Finally a proper fix! Can't thank you enough my man, pure gold! Now the bone sizes are correct and i can finally generate a working Physics Asset. Couldn't have done it whitout you!

Glad it helped with the physics asset too! I noticed that a lot of people having the same issue were also having physics assets problems

John I would like to shake your hand, I spent 2 days without sleep bashing over this problem. Thank you very mach! There are very few people who help with this.

Thank you for making this video. The default scaling issues destroyed with my physics assets and the 'Send to Unreal' Blender plugin destroyed my animations. This is a functional solution to both problems.

This is a great video, thank you. If you're unable to adjust the model in blender, an alternative method is you can add sockets and apply a scale of .01 to the socket and then attach to the socket instead of to the bone.

I was having this problem and started following this solution. However I had already changed measurement to 0.01 and then scaled up my model. Plus I don't have a root bone like in the video. I found another solution that I will share. If you have already scaled, select everything, hit ctrl+A and apply all transformations. Now all of your scales will be at 1.0 and when you import into UE the root bone will be the correct scale. Now this will break everything, but I have a weird fix for that too. I had exported my migrated my mesh and everything to another dummy UE game to test, but the IK and IK retargetter did not go. When I then migrated them across to the dummy game it fixed everything! So I thought it was fine and reimported the mesh into my game... and everything broke. But then I re-migrated the IK and retargetter from the dummy game back to my game, and for some reason it fixed everything...

you are a time and stress saver, I hope can find the way of the blending road sou you can always model and sculp without the fear of getting a single event upset wich might make lose your tweny five hours project

Followed every step of this process thoroughly. However, when I apply the root pose as the new rest pose, the scale of the bones shrink back down to the original tiny scale. Still ripping my hair out over this :/

Sorry I'm not able to help without a better understanding of your scenario. Make sure that you're scaling the root bone in pose mode and not the armature object, this is a very subtle and easy mistake to make.

Applying rest pose to a scaled armature with the mesh unparented seems to fix Apply Scale breaking the bones as well, should you be attempting to port a pre-made Blender model to Unreal (other people don't tend to care about their armatures being scaled in Blender).

This seems to be the issues I'm having. But is this fix in its context still correct for Blender 3.0+. My only issue with the fix is changing the scene to 0.01. As Blender gives me a warning/error when I try to export or pipeline anything to Unreal when the scale is set to 0.01.

I'm currently using Blender 3.2 and UE 5.1. I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary when using the unit scale inside of Blender. Are you using a Blender to Unreal plugin? The warning may be coming from that. You should also be able to export from Blender with unit scale set to 1, and then set the import uniform scale to 0.01 in UE when you go to import. That should give you same result.
