This is actually more complex than programming but only because you are solving a problem with the tools available rather than the bespoke way code can. That said this is still >WAY< better than the nodes in LightWave or SoftImage's 'ICE' system. Oh and I love your accent man - Namaste! :D
"This is actually more complex than programming but only because you are solving a problem with the tools available rather than the bespoke way code can." I think you meant to write "less complex" based on what you wrote.
So complicated, but so powerful. Cinema4d makes this a lot easier. Easier means more accessible. If he could get these controls in a simpler interface, this would really make this a great blender asset.
thing is, cinema 4d is great for a headstart, but once you level up high enough, your'e basically stuck with what you have. Animation nodes in Blender give you complete freedom to do basically unlimited things with them. Admittedly, it is very difficult to learn the node based programming logic, but those that do get a hold of it have a very very very powerful tool at their disposal.
I think I found a way or two: I used Alembic (abc) as export. That worked, the animation was controllable but then I had the issue that I couldnt control the frame per object. So I exported again the Alembic Object as mdd and applied that mdd on the same mesh (swapping out Mesh Sequence Modifier for Mesh Cache) and so far it seems good to hook into the tutorial again. Also: It seems the restriction that keyframes are not copied with the instancer is a thing of the past. I may be wrong with everything.
@@MfromGVK Dear Mr. Haze could u show a little tutorial how u use that i stuck right here and i dont understand how u fix it i try and try but no animation. Greetz from Germany :>
NIce one, think i need need to try thing out some time. PS in the beginning you said something about 4 only showing. But isnt that because you hide the original version? Its just before you add the falloff node part.
This is great, but I can't believe how deep that node tree has to go just to get a simple trigger flip animation. Not comparing apps, but this sort of thing is super simple to do in After Effects with a 3d plugin like Element3d and some very simple expressions. Hopefully, mograph stuff will become easier in Blender as time goes on.
Ps if yu can apply materials with that deepcopy option. Why dont you use scale for the internal parts, make them 98-99% of size that way it looks same as a book. This would not need that complicated duplication method your using. But i dont know if you can alter scale for the duplicated triangles using that deep copy.
The idea is to keep everything procedural and flexible as much as possible, let's say I needed 20 pages, I don't want to go and change scale manually. If you better idea please share node tree, we can make it better.
I meant doing the scale using the addon as well. With deepcopy you can alter the material per duplicate right. Well cant you adjust the scale then. Then you could easily scale the duplicates to 98-99% so they would go inside the first triangle. This would fix the z-fighting
Nice tutorial. I feel like I've learned a lot about animation nodes very quickly. But I'm not sure how you generated a Mesh List at 15 minutes. In 2.9 I can't find a node simply called "Mesh List", there is only "Create Mesh List", "join Mesh List" and "Combine Mesh List".
Same here, can't finish the tutorial, and using these nodes when he's hiding the 2 branches top and bottom, using the visibility at 16:15 hides everything even when you unhide after join mesh list. Just doesn't work the same way.
Thank you for this tutorial. May i ask, did you learn all that stuff by reading the manuals? or because you just know what all nodes are intended to do just because they are named so?
I already knew some programming concepts from c++ before getting into Animation nodes so that helped a lot. Animation nodes is a visual scripting tool under the hood.
Hey! your tutorial is very helpful, I'm following it using blender 2.8 and I'm pretty sure some stuff have changed. right from the part where you add color then animate there are some loop holes Because it fails to animate after adding color and the object action Output does not respond when i change the frame amount can you help please
Hello, i stuck @ 19:10min with the copy of the mdd File, after i duplicate the Mesh and i use the Mesh Cache Modifire the animation dont show up on the Duplicate, i use Blender 2.81 everythings fine but there is my Problem, gave it any other workaround to finish with nice Tutorial ?!?! :) Thank !
I have shown two ways to trigger the animation, 1st one is simpler and based on object indexes, then I disconnected it and shown 2nd way which is triggering animation based on falloff.
haha still doesnt give a proper description. Ive looked into the code, It seem to generate some code which renders single images. I think its some sort of render network thing orso, or its opening independed instances of blender
@@ThinkingPenguin Yeah, that's the same issue I keep running into-- how to create an array of arrays and then apply the inner animation based on an outer falloff.
