I like this block. As you said, it may seem tricky but if you break it down and do one component a time it is doable. Thank you for these blocks and this sew along. I look forward to the finished project.

Such a beautiful block. I don't think I'd dared attempt it before watching your video. Nice job.

Jessica, I'm really enjoying your QAL. I've never made such small HSTs before, but I find they are not as scary as I once thought LOL. I do have a question for you regarding the way you sew. You put your points directly under the needle, without any leaders or enders, and your fabric never seems to have a problem. Is that because of your single hole plate or because you starch your fabric or a little of both? Thanks for your great tutorials

I don't starch. I think it is just how I've always done it so I'm really comfortable. The single hole plate helps fabric not be pulled down but doesn't change the thread. I do sometimes have little thread knots at the beginning piece but it just doesn't cause any issues for me. I've never quite understood leaders and enders because if you are meant to use them to start it so your good piece doesn't get the thread knot, then why do people use leaders and enders in a quilt? Not a question for you to answer...just my thoughts out loud.

Just curious as to why you don’t press in between steps? It would be much less fiddley. ❤ The block is beautiful.

I've tried both ways many times and this is my preferred method by far. For me, it saves time, there is no warping of the pieces, and its super accurate. But feel free to do what works best for you.
