If you export from Blender a .usdc and then rename the file to .usdz and add the file to your phone for viewing, you get a notification saying this object needs the latest IOS for viewing.
To fix that, in Blender go to Exports; then rename the extension to .usdz while in Blender and hit export. Now you should be able to see your .usdz object on your IOS device.
