The result says I have atleast 3 fibroids, one anterior, one posterior and one on the right that was sort of exophytic. there were some adhesions between both tubes and ovaries adhesing down the fimria.left tube was able to freed up. The right tube appeared abnormal and had dense adhesions all the way along it, although the fimbria itself was able to freed up. What would be my best option?
Hi Doc, I just had an operation from my fallopian tube 2weeks ago because of chlamydia trachomatis which this bacteria blocked my fallopian. Through this disease they took out the left fallopian tube and my right fallopian still has that disease accrdg. to my doctor, the right fallopian its hard to locate cause its hiding supposedly theyll cut it too . Also I had a tubal reversal sep 2019, had hsg 1 year after, according to my ob tubes are blocked, according to my tr doctor he said test was poorly done because it’s showing liquid coming out of vagina during test, he said one tub could be blocked and other tube is inconclusive due to liquid stoping at the uterus ( spasm) frustrating that I payed for this test and still don’t know for sure. My left tube is completely blocked and my right he was able to open it all the way up until the very end so both tubes are blocked. My ob said my best bet is IVF but she’s sending my for a second HSG and hopefully we can get it the rest of the way unblocked. Also she wants to see if it was a muscle spasm.
Hi Doc, I'm in the U.K. I suffer with Adhesions in my whole abdomen & pelvis, due to complications from a ruptured Appendix in 2005. I had the dye test revealed both tubes were blocked due to adhesions. We had 3 failed IVFs between 2009-2011. In 2012, I had a surgery to release adhesions ( I've had about 7 surgeries to release them but they grow back. During my surgery, they also did dye test & told me that one tube was open the other blocked. We have been trying ever since but to no avail & due to me being sick with multiple bowel obstructions, we Werth as focused but I'm now 42 & I would like any advice please.

I am not sure I understand your doctor's concern. If both tubes are blocked, they are completely useless, so what kind of "damage" is going to make that any worse? The biggest risk is that it still might not work and then the patient would still need to do IVF anyway. Overall, the risk is about the same as doing an HSG by itself

Hi, my right tube is scarred... I would like to have the threading method performed on it to remove the scarring and therefore open up that tube again. I live in Florida. How do I go about doing this procedure and what is the specific name for it?. (P.S. On 07/31/24 I already had the blue die in there, but nothing was done to remove the scarring within that right tube. If the doctor had pumped more die through it, could it have helped to remove the scarring/dislodge the scarring/push the scarring away and open up the tube? If not, what could've been done during that procedure? Would a differ procedure appointment need to be done in order to do the threading you mentioned, after the blue die?. I can totally get how it feels. I have been through this. My right tube was blocked. I was very worried. But i did not lose hope. Atlast it worked for me. I am much better now. I will be planning a baby soon. Dont lose hope. This will surely help.
Funny how he says that the pain is minimum but is nottttttt 😡😡😡😡it is very painful especially if the doctor try the bigger catheter to unblock the fallopian tube, also the pressure is very Uncomfortable
We have had many patients who have had their HSGs elsewhere (usually the radiology department at a hospital) who have complained about discomfort during the procedure. When those same patients have their HSGs repeated at our center, they almost always say that the procedure was much easier. Typically they say they feel some cramps that are usually less than what they experience during a period. This is especially true with blocked tubes. Some doctors try to "force" the tubes open by increasing the pressure they inject the fluid with - this will cause discomfort. With the use of selective catheters and wires to open tubes, you avoid that and so it is much easier. With proper preparation and technique the HSG can be an easy procedure for most!
I honestly don't know how I feel about IVF the success rate is not the best, especially for older women. I feel fertility clinics are better off at getting women to freeze their eggs at 30. It's extremely expensive for numbers that isn't promising and most times ppl require multiple attempts. Science has to come up with a better way to unblock tubes.

What are these procedures called? The one where they go directly to the opening of the tube and put the dye in directly and the one with the wire. I’m going to my second hsg test tomorrow and I don’t want to sound like I don’t know what I’m talking about.

There are a number of circumstances in which the dye may fail to go through the tubes OTHER than tubal blockage. Again, if a woman gets pregnant on her own - her tubes are NOT blocked. Sorry we don't know any docs in the U.K. Have you tried Bourne Hall?

@InfertilityTv Hello. I had a HSG performed and apparently have proximal blockage on both my tubes. I was then advised that IVF is my only option and that they wouldn't even recommend surgery trying to opening my tubes as it's a fail most of the time. I looked at this video and asked my gynae if they had tried this method while performing the HSG and saw that the tubes are blocked, she said no it can't be done this way and I'll need to do a combined surgery of laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Hi Doc Thank you for a very informative video. My wife had some complications with her Fallopian tube. One was totally blocked and the other one was partially blocked. The Gynaecologist clipped the one which was partially blocked before we went for an IVF. We had a baby with our first attempt. Later we went back to ask if they can do something for us but gynaecologist said due to a long time being clipped, the second tube is also blocked now and they are not repairable. They also told us that my wife has some other issue including, she produces low number of eggs and those eggs are not even strong enough to grow. So even with an IVF, there are very low chances. Hi I suffered a miscarriage last June...got pregnant with an ectopic pregnancy in September where I was unable to save the tube. Down to one tube and they are saying i have hydrosalpinx. My doctor told me that he recommends me removing the tube and just go about it the IVF way or wait for it to go away on its own. I haven’t had the X-ray or dye test yet. I hope this will help. Is there anything else u recommend.

Sara, we dont know the specifics of your case but in general, if a woman is able to get pregnant without IVF, then her tubes are not blocked. This type of treatment will not help in a situation like that

@2:02 how casually a man can say "the discomfort level is minimal". Ofcourse you know how it feels when the cervix is grabbed with sharp clamps and cannula placed in and a gush of solution pushed into the tubes and if they are blocked and more force is used, the discomfort is so inexisting!

I already had the HSG with a ob-gyn and both tubes are blocked. I started my period five days later and my flows are usually around 121ml which is why I was having the procedure done in the first place. could the dr have made a mistake in doing the HSG so close to my period and could the heavy period bio mass have blocked the tubes? anyway my question is what is the two procedures that you mentioned after the HSG... there must be a name for them both catheter and the other ? Im pretty sure my blockage is proximal. Also the HSG is very painful thankfully for a brief period of time and I am not looking forward to having it done again ever.
As long as it was not done during the period, it is unlikely that a heavy period would have caused the tubes to fail to show fill. The procedures which we performed are referred to as selective salpingography and wire guide recantalization
Hi dr. I had an HSG done couple of weeks ago. I have a blocked tube nd a damaged tube. Dr said its possible for me to get pregnant but pregnancy can be very risky. A high chance of Ectopic pregnancy. When I did the HSG the tube kept on popping out. The DR did not try to remove any blockage whatsoever. My OBGYN didn't even want me doing the exam cause she claimed I was okay since I always have a regular period and ovulate. Now she claims she doubt she can remove any blockage.

Bilateral hydrosalpinx makes it impossible to get pregnant without medical help. The recommended treatment in the USA is surgery to remove the tubes followed by IVF
Hi Dr. Morris, I recently had the HSG procedure and it was quite painful my doctor had to stop and try again. The dye did not successful go past the uterus which made us think I had proximal blockage. I've had a child before and two years ago a leep procedure but no other issue. Would my pain tolerance be extra sensitive or do I have very blocked tubes? Luckily my insurance does cover IVF (first cycle soon) but was curious about you medical opinion on why it was so painful.
