The clothes really sell it. That sitting pose with the baggy sweater, the jeans pulled up, the socks underneath, and the dirty sneakers looks incredible. I always love when unconventional figures like this come along in a superhero dominated market and just knock it out of the park.
Blitzway have outdone themselves with this one. I love the box art. Both head sculpts look great. Kurt Cobain's likeness is really good and its quite accurate. The clothing has some nice stitch work and tailoring. However, as you've already pointed out, the black on the sweater should've been a bit darker. The paint application is clean. I like the fact that the sneakers have been dirtied up. The figure comes included with some nice accessories. I also like the display stand as well. I don't necessarily think that its overly busy, but that's just my own personal opinion. Solid overall work on the part of Blitzway! Thanks, Dean! As always, I really appreciate the hard work! Keep it up! God bless and stay safe!
Dean, your lighting is amazing. Looks like a high-end custom figure, mostly the paint work. Id say this is their best release as far as prototype matching actual figure since Carlito's Way. Excellent poses.
Something New, Awesome! Very Good looking Kurt Cobain 1/6 Scale Figure. Not to mention his Clothing, Glasses, Guitar, Shoes, and so on! All looked Far out Fantasic! I also loved Nirvana too, in the 90s back then. I really Dig his Songs. One of my Favorite Songs was, Come as you are. When I heard that the first time, it gave me Motivation Working out. And it kind of reminded me playing a Rocky Song. Very Entertaining and Informative. Thanks Dean once again for Sharing. 🤩🤩🤩👍👍
Best grunge band of the 90's nirvana started that era & smells like teen spirit one of the most successful songs of that decade Kurt was a great song writer and lyricist made a few hits in the short time became a massive success after the second album so terrible he took his own life it was a big shock loss had he decided to stick around he could have achieved so much more amazing things he's a true rock icon that will never be forgotten
I hope that I can still get this figure. I didn’t preorder it because I wasn’t impressed with Blitzway’s photography of the production sample. It’s clear that they went back and continued to work on it after the initial photos and videos. I’ve been a huge fan of Kurt since the age of 4 and this figure looks perfect, so this is a must for me. Great review as always. You always know how to do a figure justice. 🎸🤘
I would love to see an MTV Unplugged Eddie Vedder as well! I think a Liam Gallagher from Knebworth, Keith and Mick, Ozzy Osbourne, Mick Mars, Joan Jett, Anthony Kiedis, and Angus Young, among many others, would be sick.
Figure looks great! ..cannot wait for mine to ship ^_^ The base concept is simply bizarre. I would have preferred simply stage flooring. Dean you should have cover some Nirvana guitar work using your skills for the video. I used to live next door to a Chinese take-away, and once a week when the business was closed, the son of the family would use the take-way waiting area for band practice, complete will real drums. One of the tracks they would play was Nirvana's Aneurysm, which i own on CD single at the time (it was possibly a bonus track?). I love Aneurysm ^_^ I to would be up for a Blitzway - Slash
This looks AMAZING!! Kurt was 5 foot 9 inches, it looks spot on!! Only complaint I'd have as a super big K.C fan, hey had a little tiny shield with a "K" tattooed on his left arm, which I would of LOVED to se replicated on this figure! Very nice overall.
Fantastic overview, your lighting really made him come alive. The eye paint is Yelim level. Nice little mod with the left sleeve, any concern for dye transfer? Congrats mate!
Congrats on getting this figure, man, it looks absolutely AWESOME! It's definitely one I regret not getting when it was announced, 'cause the in hand product is amazing! I knew better, too, 'cause I bought a friend the Blitzway Jimi Hendrix as a gift and snuck a peek at it before I gave it to him and was blown away! Funnily enough, he loved it, but keeps it in the box!!! No joke. In. The. BOX. Haha! ;) I learned my lesson, 'cause when I bought another friend the Kaustic Plastik Bela Lugosi figure (the Deluxe one with the coffin) I said when I gave it to him, "Now, I haven't seen this figure, myself, so the stipulation of giving you this gift is, I want you to send me photos of it opened and displayed!" and he did! I got like a half dozen different poses in the photos, too. Too bad I didn't say that to the Jimi guy, huh? ;) Anyway, awesome review, yet again!!! ^_^
Amazing review Dean as always and the lighting and Kurt looks amazing. I remember going back to Dublin in the 80s 90s love the smell of the coal fires you could smell in the streets good times.
Once again stellar review Dean! This is my figure I chose to review as my first RU-vid video. Currently work on it. It's clearly I have a lot to learn, your review is again stellar. Love the lighting, the poses, the comparisons, (ps I also customized my Joaquin Joker just like yours, funny). Clearly I have a long way to go. Great job friend!
