How appropriate... on a Friday on nr 13 (see house) having to pick up leaves that people should clean up THEMSELVES!! You are amazing that you did that, cause many would tell the customer to FIRST clean that themselves... You are a true professional and it actually is difficult seeing you having to do this. Dang! You are the BEST Ollie! I dont think they EVER cleaned those drains themselves!!
I dont think he is amazing for doing it. He charges out at the Jetting rate for a bit of a clean up. I am sure he would do it all day if somebody is paying.
This is why you get calls from people. Some of my countrymen could learn from you. I don't know a single Canadian plumber that would clean up the leaves, most would expect it done by the home owner before they arrive. Bravo.
Hi Ollie. When you give them the bill make sure you itemise the cost per hour for clearing the leaves as a seperate item. Also if you get a call back ask them to clear the leaves before you get there. Sue, mum from Adelaide, South Australia.
That homeowner needs to be educated, mate. On how to RAKE LEAVES SEASONALLY! I couldn't believe that beautiful topsoil coming from that gutter. Topsoil that was produced by YEARS of LEAVES COMPOSTING. I hope their wallet's fat because it's about to get liposuction! LoL
@@benzlover55 Not trying to be sarcastic but is that really any excuse? Common sense and/or having some pride about where you live or maybe pride about the contents you keep inside your garage are clearly missing with these customers
Block of units. They are everywhere like that in Sydney and expensive. Paying 600/700 per week for a 2 beder with parking if close in to the city. Looked like eastern suburbs.
Shit even when I do work I’m at $20 an hour cash for neighbors. But I do good work so if there willing to pay there getting there money’s worth but I’m also not working for free.
How things have changed in the last 30 years. Back as a kid and even after getting my first house kids were always asking to clean leaves, shovel snow, or even mow grass for spending money. Always obliged as I am disabled. Today it is beneath most kids go put down their phones and work. Ollie always goes above and beyond!
Man, what a lot of composted earth that was lost. That french drain was never cleaned from day 1, I expect. Love your lowered ears, Ollie, and beard trim very smart too. Have a great one!!!
Horrible, just horrible. Those leaves should have been cleared before you ever got there. Maybe if they did a bit of regular maintenance, they wouldn't have needed you. You are too good Ollie.
@@CallieMasters5000 I looked it up and its a term for an "unsophisticated" person in Aussie speak. It's obviously not taken badly because it would never be on a can if it was
@@JiLomlKoKLoLEver funny you should ask, they actually blamed me for the water damage in the garages until i had to point out the tidal lines on the inside walls of the garages. You just can't win in this world LOL
@@DrainAddict not with people, anyway. Thank God, that through Jesus I am a winner of Salvation. Are you a Christian? My husband and I enjoy your videos so much. It is amazing to see the difference in how plumbing is done in Australia vs Texas. Come see us sometime. Bring the wife and the kids and stay awhile.
I add to the comments on a disgusting state. Judging by the amount of topsoil that has been created by the rotting leaves I would be embarrassed over the lack of simple maintenance
Ratty I guess had too much of the “soup” and called in sick today. Poor Ollie he by himself Now I seriously hope you charged that customer extra. Raking and cleaning leaves isn’t your job. Whoever lives in those townhouses are neglectful. Should always keep them drains clean.
Just curious as to why you don't have an all purpose (wet/dry) vacuum on your trips. I really like the way you do a thorough job, just a suggestion to help, and a push broom and a flat shovel.....haha take care, keep up the good work.
Am I the only one that thinks Ollie needs rakes in his truck? Whether it be clearing up all the toilet paper in the yard which he does by hand or clearing up dried leaves. Couple good rakes man. Hell that shit was dry I would have a leaf blower and blow the leaves in the street and into a lot across the street if there is one. But at least a nice large rake.
I saw a house yesterday that had rain gutters on end of the roof. The gutters had leaf guards (similar to what was here, but 10 feet in the air) that were clogged with leaves and things were growing up from the guards. I think that your job is secure, if people do not perform basic maintenance. The pitch/slope of that driveway looked real steep. A person could slip and hurt themselves, walking down it in the rain!?
The fact that the water had drained away by the time Ollie got there shows it could get away given time despite the mulch in the channel drain, but there's no excuse for letting it get that bad.
Mate if that was my house i would've cleaned all the leaves up for you and cleaned the drain so all u had to do was jet the pipes. Hope u charged extra for cleaning
I'd say the owner has a number of insurance claims in the past when ever it rains, and another one for today. Hope he didn't have a Lamborghini in the garage. Hate to be paying his insurance premiums. Good to see you actually working with a pick and shovel Ollie, plenty of huffing and puffing exercises
Back in the UK we have a special tool called a broom for the clearance of leaves. Its much better than kicking them around 😁 soakaway seems massively inadequate for that Location.. What were they thinking!
Seems to me a leaf blower and a push broom would have been much quicker to clean up leaves and prevent crud washing back down the drain. Instead, a wet mess was created along with more work. Work smarter, not harder.
