In this video, I explain the basics of the Andruil software/firmware modes operation on the Sofirm BLF LT1 lantern, (*Andruil is the operating firmware program developed by team member ToyKeeper on BudgetLightForums.)
I LOVE YOU MAN 2023. I bought this gem 2 years ago used it 2 times left it at my sister's house came to visit and could not NOT for the life of me figure out how to turn off the clicker light. I looked everywhere. Just know today you helped 1 person out tremendously! Hope you're well happy new years 😊
It is definitely a masterpiece! Was amazed by detail, wire used for hanging the lantern stays still when pushed down both sides. Perfection in details. Anduril is quite complicated for the beginner. Was glad to find this video. $56 for such a lantern with 4 18650 is a deal. No doubts. Big thanks and greetings from Ukraine.
THANK YOU. Just what I needed as a muggle. Most other reviews assume that the viewer is a light expert, or very familiar with light UI basics. The manual is written broadly like that also imo. For example I didn't know what "lock out" was until I saw you unscrew the barrel. Congrats on the design, and well done Sofirn.
Thanks for designing an amazing lantern! Your work was greatly appreciated! I also want to comment that I tested the sunset mode and it dims very slowly (almost hard to tell by the naked eye) and turned off at 1 hour and 5 minutes, so it does in fact work! LOL!
Thank you I will be getting one of those at the end of the month unless of course there are shipping problems from China or whatever but if I can get it direct from Amazon then it's a done deal. That is exactly the way I would like a light to function with those kinds of options. I see they are about 90 bucks for those who would like to know. Nobody would like to spend that much if they could just spend $15. I guess I'll get what I pay for.
Something not mentioned in this video… To make sure you can access the majority of these modes make sure you’re in advanced UI mode by using 10 click, hold
Thanks for the tips…bit of device…. adverb. Britannica Dictionary definition of BASICALLY. 1. : in a general or basic way - used to say that something is true or correct as a general statement even if it is not entirely true or correct. There are a few boring parts, but basically [=generally, for the most part], it's a very good book.
Momentary mode requires battery disconnect to exit as shown in the video. This is intended. Momentary is designed for doing Morse code or other signaling. You don't want to accidentally exit in the middle of a message. For example, five short flashes in Morse code is the number 5.
Very interesting its great to see how this has come along over time, and im loving the ability to ramp the tint, not see that before. I love Anduril but i think if i handed this to someone on a camping trip with the anduril manual their head would explode lol. What do you think about as muggle version which adds a small led screen like the nitecore TUP? with that i could see this going mainstream as a very capable lantern for camping. Thanks for the video and thanks for the time you have put into this project, great work mate.
@@NightmareSluagh well shucks. I did see that when you're going to store it for a long period, you can twist the bottom part to stop the connection between the batteries and the light. That way the light on the button turns off too. But i also seen that somebodies light was grinding their batteries, they said like a cheese grader. Because that person would twist the light to turn it on and off instead of using the button. Not sure if that's a design flaw or just a factory defect with his light only.
I’ve bought one lantern off of Sofirn’s EBay store due to it’s price being to good to pass up. Would 18650 KeepPower 3600mAh Panasonic NCR18650G Protected Button Tops work fine with the lantern?
Need HELP! Took out my LT1 after a year, batts were all dead (0.02 V). Before ordering new batts, tried the HEAD only with the USB-C cable, light still does NOT work, and switch light stays RED. Any thoughts…is it trashed?
That is really odd.. Sounds like there must be a short in the driver section? If the LT1 is left with the battery tube screwed tight & the side glow switch light is in on mode, and the lantern is not used or charged for a very long time, (ex: A year or more) there has been some cases where the side glow light can slowly drain cells past the minimum voltage rate, then one cell can go bad & drain the rest dead. DO you have another single button tom good 18650 to test in it? ( the LT1 can run on a singe one cell.) was the head electronically locked out? ( the Andruil user-sheet explains the procedure. if you have a single battery, you can reset the user interface by loosening the battery tube, then pressing & holding the side button on continuously while tightening the tube to re-connect the battery power, and hold it on for 3 seconds to set to factory settings. Thy those to see if that works.
@DBSARlight ...Tried again with (2) 18650 batteries (4.13V each). Checked lockout 4Clicks, no changes. Tried unscrewing tube, holding button, rescrewing tube, hold button... nothing. The ONLY sign of life is the red switch when USB-C connected... but no light from LEDs with any clicks.
@@roadracerqx893 Ok are you a member of the BLF community forum> ( here: budgetlightforum.com/node/44923 That topic about the development of the LT1 has a lot of information, also you can contact "Barry" who runs Sofirn (who built the lantern for us) he can likely send you a new top section if yours is defective. Post your issue there, so the other members of my team can see it, like Toykeeper who developed the Andril software, and Barry who worked with us to built the LT1. He can likely help you.
@DBSARlight ...Yeah, on BLF. Already had posted a thread for help...no luck. Also emailed Barry and sent vid, he seems to think it's too hard to fix.. plus out of warranty. He didn't offer up a new head unit.
When I got to momentary I twisted it, now it won't turn back on. The button light is on, the only time it lights up is when I twist it on, and I can't seem to get it to factory reset when I try.
Try removing the batteries for 5 to 10 minutes, then see if that works. If not there may be an issue with your firmware, and need to contact the seller you purchases yours from.
Right now it is sold out, but more will be available in April once they get stock back in, in the meantime the project topic can be found here: > budgetlightforum.com/node/44923
DBSARlight -I purchased one back in April 2020, and I like it so much I just bought a second one here in October. Am waiting for it to arrive -thank you for designing such a PERFECT lantern I absolutely love it !! God bless from Mississippi, USA.
There is no link for it, but its the same andruil instruction sheet i scanned from the instructions & printed small enough to roll up to fit inside. The full size image can be found in hte BLF LT1 topic, or here: imgur.com/N0dftkw
Just search for "BLF LT1 Lantern review Green Campfire" which is located on GreenCampfire.com. That is probably easier than searching them out separately. Thanks DBSARlight for the useful instructional video!
its likely the settings you have it in, try going through the diagram sheet for the firmware, or remove the batteries for more than 10 minutes to see if that helps. There is a help topic on the BudgetLightForums specifically for the BLF LT1 lantern to help people with questions and issues. - DB