Nice idea about the pedals base - they could have called the guitar Jender so it would be easier to mod - yeah, it looked like one of the strings is wired wrong but its just loose like you said- nice with the thumb through the sleeve though it makes the rip on the left arm a little unfortunate with the elbow joint. Was thinking Freddie then the Beano myself - was waiting for it - great looking figure ! Great back story with pool tables in cold back rooms at your granda's in Dublin....🍷😏🔥
Wow!!!!! I would love to have one of these in a display case. But, I'll never be able to afford it 😒 Great video of the mind blowing details! When you done the close ups of the face, it made me feel like I was truly looking into Kurt's eyes and he was spirituality in there 😢 Such an amazing piece of History and Grunge Rock! ❤
@@deanknight333 I 110% agree with you brother! I've watched your video like 5 times just to be in awe of the realism and detail and to also appreciate your beautiful camera and lighting work, that really makes this look alive!! Which as a long time Nirvana and Kurt fan since 1989. I've passed down that love and appreciation to my little boy. Actually Birthday is tomorrow. He will be 11. I've been teaching him how to play guitar for a while (with old dad) and the first song he wanted to learn from me was "Somthing in the way" ❤ I know I am just one dad, in the world of millions of other dads and fans, that shares his love of Nirvana and wanting to help teach him guitar and the love of Grunge, but I see it like I am helping pass the torch to my future generation of Kurt and Nirvana fans and family..... People only get forgotten when they are not remembered or talked about ❤🙏
great review man awsome kurt cobain,, we lost shane mcgowan yesterday, kinda strange sinead and shane are gone in 6 months of each other considering there history and songs done together,,thumbs up from Dublin
This figure has already sold out everywhere and people trying to sell them for higher price on eBay haven’t even been opened yet 😕 so sad can’t even get one
Looks awsome man what a legend ! Definitely my favourite look . I've got the Bob Marley figure coming this would look great next to him ! Great review as always 👏
Review takes off after that Sinead o Conner story 👐 I think maybe the circles under the eyes at a distance could be if any issue with accuracy. I knew I'd regret not jumping on this fig some day. I'd have preferred a screaming singing/screaming sculpt but these heads go with the attire and weight of this master of a piece.
Yeah, it'd be cool to get other musicians like I'm a huge blink-182 fan so Mark, Tom, and Travis from the 90s or even the early 2000s? That would be sick Or Green Day maybe from American Idiot or Basket Case. I dunno, there's a lot of options with stuff like this.
This a good stand alone figure Kurt's height was between 5'6 to 5'7. Brandon Lee was close to 6' And Heath was about 6'1 An HT ttm22 should have been perfect for Kurt, but wont work for the clothes since it's already baggy to begin with.
Im a huge Nirvana fan and had no idea something like this even existed until now. I play guitar and actually have an original 1969 competition blue Mustang with matching headstock, aka the guitar Kurt played on Smells Like Teen Spirit. One of the best guitars i've ever owned. This figure was really accurate but I don't really know much about them, how much do they usually go for?
If I had two of these figures I would change one to look like the Reading festival 1992 outfit (because I was at that gig) even though the hair would be wrong .
The shoes are indeed correct. Kurt purposely spelled Fugazi wrong in real life. There are pictures of those shoes on google. Some say Kurt apparently wrote “FUHGAWZ” on his left shoe to make fun of Eddie Vedder. Eddie once wrote “Fuhgawz” on his shirt just before a photo shoot, intentionally misspelling Fugazi. Kurt apparently wrote it on his shoe to basically make fun of Vedder.
Hi dean did you manage to buy another figure for the other head sculpt, my figure arrived today but the arm was snapped in the box which is gutting when I’ve waited so long for it, I’m waiting on the retailer to see what they can do but I was wondering if they are out of stock if it would be easy enough to buy another 1/6 scale body and use that and if so how easy it would be to match up the feet and head pegs and remove the clothes any help would be appreciated
Thanks for the video 🙏 very cool figure.. I am a big fan.. I have a great checked shirt on my Jack Nicholson shining figure that would look great on this figure 😜.
the markings on the neck are correct -3 5 7 9 12 15 17 19. it's a pity the head of the neck is not a fender at all. Does the Jim Hendrix figurine have the wrong guitar too? You can put Cobain's figure on the pedal
My favorite Nirvana songs smells like teen Spirit heart shaped box come as you are polly something in the way territorial Pissings Lithium all apologies about a girl Love buzz School
12 1/2 inches in 1:6 scale is equal to 6'3 in 1:1. wow. That is pretty tall. He should be about the same size as Hot Toys Luke Skywalker. Oh well. Confirms that he will be a stand-alone figure. Literally.
