This is a good question, because the answer is both yes, and no! As long as the connection has to travel through your router, it is going to block any requests of a blacklisted url. Now, the problem is that many apps doesn't connect through the publically known url, but rather uses a server-ipadress, or a different url that connects to a private DNS for secure redirection/authentication. In this case you would need to know where the app sends it's network requests, and block those adresses as well. Though, if you switch to a cellular network, instead of your Wi-Fi, these filters will not be applied.
Followed the video MULTIPLE TIMES, It blocked every website. I am on a mac. To properly upload a how-to video it would be good to address any problems that could happen in the process.
This does not work for my TP router. When I try to input a website ip address i get the ip must have the same subnet information as the start ip. I believe TP router's suck as far as trying to block websites. I have never had such a hard time doing it before. My netgear router and linkys were so easy. I pissed this manufacturer makes it so hard to block websites. Looking to purchase a new router any suggestions.
