UMK21-voittaja Blind Channel edustaa Suomea vuoden 2021 Euroviisuissa!
Just because a song isn’t your thing or you don’t understand doesn’t make it objectively bad. It’s about time we have a Eurovision with as many genres as possible to truly celebrate European music.
Exactly, enceladus. I'm not a rock fan myself, or 'violent pop' as the band likes to call this piece, but this one is actually the right choice for Finland in this particular time. I guess you agree.
@@synthernia5587 The band themselves call it 'violent pop', but then again, people can call it whatever they want. What's important in the end game, is the music itself.
I have always felt that Finland and Iceland are the only 2 Nordic countries who dare to send something dangerous or interesting, and don't care about the results in Eurovision. Well respect.👍
@@mikrokupu Yes, for me, like Norway, Sweden, Denmark are always playing safe. On the other hand, like Finland and Iceland, they dare to take risks, and you would respect they send something different. Sometimes they send very shit songs, but sometimes they just WOW you.
As someone from Denmark, I recall myself being excited when Rasmussen ended up representing my country in 2018 due to it being the most "alternative" song that we've sent in a long time. And that song is basically a slow tempo pop song. The only thing that made it different was the visual aesthetic. If a country like Finland had sent out a song like that, I would care much less about the song, because I can expect more experimental stuff from countries like Finland. I wish my country had the balls to add basically any rock genre harder than country rock and pop rock to their national competition.
@@hyde4004 Not that consistently... Hanna Pakarinen was 17th in the 2007 final, Teräsbetoni was 22nd in 2008, Waldo's People was 25th (last place) in 2009, Pertti Kurikka didn't even qualify in 2015. The only ones that actually did well are Lordi (1 in 2006) and Softengine (11 in 2014). Paradise Oskar did better than half of them (which is well deserved since he was great). Heck, back in 1975, we were 7th in the final with a country-themed fiddle song. I first listened to it today, and love it since it reminds me of John Denver. 👌
@@DeltaSilver88 You really can't compare those with Lordi or softengine. Pakarinen wasn't rock/metal, neither was waldo's people. Singing in finnish obviously doesn't work that well for international audience and PKN just didn't work in any language (they were there for totally different reasons that had nothing to do with music and you know that).
The song itself is an absolute bomb, but the performance has such a high level of energy from every band member, not just the vocalists, that it's impossible to sit still when this one's on. I'm so glad I found your music!
12 points from Russia! Now I absolutely know for whom I'll give my voice on eurovision 2021!) Let's make rock popular again! Finland obviously knows what rock is!
@@tariq32158 Yes, it´s really a good and interesting sound in this rock anthem. I just wanted the sound to be a bit different in the end so it would sound less repetitive and really explode in the end. It´s still good though.
Hannu sirkkilä Speaking of Melodifestivalen: When I heard another song by Mustasch (Lawbreaker) for the first time, I liked that one more than "Pretender", but "Pretender" was definitely better than "Contagious". Just a little over-produced, but that's to be expected - it's still Sweden, after all 😜.
this hit different compared to the other songs. they didn't have that kind of a "climax" or any kind of exciting build-up like this one had. this is such a good song too, performed by an awesome band. definetly going in the top 5.
I hope they will win the Eurovision Song Contest. This song is soo amazing, powerful and unique. I'm in love with it! 12 Points! Greetings and good luck from Germany 🇩🇪❤️🇫🇮 🤘
If you ever have a chance to see them live, then do it! Blind Channel is easily one of the best live band's I've ever seen. Their energy is just insane!
We cannot even start to speak about battle between Finland and Italy in Eurovision Song Contest. Blind Channel is on it's own league. Their hole album "Violent Pop" is pure awesomeness. "Nyt ei olla liikkeellä millään kumiveneellä"
Finland are like the figurative and literal trolls of Eurovision, i think they almost understimate their own ability to do better than anyone thinks. This can absolutely make top 5.
Well, we always suck at voting for the correct choice. The last time we had a good entry was in 2017 with Blackbird. It was about time we did something right again. :D
@@princessconsuelabananahamm3329 I don't consider Saara Aalto that good since her stage show overshadowed her. I also thought Domino was a better song than Monsters, so the result made me go "Finns vote wrong, as always...".
@@DeltaSilver88 i think domino was better too, but monsters flopped because of the stage show, not because it wouln't have been a good song. So i think saara aalto was a good performer too.
Yeah, this might do well although it's some sort of pop metal, lol. Too much junk sent from Finland to Eurovision along the years. People making these decisions try to steer towards meaningless dance poop for some insane reason while in reality most Finns dig way more serious music, like well played real instruments and good singing, touching lyrics etc. Must admit we also dig dark humour, sarcasm and... trolling a bit.
Kyllä se faktaa on, että ainoo millä Suomi menestyy maailmalla on rock/heavy rock. Uskon, että Blind Channel tulee vielä olemaan miljoonien ihmisten korvilla. Suunta on kuitenkin ylöspäin! Vaikkei euroviisuja voittaisi, niin takuulla pääsevät keikkailemaan oikein isosti!
@@garlik300 as an Italian I'm glad so many people like you like them cause I personally love them and I'm glad they'll represent our country, although I don't want to compare them to Finland as they are different genres and so I don't feel like I like one of them better than the other one. They're both so good and I hope the best for the both of them
Can't believe Finland provided us such a good entry finally! UMK had great production and the overall results were so deserved! Finland is definately a top 10 material! Good luck from Greece!
