​@@justnnyf4108 new in blender here too, episode 6 in donut tutorial. if you go back to past and will start learning blender again, how would you do it and what totorial/channel/steps would you take.

@@moises5865 stay grinds and focus and keep knowing there is no shortcut.. trust the process.. learning this curve, modelling>sculpting>UV>Texturing>Shading, thats your basic after that you can step up with animation, VFX, Geo nodes, Composite of course thats will be take a years for learning.. take a time.

I've been practicing blender for like a week at this point. It seems like there's so many ways to do something it's hard to figure out where to focus my efforts. I've seriously tried like 20 different ways to model a fist and nothing I've learned has felt intuitive. Although it is slowly getting easier to understand what stuff does and why. I'm still optimistic about learning and hope we can all stay motivated through the process!

Thats something all artists suffer from, its done when you say its done but it never really is, you'll always see faults in your own work too where others will just see beauty

Blender needs to introduce clone tool, or array system

Hey your sculpt is amazing, consider adding less intense music in the future. It distracts a bit away from your work. You can still choose a thematic music, maybe some medieval tavern background music would be easier for me to listen 🎧

My m1 MacBook Air can manage these types of projects.

@@PCC_ Damn really? I just looked it up, it's only 8gb ram and an integrated graphics card. It's ( seemingly, I'm very much not an expert) got less impressive specs than my 600 dollar desktop, is apple really that good to justify the 1500 dollar price with those specs? I didn't even attempt to run Blender on my 12gb ram + 4 gb graphics computer for fear of crashing.

@@jefftwentyone9620 I was very hesitant about getting either a m1 air or pro, but a lot of people were saying that m1 air can definitely do the job when it comes to blender, Adobe, music, etc. No issues when I have multiple tabs open (blender, Adobe dimension, Adobe photoshop). Rendering time is very fast.

@@PCC_ The M1 isn't bad, but the hardware limitations are kind of a draw back for me. My Asus ROG 17 laptop smoked my Macbook Pro with the M1. Granted my ROG has 64gb of ram and my Pro only had 16, they both ran me $2k.... My ROG has a 2080 gpu and renders videos over 3x faster than my Mac. I ran Davinci studio (paid version) on my Mac and Asus and my Asus not only was able to play back 4k video smoother at higher fps than my Mac, but the final rendering is much much faster. Sculpting, my Asus is able to handle about 13 million polys before it starts to get slow, my Mac could handle about 10 million before it started to get slow.

blender new 3.2 sculpting is probably now better than zbrush ofc everyone has their own preferences

Wow, and it's free?! You can literally buy a PC and start learning for the price it would cost just to buy zbrush software alone 😆

Just keep at it, watch some advanced tips every now and then to see if you get any useful time saving techniques, and sculpt more. After a level it's often advised to get a sculpting tablet, but the important part is just practicing and using references for anatomy.

@@Enderplays12 Thanks for the response! I actually already own a 19-inch Huion Drawing Tablet. I got it so both my Brother (who draws) and I could use it, but I ended up being the only one to use it myself. I tried working on the usual Donut as my first project with a mouse and it was just awful haha. The tablet made it pretty easy though. I have that project finished but I'm thinking of redoing it from scratch and then moving onto another project entirely. I've yet to learn any Sculpting though.

deffently start at the donut tutorial on RU-vid it will teach you the basics and he has othere tutorials as well

Go like this, start with donut, remeber the shortcut (very very important and that is the key for being good with blender), then learn about uv wrapping, learn what is geometry node (although you might not use it very ofter, based of what they do), understand the modifier (very important), learn texture painting, then start again with modelling low poly model, then go with high poly or detail, this time using sculpture..however, when you using sculpture for animating your model, then you will learn how to retopo,yes you can animate your object without retopo, but it will be pain in the ass…then when you ready, learn particle system, this one is absolutely heaven for humanoid object or animal..oh ya, dont forget about vertex group with weight painting..that is way im getting used to blender..but dont highly depends on tutorial, use it when you are really doubt or you are new to certain skill, learn it, and adapt it..experiment a bit, AND MAKE YOURSELF USED TO FREQUENTLY SAVE YOUR PROJECT, blender are really prone to crash randomly and your hardwork could be flush in digital sink..

Blender Guru has a great beginners tutorial with a donut where you learn the basics. I can really recommend Ryan King Art as well

geometry doesnt take up that much vram
