The day after this Blizzard was my 3rd day of work at my first ever job(dishwasher, grapes kenaston).what was normally a 20min walk to work took me well over a hour,if not a couple lol.when I arrived there that morning there were still staff there snowed in from the night before. The manager thought I was crazy for coming in. once I left the house and encountered waist deep snow as far as the eye could see I should have figured it out that nothing would be open lol. Stayed at work and helped shovel most of the snow from the front entrance of the restaurant,it was piled up over 9ft in font of the bldg entrance and along all the lounge windows. My older brothers friend was working the bar the night before and every time I came in whilst shoveling to warm up he would slip me a shot of scotch lol,I left there that afternoon heavily buzzed, and having just turned 16 I was still new to the drinking thing. The walk home took me who knows how many hours.Still think of that day every time I have a shot of scotch.

That was my first job also but in 96 lol. Miss those Sunday nights there as it wasn't well known to be a bar night and felt like a private party before it got popular

I was 6years old, and on Saturday I decided to play outside, I walked over to the school…if my dad hadn’t come looking for me when he did he my not have found my tracks. I was overwhelmed by the blowing snow and he found me curled up in a snowdrift in the schoolyard. He carried me home on his shoulders, I will never forget that day and neither will he.

I was 11 and living on Machray. My Grandparents lived on Bannerman and they were crusing the neighborhood on SNOWMOBILE. Me and my brother made a bunch of money shoveling snow the proceeding hours after this snowfall😮

Whoever wrote Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland, let it snow, didn't have to shovel it or jump start their car, or push a pickup out of a drift. But the city sure did a fine job clearing the streets and walkway - mind you, I lived on Donald Street, downtown, so as soon as the blizzard let up I'd hear a roar and look out to see a battalion of plows clearing the streets. Awesome.

It was devastating. I lived in St. James and in 7th Grade, that time, and after that weekend, I had 2 days off school because of that blizzard and the Remembrance day holiday.

35 years ago! Had to put on my parents 40th anniversary a few days later. Sadly my ruby mums, the colour for 40, were frozen solid under 32" of snow! ( I measured) The stores were closed so was happy to have been mostly prepared food-wise! It was quite the adventure in my younger days!

I have the 45 record of that song. The flip side is fight on summer. I remember the military was out with their APC( armoured personnel carrier) picking up medical personnel and people in distress. And my dad and I got a ride with a guy who had a jacked up 4x4 on Mcphillips St.

Taking the skidoos from Transcona to Portage and Main was a trip I'll never forget. Love to Dom and his family at (now closed) Lawn Decor on Dugald Road.

I remember this like it was yesterday. I was downtown working. I started heading home west end of St James and I made it to Polo Park where a bunch of bozos had piled up and created a huge drift that I couldn't get past. I was wearing dress clothes and I walked home. I got frostbite on my feet.
