this works very good for same source. But what about when the sources are different? I'm working in this track where we are 3 guitars, in a group tribute to Alexi Laiho, and one of them is doubled, so there are 4 guitars rythm. How can i work their phases around?
I believe that because the takes are separate, they wouldn't interfere with each other and wouldn't create any phase issues so this approach is not needed. You can, however, always experiment with this and see if the result is getting better by shifting the phase!
If you are miking up a cab, yes. If you are using Axe FX IRs, then they would already be synchronised well, I believe You can always try the method, worst case scenario you will see that any adjustments make the sound worse hence you just bypass the delay correction
I’m using archetype gojira wow pedal to pitch shift down to drop A. It sounds good when I record each L & R track separately but I’m getting a weird phasing ping ponging of the tone when I’m monitoring both tracks together live. Any ideas how I can solve? Could it be the IRs or is it the two instances of gojira plug-in with wow pedal conflicting?
I'm not 100 percent sure on what may be causing this, unfortunately. Maybe, some weird latency introduced by pitch shifting? You could try printing both Gojira channels and then fixing phase offline
@@DrMikeMetal thanks for getting back to me. The strange thing is that when I print them separately and playback together it’s fine. It’s just live monitoring that’s the issue. Thanks again 🙏🏼🤘🏼
