More videos at Fleet Services would be very interesting to me. I work as an auto parts delivery driver for one of the largest aftermarket auto and truck parts companies in the USA. So I sometimes get to go to the Fleet services fire training center near where I work. The police and fire departments share the property and I see many different emergency vehicles on the property. Over all I like any and all videos about SMFR. It would be great to see and hear from other Fleet Services staff (mechanics/techs or office & other support staff).
I enjoy watching all your videos, you have a unique way of sharing your team and their equipment that allows us to feel like we are a part of the team. Please show more of Matt and Fleet, I enjoy learning and watching not only the firefighters but the support staff that all work together.
Loved this video. I find the details of getting a new truck fascinating. So much still has to be done once the new apparatus is delivered. Please make more videos with the first fleet member. Thanks.
Yeah the new fleet units that are going to the right stations they look so cool and i have a question if their was a fuel tanker truck on the any of the interstates and a engine and a Airport rescue unit or a ladder truck runs out of water would a tanker get called out if their are no hydrants near by
Picture this....... Fleet Friday, but it's the mobile service trucks that the mechanics drive or those plow trucks. Not sure if South Metro has their own Tow Trucks, but throw those in as well. Just a theory. Great video as always Eric!
Even More interesting would be to do a profile on your tax base and how this beautiful equipment is afforded. What your call volume is and types of calls In comparison to other major cities. Great Video , The fleet department seems like they can do anything with saying they can fabricate To custom the apparatus. Thats very cool and probably underappreciated. Do SOme more fleet behind the scenes..
Seeing Fleet was awesome, and Matt is a great guy to feature! Super comfortable on camera and great at explaining everything. Would love to see more of what he and the rest of the team do.
kia ora (hello) from New zealand you might be able to receive a few patches from me but im gonna have to dig around the station im apart of and find the spare ones hope your all looking after your self after the major snow storm much love and please stay safe
Curious what the average time frame is (assuming all the parts are available and inhouse) does it take to ready an engine or ladder from taking initial delivery to being put in service? Thx. Well done segment.
Yeah more fleet bureau vlogs would be awesome. Would’ve liked to see more about the engine that they had the cab tilted working on the motor, and the ladder truck that was on the lift!
It's Castle Rock, they have better access from the south side of the interstate for northbound traffic. The dispatching system does not need to verbalize those units because the numbering system does not overlap like it does with Aurora or West Metro. A CAD ID and unit number numbering reference is below for the neighboring agencies. WD/130s: West Douglas County Fire Protection District CR/150s: Castle Rock Fire Rescue FT/180s: Franktown Fire Protection District RF/250s: Rattlesnake Fire Protection District EZ/270s: Elizabeth Fire Rescue
South Metro Videos are a must for me. I feel as if my week isn't complete without watching there newest video. It doesn't matter what kind of video it is.
Great Intro into what Matt does in the maintenance of various emergency apparatus. I love the redundancy and organization of these vehicles. Kind of a Type A myself. I think that is a great idea to include what he does, because without him nothing goes anywhere. Better Denver and Colorado Springs, but that's what happens when you go further North. Glad to hear Red 3 is multipurpose. So that's why there are some snowplows hanging around. Nice to have a Tracked Vehicle too. How about how serious the Lack of Snow can be for SMFR too? That Fire Attack Training should be an awesome class and I believe will be essential in saving lives of firefighters as well as trapped victims. The "Vertical Ventilation" Technique should be a logical way to safely vent, but when you watch the Boyd Street Structure Fire in LA in 2020 something went seriously wrong, and firefighters were almost killed with what looks like a Backdraft. No matter, this technique has proven to save lives when properly used. When you look at the quality of these video a lot of thought and great editing goes into these along with creativity. Thanks to the POIs that put these videos together and to all those that participate in the Patch Shoutouts.
@SouthMetroFireRescuePIO please do Fleet Fridays on the new Engine 20 & Safety 35! Also, I would love it if you could show us some more of Fleet. Perhaps a Day In The Life video? Or maybe a literal "Fleet" Friday!
I would love to see him actually filling up the trucks I could sit all day watching this stuff and learn from others on how to apply to our fleet tnx waiting for more videos
It is the Advanced Resource Medic which is pretty much a mobile urgent care unit that can provide care on scene without needing to transport the patient to the ER. You can read more about it at www.southmetro.org/348/Advanced-Resource-Medic-ARM.
Yes indeed MORE FLEET! The fleet men and women are overlooked more often than not all over the country which makes no sense because fleet is VITAL to a department's survival.
You figure for a new apparatus they’re wouldn’t be any problems when we got our new Rosenbauer engine we had to send it back to the dealer because one of the electronic valves wasn’t working right
hello south metro, I am aspiring to become a firefighter up here in Canada. just wanted to say thank you for all your videos, it offers me great insight into the world of firefighting.
