Ah yes, my favorite channel to view over lunch. Thanks for posting! Is it okay if I share your channel on twitter with a link? I feel like it deserves waaayyy more exposure, especially in the modeling/blender community

Thanks, your video are great. Your probly the only channel on youtube breaking down modelling warplanes, tanks, navy, etc. in this way and givving practical tips for beginners and experts. I havent found any other channel on this platform who dose anything simular. What is the most important thing to learn for beginner modellers, and how would we go about it? Thanks!

Thanks for such a nice comment! Have you watched my series on making an ME-109? I tried to structure those videos in a way to help beginners at every step of the modeling process. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OXn2ySGtSLg.html I can't think of any one thing that is most important. There a lots of things to keep in mind while modeling, all of which contribute to a successful project. Big-picture concepts would be: 1. Before starting the project, have a good idea of where you want it to end up. You need a target to shoot for. 2. Do lots of research before starting. Organize that research material and really learn your subject matter. 3. Make your model full scale. This effects lighting, atmospherics, cameras, etc. It also makes your model compatible with other models you make. 4. Get the basic shape of your model fully built before adding details. 5. Keep your geometry as simple and as low-poly as possible. Quads are best, but you can get away with n-gons, particularly if you're working with hard surfaces. 6. Make your UV seams as you create each piece. This is especially helpful when you make a part that is used repeatedly over your model. If you mark the seams on the part before duplicating it, you will save a lot of time. 7. Use Collection Objects for repeated parts. That will save memory and processing time. 8. Start your Blender experience with simple projects and simple goals. Then chose specific areas to focus on, watch training videos on those specific topics and then design projects where you can focus on that skill. 8. Make backup copies of your project file frequently. 9. Try to find people who will honestly critique your work. It's sometimes hard to hear honest feed-back, but it is one of the best ways of making progress. BlenderArtists.org has lots of people that will critique your work and give honest feedback. I'm sure there are other art sites as well.

Hey Mark, I was watching your bf109 modeling course and reinterpreted it to model a yak-9; Is there is any way to contact you and ask for your feedback on the aircraft ?

Can you post your work on Blender Artists? I would like to see your work and I'm sure others would too.

Very useful concept for modifying markings for a group of objects. Blender does support image sequences for textures. However the basic node does not have any control for selecting a specific frame (its mainly intended for animation). However it's possible to add a driver that will then give you a value node that can be used to select a specific frame. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bq3RiZvqXMg.html is a tutorial for setting up this driver. Once you have that value node available you can use random (or sequence) to select the image frame for the unique texture for each object. I think this would be a more generic and flexible way to achieve the same result. I have not tried this myself but the concept seems sound.
