@RominTV I've smelled old cooking grease as it's being transported off-site and I can assure you, as gross as sewage smells, cooking grease is just as bad, if not worse.
@@biganimetiddies1287 Old grease is definitely worse. At least with sewage waste, you come to know what to expect, as far as smell. Grease, however? It's so inconsistent in how it smells.

A blocked drain looks like the least of these people's troubles.... The amount of trash and what else is a sign they knew there was an issue for sometime but left it anyway. The real issue here is their lack of care for anything

Yeah, after a full remediation of the basement. A this point with how long it's beed soaking those walls, it's time to tear it all down to the studs and start over. While they are at it, break up the floor and fix that hideous plumbing job. Those under floor junctions are all wrong if he is so easily backing up between the shower, toilet and sink. They probably used sanitary Ts when they should have used Ys. Edit: I didn't see he scoped it at the end. They didn't even use sanitary Ts, just regular T junctions. All wrong, just a hack job.
I would have walked into that job and turned round and said Nope, not today thanks and walked straight out. There is no amount of money that would entice me to clear that drain. Well done Oli. 😀
@@minoan438 As soon as it hits the drain it goes cold and lumps up. Honestly, it's not fine. Never put grease nor wipes down the drain. It may take a while but it will build up and block it.
@@minoan438 how long and complicated are your pipes ? how long does the water take to go from source to the main ? how long does it take to actually get "enough hot and soapy" water to the end of your private plumbing ? Do the math.. think it twice be fore ever throw oily/greasy content down your pipe, next time ... Personally since i started watch this channel, i don't ever let a cup of oil get down the drain nor wipes ! left alone roots..
what we see here is somebody dumping multiple loads of very greasy food down the kitchen and toilet, you can tell by how much of a fucking mess that toilet was
I’m pretty sure where I live there is no where to put grease. We all tip it into the sink with hot water. Unless there’s something I’m meant to do with it?..
Been watching Ollie n Ratty n now Magpie for years and this might be the 4/5th time rewatching videos but I have to say after having many service people in my home he always goes above and beyond with caring for customers property in every video no matter what the income level. He really is a class act!!!

Obviously a DYI plumbing job. Definitely no permits or inspections by the Council. You'll be called back in a month to do it all again. That looks like an illegal apartment by the owner to grab more cash.

In college one of my husbands roommates was flushing rubber gloves down the toilet! My husband was going to take a shower and sewerage started coming up from the drain! No one knew he was flushing rubber gloves he had crones and didn’t want his roommates too see messy gloves! Got him his own covered garbage can in the bathroom! Maintenance was not happy!
The surging and then a geyser in the shower. Imagine the stench. It can certainly be a challenge with alterations done in apartments and substandard plumbing. Noticed the plunger with the long handles. They may have had issues there before.

Thing is, they have to sign a waiver when it comes to hellish indoor work not up to code. Because they flooded the place first and they made sure it would flood with their god awful DIY plumbing.
I love how pipes full of literal crap doesn't faze him but a grease clog like this makes him close the shower door. And he obviously doesn't like grease jobs.
Hey Ollie, OMG who in the hell design this drain system it looks like the toilet, shower, and kitchen drain are all together. Out of all your vlogs I watched this one was the grossest, I mean the toilet comes up through the shower eww that's so disgusting that person needs to go back and learn how to design laying down pipes. As for the person who live in that apartment they have a lot to clean up I would say to hell with that and move out. They didn't make it easy for you Ollie and this time I agree with you all bad. 🤔😯💪👎😵😉
Whoever installed that drain system needs to pickup (and read) a copy of the Building Codes... They will tell you how the various pipes need to be run and how they need to be connected to each other... Then that person needs to be ROYALLY Bitch-Slapped for creating such a Monumentally screwed up system and forced to rip everything up and redo it PROPERLY (at their expense of course)...
