For #WorldSightDay, we want to share a talk from our Deputy Research Director and military archaeologist, Bob, on the assistive technology he uses day-to-day to fully immerse himself in the workings of our research team since becoming visually impaired.
Bob walks us through some truly innovative equipment and shares a very real insight into the barriers archaeologists with disabilities face and how, with some forethought and ingenuity, archaeology can become a more inclusive, diverse space.
This video was presented at the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists' 2024 conference on ‘Dismantling legacies and collectively building new ones- breaking barriers and bias in archaeology’.
