I remember being in a Video rental store and an older gentleman walked in, the lady at the counter knew him and said, "Hey Mel! Friday the 13th part 4 just came out." Mel said, "Wow, that's great, I'll have to watch 1, 2 and 3 first though.
I remember asking the local video store manager to please have a separate section for videos that were family rated...otherwise trying find a family suitable video was a lengthy and frustrating process. I often left the store without a video. For many years now I have largely given up on Hollywood and don't watch television programming. Off grid for 4 years now I don't even get a broadcast TV signal and that's ok. But I used to really enjoy going to the movies. Watching some RU-vid has replaced my watching interests, where real people can share their life journey. Thanks for sharing
@North Idaho Dreaming, Same. My wife and I don't patron the new releases any more at the only local video place I know because that's all they have. Instead we check out old television series on DVD from the local library. We're watching Magnum P.I. season 3 from 1983 currently. The library is the best alternative to the defunct video store.
Fond memories, thanks. Louisville was one of the last 10. Ours was close. Our friend owned it and the one in the next town. Watch no movies on the computer, all on the big screen. God Bless and stay safe.
