Mine & my ex's was exactly like him but had more turquoise with orange - the sweetest pet ever! We never caged him not even when he was a baby and he ate our food with us too.

Sadly they r bred for that color which can result n many defects. Like white shepherds, every litter is going to have some pups with eye &/or ear issues 😮‍💨 I feel like it's irresponsible breeding when u KNOW u r going to birth individuals with significant defects 🥺

Yes, unfortunately albino Iguanas often have eyesight problems due to light sensitivity. 😮‍💨 They are much less aggressive (and usually better pets) than other green iguana morphs, but that comes at a cost. If you’d like one I would suggest doing thorough preparation then adopting a rescue albino Iguana. Iguanas can be quite difficult to keep and a there are other lizards that are much more manageable pets. Bearded dragons, leopard geckos, corn snakes, ackie monitors, blue tongued skinks, gargoyle geckos, musk turtles, and crested geckos are some good alternatives. Argentine black and white tegus are wonderful large lizards to keep, often described as dog-like. Remember to always do reaserch and preparation before getting a new pet. It's unfortunate so many people don't believe that reptiles can be pets. I would say that the majority of them aren't so friendly. And are more likely to tolerate us than love us. But they definitely have personalities and can be great pets if cared for from a young age. I believe it's a stretch to think that most reptiles are just the same as a dog in their ability to love humans. But it doesn't mean they are cold emotionless animals either.

@@coreyhamby2989 why is it a stretch? Lizards can show affection, but their body language/how they behave will very completely different because they aren't dogs. They as a species have their own behavior and even with in that each genus can have different ways to communicate than another. Overall when a lizard voluntarily crawls to you in a warm condition who isn't hungry or has no other needs it's a great feeling because there is no reason for it besides them just wanting to hang with you. I believe emerald lizards have shown this behavior they glass surf until you let them out then they jump on their humans crawling all on them. Some beardies just like dogs get excited by the glass then when released will chill once they are on you. No they aren't human, but their capability to love isn't less it's just communicated differently just like dogs, birds, cats, etc.

I have a tortoise and it’s very clear in watching him that they feel love in their own way. My tortoise is super comfortable around me but not around strangers. He lives in my back yard. He’s a sulcata so he’s big. And I live in the desert and it’s a perfect climate for him. When he wants she’ll pets or more food or if he wants me to come outside he stands on the door mat and literally knocks on the door. Well he more like scratches/paws at the door with one of his front legs. Reptiles are amazing and so different than people think they are. Videos like this one and stories like yours and mine are proof of that. I’m glad u got to experience the love and joy and personal growth/gained knowledge/perspective that comes w owning and loving a reptile ❤️

@@francagiammarino3098 Yep! I’ve never seen a dragon with albinism before, I knew they existed, but never really thought about it. But this relationship is so squishy and lovely! Ahhh, it makes me smile all the way to my soul!

Need to spoil them! Mine absolutely loved car rides like a dog. As we approached the car he would start swimming in my arms towards the back door. I'd cruz around the neighborhood with him mostly up into the back window cuz he loved bobbing his head at cars behind us when we'd come to a stop 😄

I got to hold one once and he was all differnt colors, he had a lot of green and blue but also mostly yellow and orange like this. The owner said that he was mostly green and blue but as he got older he changed colors. Iguanas turn orangey during breeding season to show dominance, but Idk what it means when one changes orange permanently. The only thing I can find on google is that it's like a form of albanism, there's no green pigment at all so the animal came out in only orange color. That could also explain the blindness, albanism can cause vision impairment in animals and people because you need pigment in your irises to reflect light properly. My brother was born with ocular albanism - pigment missing only in his irises even though he's not albino and there's some color in his eyes, enough of it was missing to make his eyes colorless (they're like a very pale gray green, the rest of us have green eyes), and it caused him to be nearly blind without glasses.

@@-desertpackrat You are correct. This looks like a fancy morph related to albinism, where he's unable to produce the green pigment in his skin. The eye issues would be a big problem for a wild animal, but they can have a good quality of life with a caring owner.

This is a red variety of a green iguana. They also come in darker browns, olive green and some albino ones are even yellow or beige colored. There are also several species of monitors that are referred to as "dragons" .

I learned gourmet egg preparation methods thanks to my iguana. I'd top off with plenty fresh shaven organic carrots. Veggie pizza was his most favorite rare treat tho - the 2nd time ordering delivery in a month, he REMEMBERED & unexpectedly jumped off his window perch instead of using his ramp then scrambled towards the front door!
