Glad you made it. I'm in phoenix, van (suv) nomad 8 months now, toilet tent next on list. I know you know the name of the big tall cactus, saguaro (sa-war-ro) ask a local, FYI it is said these things are 100 years old buffore they put out their first arm, estimated life spam of 300/350+ years. That should mean that the large multiple arm ones (5 or more) could be older than the United States, thought provoking 🤗 Peace and happiness your way, be safe.

I've been out in the Lake Havasu area on BLM land since the first week of December. It wasn't very busy in December. But getting busy now since the holidays are over and the big events begin. Wiki estimates the Quartzite area gets approximately 1.5 million visitors, mostly between January and February. A lot for a town of 2,400. But it is a big desert.

I remember my first time passing through Quartzite and seeing a shocking number of RVs and thinking “so this is where RVers spend the winter … ALL of them” lol I pass through there fairly often (LA-Phoenix runs) and I often stop at the Pilot truck stop for lunch … got a McDonald’s and a DQ ;-) I’ll keep an eye out for you Sarah when I stop I’m on a mission to get a selfie w you

Cool you are there! I'm going to be there on the 14th and 15th and then on to Death Valley on the 16th for 4 or 5 days. I'll be in my Xtrek for this trip. Maybe catch you if you are still there. 🤠

Being that you have the roof rack now you could always take a tarp and attach it to it and make a little bit of shade if you needed to.... I'll be heading out to Quartzsite in a few weeks for the gem rock show they have out there..happy camping 👍

Hi Sarah. I was just down there car camping to get warm during Christmas and the new year. First time for me. The sunrises and sunsets are the best! I liked Plomosa Road BLM Camping Area north of town the best, it is a 2 week free area, two nice lady's are the campground host there. Cell phone Internet works better up there.

Lucky you!! I wanted to get out there this year but didn't happen. Bathroom tent is perfect. i camp in a trailer w/bathroom and will be putting up a bathroom tent in the future. Plus putting up a smaller sleeping tent and I will call it my walk-in closet. You have a good time and be safe!! (smart men need a bathroom tent too!! lol)

I generally avoid going to places with big events, crowds, and such, but I think I just might head up there in the Tacoma to check it out. Yeah I heard the court site was no longer a independent thing a lot of people from California who could not afford to pay their mortgage are living in vehicles in quartzsite 🐝 I know there is not a fire ban but how hard is it to come by wood out there

when me and my wife used to tent camp we had a bathroom tent/shower as well,and we used those solar water bags to shower with as well.love the videos and thanks for sharing with us.Tell Nomadic Zig to be nice lololol

Sarah Quartzite is very cool lot of places to go off road. Rock shows our cool lots to look at. I was there last winter what a blast.

Hey there! We were at Quartzite for the RV and Gem shows and I saw you driving by the RV show!!!!!. We ended up camping on Plomosa road but cell phone signal is somewhat weak. Have a great stay!!

Pick up some rocks in the desert with one's doggie. The one's at the tent will coast one. I heard that the burger guy is good to get burgers at. There will be a guy in a white Merceede's camping van. He goes all over the place in that van. He has an off road golf cart like buggey. He can show one the desert ok. I cannot find him on youtube right now. Go see the mountains on food and collect rocks and have fun.

I love the saguaro cactus skeletons. They go for big money up here, because they are so beautiful. I guess it's illegal to harvest them, tho.

I was there last October, nobody there yet. Cafe Bustelo my favorite coffee too!

Besides following you I also Watch Russ from RVertv who lives in Quartzite when he is not out traveling and making his videos. He just did a show about the Gem show and talked with a lot of the vendors there. How is Little one doing with all the commotion there? Have fun and I will see you again take care.

I picked up an adapter for my little knock off Jet boil so I can use the larger and cheaper propane tanks instead of the expensive pack style tanks. I have the pack tanks for when I need them though. The adapter was cheap too. I can even hook up the little stove to a large grill tank! But yes those small stoves are amazing!
