Man, people really underestimate how hard it is to play Scott era drums. The endurance and sheer speed needed (especially for your right hand) is absolutely insane, especially when you're doing a whole setlist of songs like that. Especially considering that they played faster live, in about the 230 bpm range, nuts.

I think that Scott Raynor was what early Blink needed. Fast, straightforward, no frills punk drumming that complimented the sound of the first two albums. Travis Barker was the kind of drummer Blink needed to push the band forward in terms of musical ability and songwriting skill. His more varied styles fitted the experimental nature of the untitled and Neighborhoods albums and the Dogs Eating Dogs EP. Raynor's style served the songs Barker's enhanced them.

I relived the era of Blink 182, in just 5 minutes

The skateboards, the NOFX posters, etc make me so nostalgic. I miss the whole pop punk era.

Apparently I listened to way more Blink-182 when I was younger than I thought. I knew every single song.

"Mutt" has to be one of my favorite drum beats from Blink. It's simple and gets you ready 😁

Dude Ranch is honestly my most favorite album from blink-182. I can listen to it almost everyday and never get sick of it, I won't even skip a song on it either. Truly and blissfully the best album.

To all you bitching about Scott's drumming that is his style: Fast-paced, and straight to the point. That was fit for skate-punk (which Blink was doing before EOTS) Travis's drumming style is a more complex and hip hoppy which was perfect for the pop-punk sound.

So hey. You're a good drummer.

Scott's drum parts are underrated imo. Not as tech... but damn they are fun to play and listen to.

Man, Scott Raynor was such a beast on the drums. I kinda wish he had stayed in the band. But then again.. I really like how Blink-182 turned out in the 90s too.. So I dunno. Anyways, I'm a fan of both eras.

This just shows how much of an improvement Travis Barker was. Going through Scott's songs, they're almost all the same. It was definitely their style at the time, but they've evolved so much over the years. Been really awesome to experience.

Great Video man! Also I think that Scott Raynor was a faster drummer than Travis Barker, and that it suited Blinks fast music in the 90s but Travis is more technical.

in terms of drumming, enema of the state is one of the most amazing albums ever. travis' phrasing is genius.

Blink had 2 amazing drummers, as awesome as Scott was, Travis's playing is INSTANTLY recognizable when you hear it, partly because of how his drums sound, but mostly because his beats and playing is so unique and creative. Amazing job man!

This quickly prompted me to put Blink on Spotify and go from start to finish. Talk about a trip down memory lane.

I helped Travis Barker setup some practice drums on the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship which he uses to get over to Europe post-crash. Got to chat with him got a few minutes too since I was the drummer on board. Cool guy! Great drummer.

I was in 7th grade when enema of the state came out. It was the first CD that I ever owned and really got me into the wide spectrum of the “rock” genre. Still to this day I rock it and TOYPAJ. This video, from the music, to the skateboards and posters on the wall, really took me back. The nostalgia is real. Glad I stumbled across this. Great video man!!
