Pointless playing in Drop D. This isnt played properly. Tom's way is the easiest way, in standard. Its not even hard. Only thing i struggled with was amp settings.
I like this version of the song cause it's the first one found in drop d. I've seen most people play a half step down. The pre-chorus was a little confusing because it's hard to see you're fingers. Nonetheless it was easy enough to pick up the song in no time.
Thank you so much- this song brought my life into an amazing place after I discovered blink and it’s been my favourite song since. Now I have an electric guitar you have made my dream come true to be able to play this!
So many people asking how to palm mute! Fuck I learned from MTV! I miss the old MTV. Rest the pinkie side of your palm slightly on the strings directly next to the bridge and down stroke away with power chords, when you get good you can lift your palm and make little bursts with the power chords like you hear on alot of green day songs off of dookie. It teaches quick wrist movement which is essential for any kind of rock.
D:4 not 3, its awkward as hell but it's how its played so G:2 D:4 D:0 and repeat. Takes a while to get the pinky strong enough to press down but the sound accuracy is worth it 💚
Thanks Forehead! I'm glad it helps! This comment means a a lot bud, It's awesome to hear my students making progress :) Keep up the good work and keep rockin'!
Hector Diaz Hi and thanks for the comment! Well the original was on an electric, a fender strat but either one should sound fine. There's not right or wrong answer :) Have fun with it and keep rockin Hector!

You mean adjust? It could be anything causing a buzz even his playing. Its rarely a truss rod adjustment but rather the bridge or nut or shitty strings and playing. I love when guitar players that aren’t that great give lessons.
@@Kidnapthegovernor you can tune your whole guitar down a step and play the intro a different way. Much less of a stretch. If you search marty music, he teaches it this way. In my opinion it sounds better. Hope this helps
Thank you so much for this lesson! I've tried all sorts of tabs and they didn't make nearly as much sense as this tutorial. Thanks for the help man; you've earned a new subscriber :D
+ajmem AJ (ajmem AJ) Awesome! Thanks buddy! I promise to keep all kinds of good new stuff comin your way. Got a bunch of new lessons set to publish on Jan 1! Thanks my friend ;)
hey im having a hard time palm muting, are u suppose to like completely mute ur strings or are u suppose to just subtely rest ur palm so it only mutes halfway?
In the intro, you use open "A" then 2nd fret "D" then 3rd fret "A", After that you switched to 5th fret "E" 2nd fret "D" 3rd fret "A". Isn't that switch redundant given the fact that open "A" and 5th fret "E" are the exact same note? I'm just wondering if I'm doing it wrong or what, I'm just a little confused.
+Peach Tree Breyers I think I see what you're saying and in that case, yes it may be. If it's the same note then play it where it feels right to you. If you have a better fingering or an easier way to play a part of any song, give it a try and see if it works. You'll be surprised sometimes... ;) Thanks bud for asking!
Open your strumming hand and look at your pinky, follow your pinky down below your caluses to your wrist. THAT is the area that needs to rest on the strings of the guitar while you pluck strings to palm mute. Now take that part of you hand and put it on the strings. strum through the E - A - D string until it gives you the perfect palm muting sound while moving it close and further from the bridge. Voila! (spelling?...)
hey mate, thank you for your tutorials they are awesome... if you could find free time please could you make a song by Box Car Racer- Watch the World a really love this song and i would like heard it from you, appreciate it
