Bleeding Heart plant is not growing or blooming well? When plants become old, we need to take some drastic step to rejuvenate them. On this video I have shared a new technique to rejuvenate Bleeding Heart plant. Basically the first thing anyone wants to do is to repot. But by following this method we can achieve similar result without repotting. I often do this whenever it doesn't feel great to repot. The same process would save time whenever we would need to fertilize our plants. Hope, you would find the idea useful.

There was a bleeding heart bush at one of my childhood homes in north Eastern USA and I haven't seen one since I moved away. I just found a bare root one at a nursery the other day and am looking forward to seeing it grow 😊 Thank you for this video

I liked all the flower creepers discussed in this video, I think they are unique one & not commonly planted, yes hard pruning hearts but very necessary when required, it rejuvenate the plants & gives best results, I like your all videos🎉

Thank you So much for your words, really appreciated! Also, 100% agree with you. We need to keep pruning on regular basis whenever we grow plants in pots. Or else, eventually they stop performing well. I think they feel like, it's the end of the life and it's time to die. By pruning and fertilizing them well, we can give them a fresh rebirth.

Very nice friend. I have seen this method once in a video about gardening in pots. The lady had huge pots, completely impossible to repot. And use the method to refresh soil and nutrients. This is very interesting and thank you for the tip.

Thank you very much :-) Look like, we all gardeners have some common problems and somehow we find a solutions..Definitely I am going to document everything and would share the result in coming days. The pot is really heavy..ha ha..still feeling the pain as I moved the pot from my balcony to terrace :-)

@@GardeningUpbeat you could maybe have a wooden or metal structure made with wheels so you could move the heavy ones around. Sorry for your back! It's all part of this beautiful gardening journey.

@gardeningupbeat, Hi again, Thank you for coming up with the Bleeding heart care video quite soon. I will follow the steps you mentioned and will try to keep patience. But today, I am here with another issues for which I seek your help. I have a couple of plants like Crotan, Dahlia, Acalyfa and shukh-shanti which were growing new shoots. But suddenly they started drying out from the top of the plant. I am not understanding what went wrong. I had sprayed neem oil on all plants, couple of days back. I have checked for any infestation, but I didn't see any bugs on any of these plants. Can you help me understand what's wrong with my plants and what I should do to make them healthy again. Warms Regards, Anamika

You are most welcome and thank you for watching! No worry with issues, I am here to help at anytime :-) For Dahlia, it's end of the season here in out place and it's normal. If you like, you can store the Tubers for next season (I already have a video on this). For other plants - >> They were growing well and suddenly they started drying from the top... You don't see any pests too. In this case, please see if you are watering too much (like before the top soil getting dry) Usually, these plants are hardy and they don't need too much water. If we water them when the top soil is dry, it's okay for them. Also, Croton does much well when it gets at least few hours of direct sunlight. For Croton, Acalyfa and Sukh Shanti plant (Justicia Gendarussa), please try to provide as much bright light as possible if direct sunlight is difficult. I hope it helps. In case you need any more info, please send me the pics here - instagram.com/gardeningupbeat/ All the best!

What's the purpose of pvc pipe? I am Dr by profession, and new to gardening. I am from Kerala, for the last 5 months i hav watched most of ur videos. U inspire me a lot. Now i hav mor than 50 type variety plants

Thank you so much Sir for your feedback, appreciate it and I am glad to hear I could do something. Now, back to the question - I used the PVC pipe as I didn't want to repot my plant. Normally, whenever we repot, it's better to change the soil as much as we can and also, we need to prune the roots at least 1.5-2 inches if we want to keep the plant in the same pot. As my pot was really big and I was feeling lazy, thought about a new idea. After using the PVC pipe, of course some old soil got removed from the pot and some roots got pruned too. PVC pipe has lots of holes and now it is containing rich potting soil mix + fertilizers. So, this year my plants would be doing well even though I haven't repotted. I would water on the top of pot and also in the PVC pipe. Plants would be able to access the nutrients easily and it would be also easy whenever I want to feed my plant. I would just insert the nutrients in the pipe and no need to remove the surrounding soil from the pot. It's better to cover the fertilizers always as they contain many helpful bacteria and direct sunlight may kill them. I hope I have answered your question..but if you have any, please don't hesitate to ask me. Thank you once again :-)

I would try..but to be honestly saying, I don't have much experience of growing many plants in ground directly. Used to grow few plants with my Mom in my childhood (there was an almost 7 feet tall Rose plant). Then, went to another state long back (2001) for study purpose and after returning, living in apartment. Here, have limited open space and I am growing few flowering trees like Royal poinciana, Barbadoes pride etc. I would try to do a universal kind of video that would suit to almost all plants, thank you!

Thank you for your really good videos. I want advice from you regarding a bleeding heart wine on the ground in my garden which is not growing well. It has grown long but very few leaves and fresh shoots are there. How to rejuvenate it on the ground? Should I prune it now? Thanks

Sorry for taking some time to reply :-( Sure, you can definitely prune it. Actually, at this time, they usually look like this (like Skeleton..he he) After pruning, it would produce new growths and we would get new blooms on those new growths. Pruning is important as it blooms on new growths. More growths, more flower. Last year I didn't prune and so my plants were looking empty too..no leaves almost. That is why, I did this. Don't want to miss lots of flowers this year. After pruning, you can apply fertilizers. If you like, you can also use growth promoter like Super Sonata. Once rainfall starts, they would start growing well. I hope I have answered your query..but if there is any, please let me know. All the best!

Honestly, the hardest plant for me has been the Bleeding Heart. It just doesn't grow. Now and then leaves grow and there are a few blooms. Then within a month all the leaves fall off. Even after a year, the plant hasn't grown even by an inch. :(

Sorry to hear..I am working a new method to get more flowers on Bleeding Heart fast. It should work and definitely I would upload the video very soon! At this time they don't grow much, only in Summer. They are waiting for the rainfalls..Please note, they need acidic soil to thrive.
