Scott was a great drummer and yeah he fit well with the band. Travis is too. Saying that Scott is better than Travis won't bring him back to the band. They are both good. Stop staying in the past. Scott will forever be one of the founders of the band.
Redportal This was the time when people still talked shit about Scott being better than Travis so I just needed to speak my mind. And I was watching old videos of blink which had shit loads of comments about that so lol.
And saying travis is best drumming doesn't make him the best drummer for everybody, and saying blink is nothing without tom will not make tom comeback(i know he came back recently but that was not the reason)... everything is subjective, let people say what they feel

In Scott's statement he said the guys asked him to go to rehab. He refused and went out partying. He then decided that he was going to but by then they decided to make him leave the band.
Agreed. Hardly any punk bands even play at the warped tour now, and I don't blame them. A lot of people just wear skate apparel as a fashion statement, they've forgotten what it really meant to skate.
This is what I don't get. People always tend to claim Blink's rise to fame was once Scott left the band and Travis joined, but from what I see, they were already taking off while Scott was still in the band. Even "Dammit" is known as one of their best known songs and that was done with Scott in the band, not Travis. I know Travis is a highly skilled drummer but Scott has been given almost no credit in regards to Blink's fame. It's sad.
I think it was enema of the states production (jerry finn) that sky-rocketed them, not the drummer, and their switch to more pop-punk melodies that were more palletable by the masses. There is a whole enema of the state demo album with Scott raynor drums throughout which is interesring to listen to, as its like a bridge between the underproduction of dude ranch, and the clean crisp production of enema of the state.
This is so cool. I wish this kind of thing was was still authentic these days. Everybody is now so obsessed with post production and preparation and perfectionism. You don't see any raw casual interviews like this that are just filmed in the moment, with random stuff happening out of nowhere, like that phone call sent to voicemail for example. It takes a lot more to grab people these days and get them excited for something.

I'm sorry to say this as I love Travis so much but I miss Scott, I didn't even know much about him when he was in blink but he was huge part of it and when you watch this videos of him just sitting there quietly, you realize how much you took his amazing drumming for granted when he was in the band:'(
I understand Scott was an important part of Blink starting, and im not hating on his drum skills, I just don't like how serious hes being and how hes talking down to Tom. 3:57 "Alright, Come on Tom, that's enough." 5:39 "I don't appreciate your attitude."
Seriously. Just seeing those small exchanges from him really paints a vivid picture of the kinda tension he created during the tour that he deserted them on. Probably was already an alcoholic by the time this interview took place.
@@Tess1061 Nah, Scott wasn’t a terrible Alcoholic around this time. Even after this, He still Fucked around with the band from time to time during interviews and live shows before he was canned in Mid-1998. If it was the case, then he probably would’ve already been laid off before the end of 1997.
Scott was cool as hell. He let Mark and Tom do their thing. He took the band seriously and kicked ass on the drums. I think he was just too chill. He would have been happy touring with Pennywise and Lagwagon. Mark and Tom wanted to be bigger than Green Day.

Scott was an alcoholic and wasn't making it to practices and wouldnt go to rehab. Also Travis was the drummer for the Aquabats, Blink was on tour with Dude Ranch

punk rock fans would disagree,pop punk fans would agree with you... being a blink fan pre-enema is something a lot of people will never understand what it was like.. and that feeling pretty much changed when enema came out.. like all the neighbourhood kids had found out your special thing and it was so dissapointing that feeling had been destroyed...thats a reason why most older fans would say cheshire and dude ranch were the best because it reminds them of a time b4 mainstream pop-punk
I can listen to like any Blink song I just love their ,usic. I don't separate it to pre a post Enema era. Even thoug I think that Dude Ranch is the best.
That is the reason they kicked him out, they wrote Man Overboard about it and even made the last line of the song sound like his name but still his attitude in the video towards Tom probably didn't help =P
your from Canada , right? I'm from Poway, i went to the same high school's as Tom, Poway high, and Rancho Bernardo High, trust me , you didn't listen in the EARLY years. unless you magically knew about San Diego's local bands.
