I still find it odd that Filthy Rich is nice in equestria but in the human world hes a jerk.

Most fans, including me, thought this was going to be a dramatic episode about the death of AJ's parents, and instead it was mostly comedic with no mention of the parents whatsoever. Despite it not being what most of us were expecting, I still consider it to be AJ's best episode of the series, and it is one of the funniest episodes of the season.

AJ's parents WOULD be alive if Applebloom wasn't born yet. In my react I thought they would already be dead since we never saw them in this flashback! But I never thought about Applebloom, thinking it over. They HAD to have been there if AB at that time didn't exist! I assume the logical choice is that the parents are traveling or visiting family (it is possible with how large the Apple Family is). They just we'rent there at SAA during that flashback. This was a fun episode. It gave us an insight into why Big Mac doesn’t talk much and how Applejack strives to be honest all the time.

I would have to say in this episode, though not seen, AJ's parents ARE alive because Apple Bloom and Diamond Tiara go to school together. Since Filthy Rich is only engaged to Spoiled Milk they obviously haven't had their daughter yet, so Apple Bloom hasn't been born yet either.

This pretty much has to be before AB is born, right? Think of it this way: Spoiled Milk is still Rich's fiance' in this episode, and DT and the CMC are all right around the same age. Unless MLP is willing to tackle premarital conception (yeah no), then there's no way AB is born yet in this episode.

Another note to make is we see that apple jack doesn't have her hat. So does this mean the hat was her fathers ...or possibly her mothers and giver to her as by them as they passed on or as a gift to her for her birthday on the yr they passed. Maybe from granny gives it to apple jack as a way to feel still connected to her parents ?

Now that I think about it, I think Spoiled Rich and Flithy Rich got married cause she was pregnant. Cause in Season 9, it shows a flashback and AJ and Big Mac are younger and AppleBloom is a baby. And assuming AppleBloom and Diamond Tiara are the same age, this wouldn’t make sense.

Its funny that you mention going to an apple farm. Where I live in upstate NY, every year the Goold's Orchards apple farm has their weekend Apple Fest with live entertainment, food, and crafts. Not to mention the fresh baked goods, apple cider, and my favorite apple cider donuts. In fact I went to the festival today with my daughter and boyfriend. If the place you're going has cider donuts, make sure to try them!

I love this episode! Mainly because it feels like it's more to put backstory behind Big Macintosh's "Eeyup"s. Which I love that they cleared that up. Love that they put to rest the idea that Bic Mac was mentally challenged.

I think apple bloom was probably a toddler during that flash back because she was a baby when apple jack was a kid.

All I could think during this episode was that Spoiled Rich was even _worse_ when she was younger. What in Equestria did he see in her!?

This was the only episode to have Applejack, Big Macintosh, Applebloom and Granny Smith in there, none of the Mane Six are in there, just Applejack from the Mane Six in solo form. The Spanish dub is pretty darn good, and so does Italian, both sounded as good as it gets, but close to the original. I’ll give both Spanish and Italian dubs an A+.

BigMac’ s story snips are just like Applejacks snips in “Every little thing she does” the SHINNING twins very creepy, Derpy is rich, the money from the malpractice suit against the hospital. Spoiled Milk trapped Filthy Rich into marring her. Applebloom is with family in next county, The Parents are pretending to be dead till they can control the raging beasts that dwell within. And yes Don Granny Smith is the most feared pony in ponyvile.

Interesting thoughts about Apple Bloom. Was she still a foal during this, just not shown, or not born yet.....who knows?

But she had an accident with a microscope: during one of her experiments one of them overheated and the glass lens broke, the shards getting into her eyes :s She's been hospitalized, and the doctors managed to pull out all the glass shards, but her eyes were no longer the same after that :/ and she had to drop her career as a bubbleologist :( She was very depressed about that :( But then some interesting stream of events led her to discover her new passion, which is mail carrying. Thanks to her walled eyes she can navigate in the air very well and deliver mail faster than any other mail pony in Equestria ;) OK, I need to find some time to watch your afterthoughts to "Legend of Everfree", as I promised. It was made clear the kids were fighting for control of the farm. So clearly the parents were out of the picture now, kids don't fight for control of the farm with healthy parents alive and around. Applebloom may have been born but maybe the parents already died, and the baby was taken care of by a wet nurse. Sentient ponies would need more than a year on milk, maybe 2, so a newborn would have to be on a wet nurse if the mother is gone.

