1.Untitled 2.Neighborhoods 3.Dogs eating dogs 4. One more time 5.Enema 6.Take off your pants and jacket 7.Dude ranch 8.Nine 9.California deluxe 10.California 11.Buddha 12.Chesire cat 13.Uranus 14.The mt,t show(I love this album but it is just a live album) 15.Short bus split ep 16.The other split ep 17.Flyswatter 18.Demo 2 If tom was on nine and California deluxe theyd be way higher. Also nine was great for me but it just needed a little more time in the oven i think. Neighborhoods is where blink should be going rn to me. Its why i think that new sing cant go back is better than 60 percent of what's on one more time even though its great. I think the separation in neighborhoods made me love it. I love blink doing an ava sound since it was meant for them anyways as a sound. For me on the new album childhood is my favorite. Also what did you do with toms les paul?
I put Neighbourhoods above all. I know it's not "classic" Blink, but to me it's a perfect blend of Blink, AVA, Box Car Racer and +44. The songs are just amazing
Dude Ranch is amazing. Tom never reached that level of riffage again. The songwriting was amazing too. I like how a lot of the songs didn’t have typical verse-chorus-verse structures. The recording sounded amazing as well; clear, natural, but huge. I disagree with you on the vocals. They sounded great and natural. On later albums, they were way too processed. Mark also never screamed like he did on DR again. I also love OMT. I was like you, at first, and thought there were a few skippable songs but after listening to it 22:32 over and over, they have all grown on me. Except for Childhood, I love all of the songs. It’s incredible they wrote that many good songs.
I honestly think your list is exactly like mine and it is pretty definitive. Couldn't agree more with California and Nines... Those albums were just... tough... Untitled and Enema are the 🐐's. Special shout out to 'If You Never Left' on the One More Time Part-2. That song is my newest favorite blink song that I haven't felt as strongly about since forever.
Really solid list! I personally prefer California over Nine. I Really Wish I Hated You, Hungover You. Remember to Forget Me. Darkside are terrible IMO. I’d rather listen to Bored to Death, Rabbit Hole, Cynical, She’s Out of Her Mind than anything off Nine.
1. Dude Ranch 2. Take off your pants and jacket 3. Untitled 4. Enema of the state 5. One more time 6. Neighbourhoods 7. Cheshire cat 8. Nine 9. California 10. Buddha
This was a really solid video. I had just recently listened to the dogs eating dogs ep and completely agree about Yelawolfs verse in pretty little girl. Felt like it didn’t fit in. Probably something Travis pushed for but it didn’t feel necessary with the vibe of the song. Makes you want to skip it when he starts his verse every time lol
I agree with you on almost all of this tier list. I definitely enjoy Dude Ranch era blink the most, so I was pleasantly surprised you ranked They Came to Conquer Uranus as high as you did.
Going to see Blink-182 live this Sunday in San Diego!! Wooooooo! UPDATE: It was a f***ing amazing show! They played +44 and Box Car Racer songs, and also an unreleased song, and after the show ended, Angels and Airwaves songs started blasting throughout Petco Park!
Not a tier list but a ranking nonetheless 14. Flyswatter 13. Uranus 12. Buddha 11. MTATS 10. Nine 9. Cheshire Cat 8. California 7. Dogs Eating Dogs 6. Dude Ranch 5. One More Time 4. Neighborhoods 3. Take off Your Pants and Jacket 2. Enema of the State 1. Untitled
I feel like personal preference and objective lists can vary wildly, and I think they are equally important. BUT here are my preferences: 1. The Mark, Tom and Travis Show (What got me into blink when I was 10. Will always be my favorite. Completely changed my life.) 2. Enema of the State (Hand in hand with live album, but heard it second.) 3. TOYPAJ (In that era, follow up to EOTS) 4. Self Titled (I think this is objectively their best work.) 5. Dude Ranch 6. One More Time 7. Neighborhoods 8. Dogs Eating Dogs (5 through 8 are pretty much all on the same level for me.) 9. California 10. Cat + Buddah (I love these, but production value is so low it's hard to listen to anymore and I'd rather listen to the live versions of songs from TMTATS.) 11. Nine
My tier list based off official releases S- Blink 182 & One more time (despite its production issues) A- Enema of the State, Take off your Pants and Jacket, Dude Ranch B- Neighbourhoods C- Buddha & Cheshire Cat D- Nine F- California
1. Take Off Your Pants and Jacket 2. One More Time... 3. Enema of the State 4. Untitled/self-titled 5. Dude Ranch 6. Dogs Eating Dogs 7. Neighborhoods 8. Cheshire Cat 9. Nine 10. California 11. California Deluxe
Great list. Untitled is a GOAT. Mostly agree otherwise, except I'd put One More Time as an S tier. Still not on the level of Untitled, and definitely needing the fat trimmed, But, I consider it an era-defining album for the band in the same way Enema and Untitled were. One More Time is like the synthesis of all eras of Blink in one album and is sincere in its delivery. The zeitgeist of the 'Blink Dad' era.
Put TOYPAJ in S tier and One More Time in A tier, then we’d have the exact same ranking. I agree One More Time has production issues, but honestly, if you look up RU-vid versions where the mix is improved, it goes a long way for a lot of those songs
@@littleredguitars2 Oh, I agree. And it’s sad that it takes people on RU-vid fixing it for free to make it a better listening experience, but I’m just saying, it helps with my enjoyment
No offense to Blink but honestly One More Time sucked. Especially In comparison to Untitled it just holds no weight. The riffs are terribly basic and the lack of Jerry Finn’s mixing and direction is really felt. The guitar tone is garbage, the drums sound fake and the vocals have way to much autotune. I was heavily disappointed when the album came out. Stoked they’re making music again but it’s not even close to the late 90s early 2000s sound.
S - Blink-182 A - Enema of the State B - Dude Ranch, Cheshire Cat, Take Of Your Pants And Jacket C - Buddha, One More Time, Neighborhoods D - California F - Nine
Solid List, very similar to mine. Enema and Untitled are the best. however, I just don't see it with One More Time. Having it above Neighborhoods and Dogs eating Dogs is wild to me. Way more duds on OMT than those records.
I think the total package is greater than the sum of its parts with OMT. It feels like the magic is back. The collaborative feel is back. Accompanied with a half dozen of really solid tracks and more than a few better than decent tracks. It helps me look past a few duds and some rough production
