I have the rivarossi heritage DCC sound big boy, I also got to demo the bli ho scale big boy but for me personally I couldn't pay the extra for the bli and felt the price difference was a bit too far a jump. The bli does have better detail and smoke but I still love the one I got
Very nice. Be aware that some BLI N scale steam locos tend to have electrical pick up issues and won't run well after a while or at all. I have a N scale PRR T1 Duplex and even a forced resets doesn't help. They fixed it once for me, but it had issues a second time. So if anything happens to your engine, good luck trying to get in contact with them. My PRR T1 is my first and last BLI product. Hopefully you won't have any issues with your Reading T1.
@Random4-6-2 it probably doesn't affect every locomotive, but I know there are certainly quite a few people who have had pickup and decoder issues with BLI locomotives.
I’ve had my BLI pacific (R&N 425) for almost 2 years now, it has been run a lot and it still runs just as silky smooth as the day I bought her. Might just be your loco is defective. None of my friends have had issues with many BLI locos that sound like yours so that’s probably likely.
@@gamingwithlukeJToH I have heard that too. The PRR T1's have issues with their decoders and pickups. It still makes sound, lights up, but try to make it move it resets and well it becomes herkey jerkey and goes through the start up sequence again. The one I have is a first batch release (Bought in 2019), so it could very well have defective parts. I am tempted to have a Soundtrax decoder and new pick ups installed in it. It ran beautifully when it worked and I loved watching race around the club layout with it's coaches.
@@MBTA-1028 Many of my fellow club members have BLI locos too, and they don't have any problems either. I guess I got unlucky. To be fair the BLI PRR T1's are the first to be mass produced in N scale outside of expensive and imported brass one. I heard that their diesels and other steam locos tend to fair better. Still it doesn't leave a good impression for a first BLI model.
I have to say, every BLI product I have bought so far has been just a joy to run. From my very first of theirs, an HO ATSF 4000, to my latest purchase of some N scale freight equipment, I have no complaints. Although, I have friends who have had loads of problems with their BLI models, so I might just be lucky.
Hello crsftyfox I am wondering if you want to do thomas and friends models … They make a HO scale thomas Tho for there n scale system they have skarloey being 009 . That means it is in scale with HO however fits and runs on N scale rails and is HO narrow gauge . Bachman makes lots of British prototype models tho skarloey for Thomas and friends with slate trucks 1,2&3 to go with him And the real life skarloey is a train in wales called talylln . And I saw her last week . She is currently in this dark blue colour that looks amazing . Tho skarloey has his maroon red And I don’t know if your able to convert skarloey to knuckle coupler comparable but I do know the coupler at the front and back can be removed if need be . It’s well worth it to have a little red British train for your layout . Get him and you won’t be disappointed
