@@oughtabegood2061 Bro.. can u make tutorial on how to add hairs to a man in 2d video. I mean when the video is imported as plan how to add the hairs to the man and it follows the movement of the head.
Mate no one shows us the mouse clicks and keys like you do on the bottom left. That alone makes your videos the best for people who are learning. I'm gonna try this one as soon as my machine cools down ! EDIT: The curving of the shape you do at 1:36, mine curves weirdly and distorts the structure even if i turn on proportional editing. Also,my blades of grass are sitting like pointy things kissing the plane. if i rotate, they become right side up but start kissing the plane on the other side.
Hey Utsuk! Glad the screencast keys are helping! (: I know when I started I would only watch vids with em bc of the million blender shortcuts that everyone assumes you already know lol. For your first question: I'm not sure if I'm understanding this correctly, but I believe you may have converted the path to a mesh and then tried to deform it. Be sure to make these modifications while the path is a curve and proportional editing is turned off. For your second question: once the grass blades are right side up, try adjusting the origin so they're at the very base of the blade. You can do this by tabbing into edit mode and moving the blade around until the orange dot is at the base of the blade. Hope this helps!
5:15 There's 2 issues I keep encountering here. (Blender version 3.1.0) 1. the curves don't show up in the particle system unless I convert them to a mesh and 2. Linear Extapolation doesn't want to work. I've clicked it many times (with both keyframes selected) and it still just stops at the second keyframe.
Hey @ZUnkownFox ! Blender 3.0+ no longer supports the instancing of curves on particle systems. It looks like they intend to phase particle systems out in future versions of Blender (developer.blender.org/T93644), so I would recommend using Blender 2.9 for this tutorial. I'm working on replicating this effect with geometry nodes and will try to have a tutorial out soon! For your second question, I tested linear extrapolation on the turbulence field in 3.1.2 and it's still working. The only thing I can think of is you may be accidentally selecting "Constant Extrapolation" instead of "Linear Extrapolation". Try deleting the turbulence field and adding a new one, then be sure to select "linear extrapolation". Hope this helps!
how can i make the grass needlεs not getting through it s other? cause i ve made some fat stylized grass, and it s visible when they touch each other, they actually pass through
That's a great question! I looked into it and haven't found a way to handle this without turning on hair dynamics and collisions. Unfortunately, that tends to fry my computer when I test it because its wayyyy to many particles for it to handle. I'll keep experimenting and let you know if I find anything! (:
I'm having trouble getting my NurbsPath to show up in the particle system. When i click render as object and select nurbspath nothing shows up. could I get some help?
@@oughtabegood2061 3.1.2 I'm not sure if its just me making a mistake because I'm relatively new to particles but it seems that it wont work with any non mesh geometry. Side note but I've absolutely fallen in love with this technique.
@@itwastheegg I just checked and it looks like this might be a bug: developer.blender.org/T93644 It looks like they're planning on reworking the instancing of curves with hair particle systems in 3.0+, but for now, this method will definitely work in Blender 2.9. Otherwise, converting the curve to a mesh is a great fix as long as it isn't affecting performance!
@@oughtabegood2061 i think it was cg matters tut and i was doing alot of grass so i had it up to like 100,000 clumps of grass (around 20 polys each) plus the computer i use has pretty bad specs
@@vhs296 Thank's I appreciate the feedback! Try doing the tutorial in blender 2.9, I've noticed it no longer works in 3.0 because of a bug which was reported here: developer.blender.org/T93644