Well for a cartoon horse, Spoiled Milk/Rich wasn't overly bad looking in her younger years, so I could maybe see why he would have been physically attracted to her. Mayor mare dyes her hair to make herself look older and Celestia runs the whole god damn country. xd

big mac was pretty good in this episode. enjoyed his character, as well as filthy rich. applejack did look pretty cute with all those freckles. you were so excited about this episode and was fun watching you throughout this episode. can't wait until the rest of the season. I also been staying away from the leaked episodes waiting for both you and Silicon Brony to do those episodes so I can watch them through your commentaries.

Where the apple lies, when I first heard the title I thought it meant where applejacks mom and dads graves were.

I'm back after a long while! this episode is really entertaining, hilarious I would say, a humor centric episode similar to the saddle row review while giving deeper characterization to big Mac, applejack, and even filthy rich and spoiled milk (why not spoiled rotten for a name? it would actually mean a bit better compared to 'milk':/) But really, who knew big Mac ceased to speak much when he used to be such a blabbermouth? granny is a boss that scared filthy to submission and aj might have as well caused damage on granny's hip with the constant bashing. Apple bloom being absent makes sense since filthy and spoiled are still engaged at that point, but we all sure wished we can find out about aj's parents. With a good moral presented, this episode is a wild ride alright, and seeing your reaction made my day! can't wait to see the reactions for upcoming finale episodes!

At least you've had better luck avoiding spoilers than I have, plus you have friends to keep you from being spoiled over the comments section. It was already ruined for me when the episodes came up in the "Recommended" section on my channel, and their thumbnails revealed key plot details.

Wow. Big Mac was such a chatterbox back then.

On the one hand, "Spoiled Milk" made me lol. On the other, I'd expect that a fair amount of bullying would come with a name like that as a little filly. Seriously, parents, wtf? That's basically setting your daughter up to develop a bad attitude. Though it would actually kind of explain a lot about her character and be a pretty plausible depiction of the kind of cycle that can get started with bullying. She gets bullied, then after getting power through dating/marrying Filthy she starts bullying others (including her daughter). Her daughter feels insecure because of her mother's treatment, and being more powerful than her classmates due to her family, she starts bullying them. Seriously, no wonder she took the Rich name when they got married. On the subject of the Rich family, I'm glad that they stayed true to the Filthy Rich that we saw earlier in the series, and didn't just make him the same as his Equestria Girls counterpart or how he's sometimes depicted in the comics. When he first showed up he was a lot like Fancy Pants in that he was an inversion of the typical wealthy snob trope. Rather than being over-the-top rude snobs, both of them actually turned out to be genuinely respectable and mostly nice ponies. So it's good to see that they're still treating him that way - a businessman to the core, yes, but not a jerk by any means. There was also a nice little bit of worldbuilding/fanon confirmation on the side. We've confirmed that changing your family name for marriage is definitely a thing (between the Cakes and Pies I already figured it was, but explicit confirmation always helps). We've confirmed that unicorns can have their horns broken, though we're not sure if they can grow them back. We've seen that Derpy may have attempted some kind of corrective procedure for her eyes, or at least that she had some condition probably related to her eyes. Anyway, we have one more to go before the finale (well...not for me, since I wasn't able to resist watching the leak), so if they can make it through that without another mediocre Applejack episode I think we'll be able to safely say that her stories this season ended on a high note. Certainly a silly one between this and PPOV, but a high one all the same. Also, there seems to be a trend in these last few episodes with the Apples not being able to finish stories that I'd really love to hear. Between Applejack's brief summaries of the family photos in Every Little Thing She Does, Big Mac's stories about why he calls himself "Big" (and wears his yoke) and how he got his cutie mark, and Granny's stories about the Apple Blight, I seriously want to see some kind of "Apple Journal" like the Journal of the Two Sisters/Friendship Journal that actually gives us the rest of those little stories.

this was a good lesson like everybody always say nobody is not perfect we all make mistakes but sometimes we learn from it and yes sometimes we forget but that's how the lesson is huh
