you can look into using a diffuser although I find it such a long process and don’t often bother! In terms of hair cut, cutting in layers will also help to give the overall hair a bit more bounce and accentuate some curls once they start re-appearing, oh and using the scrunching motion when applying your conditioner will also help too! It’s so exciting to see you having fun with your hair, and for sure you’ve got way curlier hair than you realise! Xx

I was about to say the same thing. It truly is the only way to have healthy hair again. I had my hair all the way down to my butt, then whacked 6" off and went platinum. It was great while it lasted and I kept up with the roots for a year and trims, but it is so hard on your hair even at the salon. So I grew out the roots 6" and went with a sporty short do with my natural hair. Now it's healthy again and half-way down my back, so naturally I'm thinking of something else I can do to my hair 😝

@@leeroyjenkins3391 My hairdresser used to tell me “it’s just hair. It will grow back.”But she always refuse to bleach it cause I have fine, thin hair. She’d do anything but that. I finally did it myself. Haven’t “killed” it yet but when I do I’ll get a nice shortie cut and start over. :)

I have been bleaching and doing fashion colors for years and Redken extreme hair mask and anti-snap are life saviours! I always ad some anti-snap out of the shower and my hair is silky smooth and frizz free. I'll also add a bit in dry hair if I feel it's frizzy or dry, it makes it feel and look smooth and healthy immediately.

@@dawnsherratt2317 that’s great that you are able to keep your hair healthy but bleach does most definitely damage the hair and curl pattern. it may not take all the curl out but it can loosen it! moisture is not the only issue, protein needs to be added to bleached hair as well because bleach processes the hair and increases porosity which allows the hair to not hold onto moisture as well. i’m glad you have found things that have worked for you though.

When I used to have long hair I put it in a french braid close to the head to get my curls to be even all the way to the root. If you want to avoid using heat on your hair you may also be interested in foam curlers/rag curls to leave in overnight

When you’re ready to go back to your original colour I think a pixie cut would look fabulous on you. When you had red hair in your early videos you always put me in mind of a autumnal forest fairy very bubbly and dainty.

Couple things: 1. I totally agree with Alex’s friend that with her hair slicked back, she looks like a Slytherin! I’m more gryffindor and hufflepuff than anything, but my bisexual self is QUAKING. wtf that pink floral dress is EVERYTHING!!! I also have bleach blonde hair and I use shea moisture manuka honey hair masque every time I wash my hair and it keeps it so nice. It's also budget friendly.

Your new hair looks soo good, but I am excited for when you go back to your natural color too!! As someone who has only about 2-4 inches of bleached hair on my ends and a ton of new growth, I can't even begin to explain how much I missed the texture and healthy feeling of my natural hair. I will forever miss my fun colors too though lol

MEEEE, my bleached hair is about 3-6 inches of my hair. I cut off A LOT of it the other day, and I am sooo excited to be natural again!!

I haven't dyed my hair in like 1 and a half years; it just kinda naturally faded into an ombre, so I haven't needed to touch it, I also never use heat so I realized recently how nice and sooo healthy my grown out hair is. It's been so long since my natural hair has been this long. Still not long enough to where I feel comfortable with cutting off all the dyed and dead hair. But we're getting there!

A tip for using shampoos like the one you got, they are much thicker because they don't just thin them out with water, so when you squeeze it out you have to rehydrate it a bit and rub it in between your hands to get a nice lather! :) You look absolutely beautiful btw, love the new hair!!

Keratase is amazing and it will definitely help to repair the damage to your hair. You've just shocked your strands so give it time, but you look great as a blonde. I do feel your natural red hair was perfect with your complexion.

My biggest issue with expensive products is I have SO MUCH HAIR and it used to be funny watching hair cutters tell me "oh you don't need more then this small amount" and then proceed to have to get more shampoo to wash my hair. I go to a more professional lady now and she doesn't pretend to not need a lot of product for me. But, I can't spend a bunch of money to wash my hair once.

I absolutely adore redheads and they especially suit it so well. The platinum blonde kinda just amplifies that she's already pale. I've just had a ton of ginger friends hahaha Im like a ginger magnet. So yeah. All of her styles look beautiful ofc, but Im excited for the redhead return
