We talked talk to lots of government workers working with Rockingham County, NC in relation to Mike Nelson from "Blind Justice"'s case. Mike is a blind veteran whose arrest was ordered Judge Chris Freeman if he showed up to court with his assistive devices, which contradicts the ADA and NC GS168A. This order comes after he was targeted for his activism, concussed, arrested, and tortured for no crime or charger other than "resisting an officer." More on that here: unsubpress.blo...

After several calls going directly to voicemail we got a number that worked and had conversations with the court bailiff as well as the detention center (jail) administration and nursing staff. We wanted to see not only if "law enforcement" would enforce the law and disobey the unlawful order by the judge, but also if Mike would be accommodated under the law for disabled inmates if arrested rather than have his prescribed devices (and clothes) taken.
The nurse told us later in the recording that he could of course not have his sunglasses confiscated that assist with pain from light many with blindness deal with, as well as minimum and reasonable assistive devices for blindness. Hope there's anyone willing to make sure the law is followed in our "justice" system though, as the bailiff basically told us they would enforce the judge's order over the state law.
Even if they're not wanting to enforce the law or give us the answers (or even people to talk to) that we hoped, they know we're paying attention and injustice won't be done again in the dark. That's a start.
